He had that groin issue too I think. I'm just saying he had different levels of competetiveness throughout the year, where as at the beginning of the year, and in years prior he was consistently aggressive and strong. How often did he get knocked down this year compared to last? He didn't even go down when Dion broke his arm.

Secondary scoring is a serious issue. This season he was lights out in the first half, hitting, backchecking, skating the puck, etc. i thonk his knee got injured around the half way point if the season, because that's when his play fell off.
@Burtonboy Yeah Leaf fans are the fucking worst. Fucking cannibals.

@CanuckUKinToronto @Belfour20/JB-45 @Burtonboy He played a two way game in Jr and he's shown some glimpes of it here. He'll come around. Not a worry in my mind about that kid.
@Keeon People are stupid. Don't talk to them.
Second to, obviously, Mike Brown.
His game first half and second half of the season were almost night and day. I think he probably needed that knee surgery a while ago.
Probably our second best forward for the length of his term here.
You assholes fucking with me because I refuse to watch? Fuck you guys.

I'm always shocked when I say something stupid too.
Oh gee should I watch that horrid shit on TSN or just wait until ten seconds afterward when it's posted online?
Who cares about basketball? Fucking prima donnas.

Throw Grannberg bottom-right D, Carrick bottom-centre. Komorov third-left wing.
Lupul, Kadri, Kessel
JvR, Bolland, Clarkson
-----, Holland, Ashton
Bodie, -----, D'Amigo
I think this is going to be our lineup next year.
What a demented thought process.
How much fucking foresigtht would they have had if they couldn't trade Reimer for the Kings' cap reasons and then Bernier didn't pan out. Revisionist nonsense.

St Louis has some real gems on D. Ducks have some gems playing O. San Jose has the old guard Team Canada guys.
Skrtel you fucking pirate beauty.

But not much point in comparing...
JVR plays with Kessel and is on PP1. Let's see how he fares with an under-performing Kadri and mystery RW.
147pts/179gp as a Leaf. Not bad for $5.2mil playing on 2nd line.
Let's trade JVR and Kessel too. I mean who wants consistently good players?
Eashl is where it's at.
Spoken like a man who's never played a competitive sport.
I haven't decided whether Brown is a perennial underachiever who had a good year or if he sucks and had a good year.
Kane has a bad attitude, let's make it worse by bringing him here.

Good article in Globe and Mail. Phil, of all people, going out of his way to apologize for failure of Leafs.
Leaders do tend to want to jump ship, eh? Some argument.
Except this shit happens all the time with guns, and almost always in the States. Borh are obviously an issue.
Lazy bastard. I'm throwing waffles at your house unyil September.
At best he's a fucking idiot and he deserves longer for killing someone in the bathroom he couldn't even see, who obviously didn't pose an imminent threat.
2 weeks, 1 day ago on Poll: Who do you want as the Head Coach of the Toronto Maple Leafs?
That's pretty distasteful.
Remember when we had good coaches here? Quinn and Burns? Thought Carlyle was going to be one of those salty old bastards that could get us wins. Turned out that he was a hokey fart, with lousy tactics.
Kitchen's our guy. He worked for a handful of our coaches.
Yeah, you're a banker... (:
Yeah read that studies show large bonuses don't necessarily work that well to motivate people to perform complicated cognitive tasks. Just give him a pile of money to motivate him to come here. Otherwise he 's motivated enough.
That would be best case scenario. Where's Hitch from?
He's not leaving St Louis though. Look at his team there, and their success. We'd have to give him 8 digits.
He is RFA, and he's never had a major chance at term and payday like this.
Gotta hope Mimico has some magnetism.
He must expect to be worth about $4mil. Anywhere ranging $3 - 4 and change are grey areas for me. Who knows if he wants to stay, or what term.
He'd certainly be fun to watch on the same line as Clarkson.
Be tough to play against. Free up room on the ice for Holland. Or shut down hard with Bolland.
Hypotheticals... Teams that play aggressively win games. The Kings and Bruins and the Ducks and St Louis have one kind of obvious aggression, but there's nothing passive about the way Chicago goes after teams.
They do it for whole seasons.

Exactly, Carlyle had it right last year. Burn the boats, protect this house, etc. They hit, shot the puck, just generally played an aggressive brand of hockey.
This year, it's like Carlyle wanted to invent his own trapping style, except without the effectiveness, or winning.
They couldn't play D under Ronnie but they sure as hell went after teams. No one ever complained about them not 'moving their feet'.
22 goals when his whole line had an off year, and he needed knee surgery... Yup, washed up.
We have been coached from the beginning to play a cowardly brand of hockey: scared of taking hits, scared to make hits, scared to forecheck, scared of the opposition scoring goals when we have the bigger guns, scared to play our 4th line, scared to dress a 4th line, scared to play our kids, scared to challenge players in our zone, scared to pressure the points, scared to employ any kind of man to man coverage, scared of the matchups, etc.
Everything about the coaching is based upon being scared of the other team, instead of imposing our will on them. Then they wonder why we can't clear the zone, why we aren't moving our feet, etc. The entire game plan is reactive.
Blame Fletch, lotta good it'll do you.
Wilson was terrible, but at least he had an entertaining brand of hockey, and a terrible team. Useless with the defense though.
Carlyle won a Norris and a cup and still couldn't coach defense -- with a better team.
Are there any assisants out there waiting in the Wings? Yes, from the Wings please. Or someone who worked for Hitch.
