I would bring my ladies: my six year old, Stella and my three year, old Phoebe.  They’ve become experts at marshmallow handups, heckles and cowbell ringing. It would be a close tie between featuring Katie f’n Compton and me.  “In the Paincave with KFC”  would follow the US’s most successful mud, grass and sand crusader as she and her supporting husband travel the world seeking wins and securing sponsorships.  There is the intrinsic and captivating drama from KFC nipping at Marianne Vos’s heals and in the audience “discovering” the inequities between men’s and women’s racing.  Recently, my six year old daughter asked why there weren’t women in the Tour de France.  I responded, “I don’t know, it’s silly, but at least we have ‘cross and Katie Compton”.  Alternatively, there’s the reality show with me, “In the PainCave with That Guy”, the story of a weekend warrior, getting up before his family wakes to torture himself on a trainer, balancing a marriage, fatherhood and work, wondering if his file tread’s glue job will hold and dreaming of front row call-ups and beer handups… Second thought…stick with KFC.

Imagine the fun you had on a hot, sweaty day in the backyard slopping around on the slip-n-slide with the sprinkler.  Now takeaway the sprinkler…and the plastic slide.  Ouch.

I agree, I think the team kit gives me extra watts on every lap.  That's why I started my own (non)team, so others and experience this gigantic power boost ;)  Seriously, having a team or (non)team community to talk with after the race, post pictures and rants is one of the best parts of CX.  hup hup!
