Playing really hard for Bolland's sake in my opinion, Damigo and Holland, using asset of team speed instead of "receiving the play"

Dougie Gilmour should be hired to replace Carlyle, Killer will get more out of the players than any crazy "receiving the puck system"......do it now Nonnis

Shows Granberg, Percy and Finn are ahead of Blacker in eyes of management, better upside and fills dire need although sounds like McKegg has a fire lit under his arse today, good for Nonis

Agreed....Sub dirty for tough, the number of head shots Sat and did Kreji have a hearing yet, Ashton got 2 games for a hit from behind ....what do the B's get for that hit on Smithson? Personally I feel they get away with far too much

Ahhh, thanks could he be called up for a week of practice/emergency? Also Canes put a Sutter on waivers today...they have cap troubles, I do not think Nonnis will panic he will diligently search out a solution, IMHO

Time to head out for the family meal, besides family friends, and Leafs start , i think I am thankful for Nonnis replacing Burke...the lack of white noise has helped the team burn the boats....by the way what is this year's slogan? C ya

I think we need to use our assets. To put together a package for one of the top 15 centres in the league , no point in patch work, with Kule and Fraser in lineup no way it is 6-5 last night,

brutal track meet, Carlyle at some point is responsible for the team not being ready to play when games begin...nice they can score but with some D being played this game would be out of reach!

In the 60's Leaf players would visit small town Canada each summer, Frank Mahovolich came to small town rural Nova Scotia in 1967 after the cup win, still have the poster (framed now) that was on my bedroom door as a kid, hence the handle for me at MLHS the players would always be in a motorcade parade, Eddie Shack came the next year, then expansion stopped the visits. Terry Sawchuk and Allan Stanley were in town earlier in the 60's....

THREE...in Halifax it was Carlo, Stajan and Ian White Plus Steen was on Sweden in that tourney. And I think we had a player on Czech or Russia that year as well, 2003 ?

Actually the players who played last year in the tourney for Canada were given a pass (Rielly, Rhinehart, MacKinnon and Drouin).

Alec, I read somewhere that an interview with the Leaf goalie scout/instructor will be coming up....here are some questions......What do you observe that makes you say this kid could be a pro goalie among their skill set: save selection, skating, puck handling, compete level, rebound control, athleticism, positioning, mental toughness, glove hand, agility, stick use, communication with D-men work ethic, etc

and...do you rank these attributes and then begin to work on them one or two at a time? Are their other skills to look for?

Next question.....with goalies often maturing/developing late what do you look for in undrafted goalies at the college level or in Europe, what advice do you give them as they age and become better than they were at 18 and how do you find them or do they find you at the ECHL Levlel or Southern League etc?

Thanks Alec

Because to quote Yogi Berra "...stats are like a bikini, they show lots but they don't show everything!" I like stats as much as anyone but chemistry is the ultimate skill elevator of team performance.
