@Cameron19 @traNsplantEdneWfie @charlieb83 Which is why I wrote between junior and the AHL. not necessarily both. And I would include whatever overseas pro league they're in.

For Nylander I would give him at least another year in the Sweden and at least a couple years on the Marlies.

@traNsplantEdneWfie @charlieb83 I agree with that. If I was a GM every player would play 2-4 more years between junior and the AHL. Other than the Crosbys of the world obviously.

But, being that Nonis said he will be given the chance, this is just my prediction if he does make the team. I'm not advocating for him making the team.

@Burtonboy @Anthony Petrielli Hold up for a second - Pittsburgh is missing their WHOLE top 4 plus their 5/6 guy and still won. They played a great team game. So it can't all be doom and gloom if Phaneuf is gone. The minutes will have to go somewhere and they'll probably sign someone in the off-season but they need to play a better - much better - team game if they are to experience any success.

@Anthony Petrielli @charlieb83 @deedrag It could only be good news if they bring on someone else while ridding themselves of Ranger and Fraser - which should be easy since they're both free agents.

@deedrag @Anthony Petrielli Hate to be the bearer of bad news, but my money is on Dion being re-signed for 7 years x 7 mil. So says Dreger - he approximates in at that. Said might even be a touch more than 7 mil.

He's here to stay. Question is, can Nonis get someone else in here or is this the d we're going with.

@Bruffins @Belfour20 @Airfreshener I'm a Dion fan - if we had a true #1. I don't think anyone would argue that he is an elite #1 dman. He isn't - and that is not a negative on him. Nothing wrong with being a great #2 dman.

@jcg_4 I'm ok with the pinch - as long as he hustled his ass off to get back which he didn't. There's been several examples of Dion being lackadaisical - that empty netter against Boston comes to mind.

@Yaknowwhat @MaxwellHowe We don't need to wait 3-5 years - we have enough pieces in place that with a couple of moves we can be a contender. It all boils down to what this team has needed for who knows how long now. A true #1 D and a #1 C. The D being more important imo. Get a Shea Weber or Zdeno Chara on this team, bumping everyone down one, and see the difference that makes.

Where to find this player - well that's why they pay Nonis the big bucks to do what we all do for free on this site :)

@Uncle Otis @Komas Taberle That C is a big thing wrong with Dion. He doesn't fire anybody up on the bench. And his half-assed skating to try and catch up with Fleischmann was a joke.

Pretty sure we're talking about the Leafs and Bernjer here, not LA and Scrivens. And there was quite an upheaval. But LA was playing on the road and doesn't have nearly the fishbowl coverage Toronto has. And Scrivens A- wasn't brought in to be LA's starter the way Bernier was to Toronto and B- doesn't have nearly the history with his old team that Bernier has. Try to stay on topic.

Tell that to Mirtle who lists last year's national contract at $190 mil. But hey, Cameron knows more than him.

You are nuts, man. This is the biggest deal in league history. But nooooooo, Cameron says it's not huge. Cameron says we're all pea brain idiots who don't understand anything. A bump of that nature in the cap for just the Canadian national deal is a big deal. This doesn't include what the next US deal is and the revenue from all the outdoor games, etc.

This deal is over DOUBLE what the last deal was. 190 mil to 433 mil. How is that not huge? Kindly tell us idiots who can't read what the omniscience Cameron knows.

And no, I won't kindly fuck off just because I dare question what your holiness says.

The mighty Cameron says it's a bad deal though.

The prior national contract was $190 million per year. Now it's over $430 million. It more than doubled but somehow - nobody quite knows - it's a bad deal and really not so gigantic.

Like I said, Cameron you are out to lunch more often than not.

I would love to do more research but I'm in a hotel with wonky wifi on the Ipad and its too hard and annoying. Even if it was "only $210 million extra", that's a huge some of money for Canadian market per year.
