I know it's early, but don't you think that if Bernier keeps playing like this, he should be in Canada's net at the Olympics?
Who's playing better?

@Mattmark @Grahamzky Yea agreed! But meet at 1.25 or 1.33. Perhaps one-year deal!
1 year, 3 months ago on <!--:en-->An interview with Leafs VP of Hockey Operations Dave Poulin<!--:-->
Think Fraser wouldn't resign for $1.25 for two years? That would be reasonable wouldn't it.
He played a key role on the Leafs shut-down D last season plus much needed toughness.
@darthNihilus Think that Sam Gagner would be a real possibility.

Everyone is predicting - s-o-o-o:
Clarkson - Toronto
Horton - Phx
Iginla - Detroit
Grabovski - Calgary
Weiss - Dallas
Ribeiro - St. L.
MacArthur - Phx
Stalberg - Wpg
Scuderi - Toronto
Bryzgalov - Mars
Brunner - Wpg
Alfredsson - Ottawa
Thomas - Phil
Filppula - Ottawa
Emery - Chi
Bozak - Anaheim
Ferrence - Carolina
Plus the Leafs make a major deal for someone like Thornton, Duchene, Berglund, Hanzal, E. Staal, Tavares - probably not today but later down the road when they have more chips to deal.
All just guess work - maybe wishful thinking!
@Cameron19 Do you not get the feeling that Byfuglien might be available?
Think the Leafs might be interested?
1 year, 4 months ago on <!--:en-->Goodbye Grabovski<!--:-->
@Yaknowwhat Fully agree - good player, overpaid, business decision.
Obviously the Leafs have someone coning in to take Grabos place (and cap) but who?
1 year, 4 months ago on <!--:en-->Leafs to use second Compliance Buyout on Grabovski<!--:-->
@mr_hanie Wonder if Grabs is being bought out to bring in that 1st line centre? Figured one of Liles or Grabs would be going.
Think a guy like Stastny or someone were not thinking of, is now on the way in?
@Black_Hawk @Great Dane Maybe offer Nashville a player and pick to pass on Barkov?
1 year, 4 months ago on Pre-Draft Open Thread
@Bon Scott was a Leaf fan @TerrancePelletier Happy to have him as GM - low key - but gives the impression he does his homework. Lucky to have him!
@Great Dane Man would hate to give up Franson - he should be a stabalizing d-man for several years.
How about Colborne in place of Franson? Colborne still should be considered a good prospect, he's still relatively young, with upside. Like the Faulk inclusion though!
Lots of speculation that Phaneuf is being shopped, possibly in a deal that includes Carolina's #5 pick. Who knows if this true or not, or merely a name mentioned to drive other team's price tag up?
IF Phaneuf is going Carolina's way, and somehow I doubt it, would hope that a d-man (Faulk?) would be in package coming back. Hopefully it is NOT Gardiner leaving - he is the future!
Everyone keeps saying Monahan at #5, which I don't believe is a foregone conclusion. Don't count out Lindholm! MacKenzie had Monahan at #7 on his pick list. Soon we'll find out though, won't we?
@rockydundas Wouldn't be surprised if Shinkaruk goes to the Jets at #13. Leafs - Rychel, Mantha, Hartman, Erne or Compher?
@Cameron19 @Loric76 Yea something like that or Liles, Colborne and the 21st pick (plus a 3rd possibly). But only makes sense if Barkov somehow happens to be available.
Like to see one of the top teams picking waste a pick on Furcale! Dont believe in drafting goalies high!
1 year, 4 months ago on <!--:en-->DRAFT DAY!<!--:-->
@theacs1966 @Jay_Berg Dont think the Leafs trade up to #5 unless by some strange co-incidence, Barkov is still available.
1 year, 4 months ago on <!--:en-->Draft Weekend: Who we takin’?<!--:-->
@4evrblue @leafscapguru @theacs1966 @Grahamzky In what way, man?
1 year, 4 months ago on <!--:en-->Thursday Morning Mashup: Letang Prefers Toronto?<!--:-->
@mcloki @theacs1966 @Grahamzky So are you in favor of the Leafs signing Lecavilier then? If so, then who's going, if not Grabs?
@happy_gilmour @Grahamzky Yea I buy that. If the Leafs are going to sign Lecavilier doubt Grabs is back.
@theacs1966 @Grahamzky But a lot of guys to resign. And those guys will want raises.
Lots of talk now about bringing in players like Lecavilier, Vokoun, Letang etc. Perhaps this a good idea?
What I don't see is how the Leafs would be able to afford these players (cap wise). The only way I see some of these players coming is if guys like Liles, Grabovski and Phaneuf are bought out or traded (most likely traded|). Would this be a step in the right direction?
From what I see, our Leafs don't have a whole lot of cap room. (unless moves are made)
Like others have said, love Letang, but already have others coming up like him, so would not be in favor of giving him a long-term big $$$$ contract. Of course, decent player, though!
Lecavilier, be careful, no long-term contract!
Great trade - Acquiring a goalie who is young and highly regarded - and not giving up a whole lot in doing it!
Bernier and Reimer should provide Leafs the goal-tending they need to be contenders for years to come.
