such bullshit on this site by some blaming Carlyle and Bernier for those goals. unbelievable, Franson bonehead play on the first and Kessel a lazy cross pass.

@Gilbey93 Schwartz is 21 and on pace for over 60 points, can't see Blues trading him, but would be a great pickup, could turn out to be like a Schenn for JVR, but don't see it happening.

Question for you guys.....if Bolland is put on LTIR and can't play until the end of the season, it opens up cap space per the amount of his remaining salary if I am not mistaken. The team can then pick up a player using that available cap space. When the playoffs come around though, can Bolland return ? I believe the cap is only in effect for the 82 game regular season, and not the post season. What I am asking is can the Leafs pick up a player and then have Bolland,if ready, come back for the playoffs ?
@loomx @Jay31 buddy of mine at work played for Laviolette and said he was one of the best coaches he ever had. By coincidence said Dineen was awful in Florida and the new guy they brought in is being raved about by the players.

@Zep2 hope so, but will be hard to find a taker for a 7mil contract!

@Bruffins Clark,Gilmour,Roberts,Tucker,Joseph, Sittler,MacDonald,Salming,Palmateer and Keon to the best of my recollection. Sundin is probably the closest though as some didn't appreciate his talent, as some see a lot of flaws in Kessel's game. I would say Gilmour, Clark, Sittler and Keon were the most liked unconditionally.

@Great Dane @CanuckUKinToronto you are absolutely right, professionals making millions playing in a city and team they love need a coach to motivate them every game of the year, as they are incapable of doing it themselves.

@loomx don't disagree, but tonight was brutal reffing all in montreal's favour. further to your point mcclement was awful tonight and hardly won a faceoff in the defensive zone. we can't keep letting these guys just stand in front of bernier either. on the flip side, lupul has a scoring chance and kulemin doesn't even make an attempt to get in front of budaj, but just goes to the far post, and it is an easy save.

told my son after kessel scored, montreal will get at least 3 pp's and subban will probably score, then win it in the last minute. almost got it right. ref''s are killers in montreal. watched 2 plays far worse than gleason's call not called against montreal, after the game was tied.
@mcloki don't you know you cant say that on here:)
@TheCanucksnaphook agree, said it for two seasons now

@Burtonboy Myers makes less mistakes than Gardiner, and usually guys his size take longer to reach their potential..see Chara, wasn't an impact player until his mid to late 20's. I would take him on this team any day. he fills a need for a physical shutdown d and is in the right age bracket. He will only get better. I doubt Buffalo deals him to the Leafs though.

@TheCanucksnaphook @LeafsForLife@rustynail we do that all the time on the 401 and the cops are actually quite helpful with it, OPP and WRP when needed. That was just an asshole, and they come in all forms.

@The Truth Hurts agree. have said that since we got him. we need another tough dman that can play. Don't agree yet with your Holland comments. Watched him a lot in Guelph and he can be dominant. Regularly was more noticeable than some of the other junior stars on other teams. There was a reason he was a first round pick, I think he needs a regular spot for a full year to bring his level up to where it should be. I just don't know where he fits with Bozak, Kadri, Bolland and McClement filling in those roles. He is not a winger either.
@MaxwellHowe Bolland's contract is about 5.2% of the current salary cap. if the cap goes up to 70m that works out to about 3.6m, anything over 3.75 I would be hesitant given his injury status. 2 year deal at 3.75 should be fair and lets him test the market in 2 years again at only 29, so if he fully recovers he could make a lot more. We pretty much have the top 6 locked up for the foreseeable future with Kadri being the only wildcard with RFA. Bolland at that number on the third is still a bit high but he can spot in on the second for periods of time so imo he is worth it. Raymond can go, McC is okay for a couple of years but not at over 2, who knows what Kulemin would bring but I would consider a younger third liner who is less money. Our bottom 6 can be filled out with Broll,Ashton,Biggs,D'migo,Devane Ross and Gauthier within the next year or two and leave us cap space.
