and then trade Lupul at the deadline for big return when he's a PPG playing on Kessel's line

@Loric76 @ingy56 it all depends on how many fixtures it's supplying, and how big the house is (How far the water has to travel before reaching your taps)

They typically have a 1" gas line and suck back a lot of gas during operation, so if you have a huge house and long runs of water lines to reach the other side, you won't have much energy savings.

The new hot water storage tanks are very efficient today, for a bigger house I would suggest sticking with that.

@Cameron19 @loomx overpopulation is going to become a big problem. With the creation of artificial foods and machines feeding us and building industry, humans are free to keep reproducing without natural selection or survival of the fittest balancing our ecosystem. As it is, the earth is almost at it's tipping point. Such a large population breeds more industry, and pollution to sustain itself, and more industry breeds more population. Humans are like a virus spreading uncontrollably over its host cell

Good work David, I'm surprised by the praise you're getting in the comments section. Whenever I, or anyone else, has suggested this, everyone would lose their minds. Bozak is a very well liked person, but he's merely a placeholder on a line that does not gain anything from his presence, or loses anything from his absence. What worries me about this, is that when someone does emerge as a clear cut 1C, Bozak will struggle anywhere else in the lineup. He's not good enough offensively to lead a secondary scoring line in the top 6, and not good enough defensively for the bottom 6. The Leafs should trade him while his value has peaked.

@Alec Brownscombe "This roster has a lot of weird stuff happening on it, but paying Jordan Staal $6M through 2023 makes next to no sense. They basically gave him a whole fuck ton of money and term in the hopes he could be a second line centre, but his numbers have gotten even more third liney since leaving Pittsburgh. That’s about as financially sound a play as betting your life savings at the track on a three-legged horse."

lol I liked this quote because just recently got into a debate with a couple posters who still say we should trade for Jordan staal to play 1C

@dlb Mad Sometimes I wonder if Fenton reads any of the articles on here. He's been coming on here pushing the same narrative for as long as I could remember (ie. Phaneuf sucks, Kessel isn't a franchise player, Carlyle is a good coach because he's won a cup, blah blah blah) That and continuously playing devil's advocate in arguing with posters just for the sake of arguing.

@Cameron19 @Yaknowwhat I'm really hoping this was leaked to Simmons to temper expectations for Gardiner. He just signed a long term contract and everyone was slotting him in with Phaneuf. If the hype continues all offseason, media and fans would crucify jake for any screw ups in the first couple games

@Jordan29 @Cameron19 seems ridiculous if their plan was to trade Gunnarsson for a lesser D-man to play with Phaneuf that forces him to play the side he's least comfortable with

@Jay_Berg it really is a terrible idea. Hopefully management is just leaking that info out to media as to not let the media run with Jake or Rielly being locked in on the top pair. If media hypes it up all offseason they'll crucify the kids for any screw ups early on.

@Jordan29 3 years ago the cap was 64.3 M. Since then it has increased 4.7 M. Weber's cap hit was 11.6% of the salary cap at the time. That would be equivalent to roughly 8.25M with today's salary cap. Weber being the much better defensemen leads me to believe Subban will be awarded less. Erik Karlsson will more than likely be used as a direct comparable. Karlsson signed in 2012-2013 for a cap hit of 6.5. Which was 9.2% of the 70.2M salary cap at the time. Adjusted to todays salary cap of 69 M that would equal an annual cap hit of 6.3 M.

Who knows what other variables arbitration will bring into account, but i'd expect subban to be awarded 6.5M - 7M tops

@RandomScrub @The_Polish_Cannon @DJBrianBurke @Xxxxxnew yeah no doubt that's probably his goal. Is it really worth it to create so much bad blood between the organization and its star.  My guess is Subban is not going to forget this treatment, and is going to jump ship to a team he feels wanted on

@RandomScrub @The_Polish_Cannon @DJBrianBurke @Xxxxxnew yep. Bergevin is playing hardball but at the cost of alienating his star player. Yet he pays 4th liners 2M and didn't hesitate throwing money to Emelin. He's playing hardball with the wrong players

@RandomScrub @Xxxxxnew every other team in the league would jump at the opportunity to lock subban up with an 8 year deal. It must feel extremely shitty that his own organization, that he's worked so hard for, doesn't appreciate his efforts and value

1 month ago on Friday Mashup: We’re Gonna Need a Montage

Reply

@RandomScrub @Xxxxxnew it's worse than nickel and diming him. Bergevin is flat out robbing him. Subban wanted a long term deal 2 years ago, but gave in to bergevin's bridge deal for half his market value in order for Subban to prove what he can do. Well he went on to win a Norris, join the Olympic team and lead his team into the playoffs. Now Subban, after losing millions he should have had in the first deal, is being robbed again.

@hoolihan @The_Polish_Cannon @Greg Fenton @loomx anyone who doesn't see how valuable Phaneuf is as a defence man is just plain ignorant.

Pushing out the team's best all round D-man to make room for an offensive minded D-man with a massive contract is poor cap management. The organization has been making a concentrated effort to draft mobile puck moving defensemen for the past few years. Rielly, Gardiner, Finn, Percy. If Rielly hits his full potential he can very well be a Norris caliber D-man

Both sides now want a 1 year deal, MTL has no choice but to trade Subban at the deadline now or risk having him leave without returns
