Why the fuck is your name Belief if you have a pic of one of those douchebags with the douchebag on his head? Isn't that blatantly hypocritical?

Typical media hatchet-job on the Leafs looking for a negative narrative after a big win. Watch the player interviews on the Leafs site; everyone is looking for a pound of flesh. Complete hogwash.

They haven't really tried to make the team better except by drafting, and they haven't given any of those kids a reasonable attempt to mature through the minors. What a shit organization. If I was Eberle or RNH, I'd get married and fuck a reporter.

Lupul back tonight? We could use his sort of hardnosed play in the top six. And a couple goals too.

Wasn't Kessel the guy who went out of his way at the end if last season to bring all the reporters to him and apologize for the team's collapse?

Yeah sorry he doesn't want to shoot the shit every fucking day but, how many other guys would do that?

Missed the game. It looked from the highlights that we were all over them in the first and couldn't score, then a couple goals, the first one a real stinker, changed the tide. Second game of a back to back as well.

Wouldn't read too much into it, same as I wouldn't read too much into us scoring 11 goals combined, or whatever, against Chicago and Boston.

Certainly wasn't instinctive for him to jump in front of the net. I don't like his attitude, in general. There's so many plays where he decides he's not going to skate to the puck but coast or wait for it to come to him, and he's lazy in making himself available for his D partner.

I understand what he's done for the team in the past, and it's still early in the season, however, I wouldn't be opposed to moving him.

Boys are putting it on the line a lot more lately than they have in a while. And they're sorting out some of the coaching problems from the past couple years.

Kid's got something to prove on all fronts. I like it. Good kid, if he didn't fight that'd be fine but, the fact that he does means he doesn't think of himself as being untouchabl, or too special to sit in the box or risk injury.

@T K O @toleafs @Mcost61 Prust is a nobody.  A year ago we needed Phaneuf to play at least two minutes of the five he would have been off for.  This year we can play five without him, no problem.

I don't know that I really want him around anymore though.  He doesn't look as committed as a lot of other guys on the team.

@Dogger It looks like he's not skating, he coasts way too often -- which is fine when he's getting to where he needs to be, but he's not getting to his mark, he's not turning with them, he's not trying to get to pucks first, he doesn't always move to open up for his d-partner.

I don't know what the deal is, but it isn't physical, it's an attitude problem.

@vinoa @Anthony Petrielli @Burtonboy @Lescott I think it's more a maturation process (maybe some coaching) but I still think it's a matter of a few pieces other than ones we already have.  A few years away - is what I'm trying to say.

I think I'm a lot more optimistic than these guys.

It seems like the team is adapting some neutral zone tactics, which they've never really focused on prior.  They are working harder on puck retrieval in our zone and they are getting better at cycling -- especilly with Kessel split up from Bozak and JVR.

There's still a learning curve though, and we'll see if it really works out.  The Kessel on the half-boards PP has to die though.  Put him in the slot and work the puck off the other wall with Kadri.

I think as far as our weaknesses go, the criticizisms are fair.  However, the prospects and some of the better young guys on our team are creating a bit of redundancy that we can hopefully exploit to help address some of the team weaknesses.

I think the problem people have with our top centres is largely how well they win battles and their coverage in our own zone.

It's an indeterminite subjective mixture, and we don't know exaclty how far the black goes one way, or how far the white goes the other.  I guess his act of knocking the net off is some shade between Stalin and Gandhi.  But you're arguing that there are no shades, only Stalin and only Gandhi - within the rules or outside of them.

In this circumstance, as with pretty much all human relations, there is no stand-alone logic.  It's all relative and dependant, nuanced and subjective.

Mathematics, is something entirely separate in my eyes.

The logic is dependant upon all of the other supporting factors.  Logic doesn't exist on it's own, it's a construct.  Everything is on a sliding scale ethically speaking.  There are different levels of breaking and bending rules, and understood punishments.

@Mortagleus @Mattmark It's not as simple as black and white - breaking or not breaking rules.  You studied philosophy, you know that nearly everything ethically is a matter of scale.

@Mortagleus @Mattmark It's so outrageously far outside the scope of the game.  If you hook a guy or trip him you still are in effect trying to take the man and you're slightly outside the lines in which the game is allowed to be played, whereas, if you flip the net off you are stopping the game entirely by breaking the playing field.  It's the sportsmanship equivalent of picking up your ball and going home.
