@Doorman @maximus_asinus not a keeper league?

@Doorman what sort of league is it? Who else is participating? When is the draft?

@Cloud09 @Dangle_My_Berries I also think the player models look disturbing. Faces look like rubber masks, it is quite jarring. Have you seen facial expressions? I wonder if the artist responsible has seen emotion before.

@Cloud09 @Dangle_My_Berries the commentators always feel like they're 2 steps behind the play. Once the games reaches a level where they are acting and not reacting to the play is when I buy the game.

@mike_84 @jafa muckbar you must not have seen Kessel swing his stick at Scott. He is a padawan at least.

@TheCanucksnaphook I agree with you, it does break up the conversation. Mashup chat should be visible from every article. If the writers are looking for focused feedback then there should be a method to either filter comments, or a way to attach comments directly to the article. Having multiple pages with different conversations is disjointed, and to a new or casual reader a little confusing.

@Cameron19 @Pent_House @maximus_asinus @ingy56 this is my thinking as well. Leafs would be smart to move Franson now before losing him next summer. We could get a good piece coming back.

I'm not sure how it would work cap wise, but would anyone trade Franson to Philly for L. Schenn + 3rd? I think he'd be a decent 3 pairing guy who could move up the lineup.

1 month, 2 weeks ago on Tuesday Mashup: Catching up

@MaxwellHowe but what does that mean? I interpret that as Kadri is more likely to pass off to Lupul when they're together, and when they're not together Lupul is "looked off" because there is a better shooter (Kessel) on the ice.

has Winnik played with any of our guys before? You know Carlyle likes to pair fowards, maybe we can get an idea of where he might play based on existing chemistry.

I can't help but compare the hiring of Dubas to the plot to Moneyball. We hired an advanced stat guy to find good players flying under the radar.

A lot of negativity on this site regarding Booth (most of it unfounded). It seems as if we're not trading for Crosby, Stamkos, or Tavares then it is a bad move?

@lukethenuke I like the team more with Booth. He basically completes the 3rd line cycle I was arguing for last week. I feel we are now a playoff team.

are we happier with Booth on the 2nd line or the 3rd. Personally I like the idea of him playing beside Santorelli on the 3rd, and Frattin on the 2nd with Kadri. There is chemistry there.

My only question now is Komarov, he was signed to not be "another 4th liner" but he is basically at the bottom of the LW depth charts.

I then wonder if Johnson's asthma was common knowledge, or if Bergman went the extra mile and found out on his own. Or if we drafted him and we simply lucked out.

A lot of news on Andreas Johnson as of late. His asthma was treated (what does that even mean?) and now he is turning out to be quite a steal being picked in the 7th round. Do we have a scouting report on him? Was his asthma something that really held him back?

can someone make sense of the arbitration awarded to Sobotka? He apparently owes the Blues one more year of service at 2.725 mil if he chooses to return to the NHL. That is a pretty lowball deal if the rumors are to be believed. Have the Blues effectively closed the door on his return?

@MaxwellHowe @Burtonboy that is bad asset management. Are we supposed to let a good piece go for nothing? Or do you take a small risk and turn his trade value into more than a conditional pick?

2 months ago on Peter Horachek on Sportsnet 590

Reply

@Burtonboy there is literally no risk in keeping him. If he gets a huge dollar amount awarded to him in arbitration you sign him to a year contract and deal him at the TD. If he wants out he will play better to attract suiters. He is a good 1B goalie so if Bernier goes down or turns out to be less than stellar the Leafs are still in good shape.
