@Cameron19 @peterbleafs There is a split but IMHO it's more like 50/50. RC doesn't make them accountable. He keeps doing the same things. He never uses the 4th line (putting more pressure on line 1) and there are other teams who we are in the same conversation where it comes to talent and they outperform us.

@Anthony Petrielli @Mind Bomb @charlieb83 They need to switch up Lupul and JVR and here is why. YES JVR and Kessel are great together, but Lupul and Kadri don't seem to be. If we can spark those 2 we will be better long run and I really don't think Kessels numbers will dip much from that change.

@ingy56 I enjoy a fight as much as the next guy, but at some point ppl need to separate that enjoyment from any sort of importance or impact in the game. I don't buy this idea that a fight turns the momentum or changes the game in any way. I don't think it matters if anyone on the Leafs fights at all. I think it is really important that they can all skate, shoot, pass, and think the game. I think it's critical that they can all play more than 4 fucking minutes a night and not cause goals against. Today is both awesome and a little crazy. Because in 2014 a fan shouldn't have to cringe at the idea that Colton Orr might make their team. Finally our organization has figured that out.

@ingy56 @rickpearce76 @Burtonboy @Cameron19 @-Keon I think the part where a lot of ppl are getting too trigger happy is assuming this is the be all and end all. And that because you have great numbers one year or on one team that it will carry over. It's not always true. Sometimes guys have a great situation, playing against poorer competition or having a great linemate, or being on a strong team. IE) Versteeg looked like a champ before he came to TO and he was fucking terrible here because we tried to put him higher in the lineup.

@Burtonboy @Cameron19 @ingy56 @-Keon One thing Dubas said in an interview on the radio around the time of his hiring is that the stats are part of the puzzle and it helps mgmt and coaches determine the best situations to make players successful. For example, he referred to a young centre on the greyhounds who was being outmuscled by older kids on the 1st line, so he dropped him in the lineup and he was able to outplay those lines and score a lot more. Tweaks like this are where I see it being helpful to the team.

@Alec Brownscombe @FRyan Despite draft status/ranking whatever, I think Gorges would make a bigger difference to the team than Josh Bailey. You are leaving out the part about a 9th overall pick who did nothing last year. And probably got at least some time with Johnny T. If he was on our team we'd be looking to give him away.

@Rielly_44 @rickpearce76 @TheCanucksnaphook @Yan28 I read something, on here, about there being some reason that they actually had to sign him. a 2k9 draft pick has had no less than 3 years to do something to convince the team he's worth keeping around. @Reether @Yan28 Always the same shit. No matter what the Leafs do the media guys are smarter and point out the faults. If we sign veteran bums and don't play our youth we are wrong. If we sign some bottom 6 players cheaply and give some kids a chance we are morons for not signing vets. It's the perfect scenario for these media guys. And when the team finally turns things around they'll be happy as pigs in shit to write happy stories regardless what they thought about things before that.

@BrandonCheema we're talking about him more so than Rogers/Bell, which is mostly why they put him here. He's the "owner" figurehead. As a TFC fan I can say I appreciate what he's done for that team. The Leafs are a whole other animal, not so easy to just go throw money at problems. What would you expect him to have done by now? (serious question).

@T_Ry @rickpearce76 @The_Irv People need to look at the league stats and take a look at how many guys put up more than 50 pts. Last year 92 players had 50 pts or more. Every year more than 200 kids are drafted, most never even make it and only a small handful will go on to score more than 50 pts a season.

@The_Irv @T_Ry The definition of bust in TO means: for a fwd: He either doesn't score like Stamkos or grind like Dougie or both. For  a defensemen: he isn't Subban or Weber. Everything outside of these scenarios is useless to the common fan and they think there is a magic portal we can ship these players they discard and get all star players in return. Nonis's inability to find this portal makes him useless as well.

@dlb Mad @TheCanucksnaphook If we could get the team to buy into the idea that there is no 2nd/3rd/4th lines, but one scoring line and 3 secondary scoring/energy lines we could come up with some great combinations and probably distro the time fairly evenly or give more to the "hot hands" on any given night. Clarkson should get a chance with Kadri and Lupul to start but if its not working maybe he could actually help the team more by playing with others. Perhaps a Lupul/Holland/Clarkson line and an Ashton/Kadri/Frattin line would produce pretty similar amount and be about as tough for the opposition to play against. Egos need to be checked in at the door.

@FRyan @TheCanucksnaphook He needs 20-25 games on a line that uses some speed and skill (3rd line hopefully) and gets more than 10 minutes a game. A lot of his time on the Leafs saw him on 4th line filling a role that doesn't suit him. He even fought for no good reason just to try to stay up with the Leafs. If we give him this shot I am sure we will know what we have and I honestly think he will do well.

@mcloki @rickpearce76 Also, just to be a devil's advocate. You are saying LeBron has some choice in where he might sign and letting the Raps off the hook for not getting him but in the same breath saying the leafs could not convince Boyle or Gorges to come here for making the same choice.

Also, in order to have stability they have to be doing something for a while. It's been about 1 year so far with the new guys in charge. We need to give it time. We have a way better ownership than many teams in the league. I think we are over analyzing things.
