@Xxxxxnew Truly think Sportsnet talking over hockey is the worst thing that has happened to the sport since TV came into play. It has always been 2nd choice for me behind TSN and now with them upfront and center, it sucks ass. MacLean and Kypreos are fucking tools. This combined with a crap Leafs team might drive me into the back seat with hockey.

Posted this after game 1, I was told to relax....
"Same bullshit as always with the Leafs. Fucking BS river boat gambler hockey. Can't protect a lead. Outshot. Outworked. Can't clear the zone. Choking a goal late as always. Not sure I can handle this yet another season. Ridiculous."
Not all the same relevance, but still sums it up. I love the Leafs dearly, but not sure if I can do this again this season. Really think maybe its time to step back and just watch game in 6 after wins. There is so many issues with this team that we better damn well tank and get McDavid AND Eichel. Anything else will keep this team wallowing in mediocrity.

I blame it all on the Kadri suspension way back when in the game against the Wild. We were tough and aggressive up to that game. Since then, we've been scared to hit, check and fight. Fuck the refs, they screwed us ever since then.

Sorry boys, this team is just not good enough right now. Be lucky if we can win a game this week again.
Just watched the game now, wow, just wow, that 3rd period goal by the Habs just cannot go in if you expect to win hockey games. His first two goals were bad, but the fourth was fucking atrocious. If I Carlyle, Drew is starting and your going all in that Bernier is back for Tuesday night.

@Belfour20/JB-45 Carlyle said the right thing, hoped Reimer would notice and get ignited.
7 months ago on Shark Club Game Day: Game #72, Canadiens at Maple Leafs
ffs Reimer, making a fucking save in the first 10 mins of goddamn hockey game. Useless piece of shit.
@mcloki I agree completely, go above the GM and get Liewicke to have a presser and show the incompetence of the refing the Leafs get game in and out. Big fine, so what. I'm sure they could have a doozie of a video from just this game.
7 months ago on Shark Club Game Day: Game #71, Lightning at Maple Leafs
There is absolutely an NHL agenda dictated by Gary Bettmann to help the poor team succeed to promote the success of the league. Leafs do not need to win or make the playoffs to keep the league floating. Pure BS.
Bodie, heart and soul again. Your an idiot Carlyle, a line of Ashton and Bodie would rock playing 6-8 mins a night.
Nice job refs, soft call when it was 2 - 1 for Leafs turned the game around and now another brutal call. NHL agenda means Columbus, Phoenix, Dallas, Tampa make the playoffs, big market Canadian teams don't need too. They already carry the league.
Shoots 12 - 4 now this period.
@Jordan29 Agreed 100%, the difference in play is night and day at this point.
@Murph2417 @TheCanucksnaphook@LargusMeans You get my point then. MacA is not bringing toughness, and Komorov for Clarkson was supposed to be an even trade off. So where's the grit, hitting and aggression this team had last year? Nothing has really changed has it? But their play certainly has.
So fricking soft this team. What happened from last years team that had grit and toughness? MacArthur and Komarov the difference?
Fucking Carlyle, our energy guy and heart and soul player the last 10 games, Bodie, he's played 0:39 so far. This no 4th line shit has to end soon.
@B_Leaf @peterbleafs@LargusMeans The second goal was very soft, Reimer came across the net too far and left the farside gaping open. He has to make that save.
7 months ago on Game Review: Game #70, Red Wings 3 vs. Leafs 2
@B_Leaf @LargusMeans We didn't play uninspired hockey, and had our chances. James needs to step up early in the game and make a big save. Two games in a row, he hasn't. Sure he made great saves later on, but the score is already 2 zip.
Huge stat mentioned yesterday.
Leafs have 4 wins in Reimer's last 16 starts. But have 14 wins in Bernier's last 17 starts.
End of the day, Howard out played Reimer last night, I get where Carlyle is coming from on his comments. He may make a lot of stupid decisions but this isn't one. Oddly enough, I would have started McIntyre last night.
Why the hell didn't we move Franson today for anybody????

Bravo, nice fucking calls ref. Not only was the hook on Gunnar AFTER the play was dead, then the Phaneuf call for competing. Asshats.
8 months, 3 weeks ago on GDT: Tampa Bay Lightning at Maple Leafs (7 p.m., TSN)
Regardless of my earlier rant. The difference in the way the team plays with Bernier in net compared to Reimer is startling. On twitter APetrielli had a great point about the puck control of Bernier over Reimer and how it maybe allows the team to play calmer in front of him.
8 months, 4 weeks ago on GDT: Maple Leafs at Winnipeg Jets (7 p.m., CBC)
Great to get a point......
But seriously, how the fuck does Buff not get a tripping penalty 15 secs before he scores on the 2 hand trip on JVR??????
You fucking call Rielly for way less, then let that go on a rush to the net????
BULL FUCKING SHIT!!
@Burtonboy Everyone is excited after last nights game because of the level of compete they showed. End of the day it was still a loss, and if they shit the bed against Jersey on Sunday, Boston will cruise in on Tuesday and destroy us. I've really lost all hope at this point, just don't see it anymore, far too many warts and not enough beauty. I was all in until that Carolina game and then the veil fell away, and now I don't believe. I think that Carlyle should go and that management should bring in a younger generation coach that will get more out of our young roster, but Nonis isn't going to do that. I think it comes down to a young roster, that's lacking veteran presence to steer the ship when sinking, and Bolland was that voice. His return will be too late.
9 months, 1 week ago on Game Recap: Game 46, Capitals 3 vs. Leafs 2
@Yaknowwhat But that's 42 games remaining you have for them, it would have to be 18-12-6. Still don't see that happening
Just looking at numbers, 36 games left, Leafs probably need 90 points for a playoff spot. That means they need to go 22-14 to finish off the season. No matter how hard I try to believe it, there is not a fricking chance in the world that is going to happen with this group. FUCK!!
@newkb @ingy56 @Burtonboy Fuck Mirtle, stopped following him after the Ranger game. His smugness and dislike of the Leafs makes me just not give a fuck what he has to say anymore.
9 months, 2 weeks ago on GDT: Maple Leafs at Hurricanes (7 p.m., Sportsnet)
Reimer really needed to make that save there. I know its a 3 on 1, but that was not a shot that should beat the goalie from that range. That is what bothers me the most about Reimer, he makes amazing saves, swimming in his net the whole time, battles and looks awesome, then lets in the real stinkers when you need more amazing. That is game over, if there was any chance of coming back, that goal killed it.
@daniel marois Yeah, I think he is the only option, other then going really out of the box and getting Crawford or Cherry.
@Loric76 That's just fucking lovely asset management.
Has a coach ever quit on his team and walked off the bench into retirement?
Shots already 12-3 Carolina
LOL HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA Seriously??
@The_Polish_Cannon Is there truly a player on this team that is not expendable at this point? Complete and total lack of effort, heart, emotion and compete. It's a fucking joke.

Reading on the Canes boards, seems like the general consensus is that they are extremely happy to be rid of Gleason. Sounds like another pylon. Hoping that a change of scenery will bring his game back from what it was a few years ago. May be the new TO fans whipping boy, I hope not. If his game is up to par from 2 season ago, he is a mean, physical, stay at home guy that we sorely need. At best its a huge win, at worst, we're right back where we were with Liles, so basically a wash.

I'll probably get flamed for this but I've had it with Kadri and other parts of this team. I think he's been a terrible fit with Kessel/JVR, not keen on his "no panic" comments, and he's bloody selfish at times. It's really at the point where I don't want to build the team "around" him, we already have a few other princesses to pamper. And the fact that he wanted 5m+ after a half of a decent season puts red marks all over him. If I could play GM for a day, I would try and move 3 major assets to "change" the chemistry of this team. Kadri would be shipped for a shutdown D-man, a top 2 type player with leadership/determination/heart to play with Dion. Players I would target would be Scuderi, Girardi or Bieksa. Then I would flip Gardiner for a #1 center in the same age range, some like Ryan Strome or Charlie Coyle, or even Brayden Schenn. Yes Gardiner is incredible, but he continues to show immaturity, has at least 2 brain cramps a game and I'm not sure if he will ever get that desired hockey "IQ". His value is immense right now and this is the time to get the most for, he would bring in a massive #1C prospect. Lastly, I would ship Reimer out for a backup and prospect, or another asset that would bring more leadership to this group. Reimer and his reaction on the bench to being pulled on Saturday was very interesting. It shows that he has heart and desire, something this team tends to be lacking. Even though he's a battler, there is still something about his game that makes me nervous every single time he's in net. Bernier is the goal of the future, Leafs management decided that in the summer, but I also believe Leafs management felt the same way about Reimer's game, the way he battles, almost fighting with the puck. Some nights it works, other nights...... hence why the went and got Bernier.
I think a lot of comments on here have hit home today, this is a young, immature, coddled group of pansy's. Yes they are talented, yes they can be fantastic on some nights, but other nights they lack all of those elements you want in your team. Watching the 24/7, it's almost like we've slid into a Muskoka 5 group again, this time revolving around players that haven't matured enough to be in that situation. The mix in the room isn't balanced, and we can continue to "grow", with some accepted bad nights, a just enough is enough attitude or you can juggle the cards and change the mixture. Thoughts?

@dlb eh @LargusMeans ok, here goes
with Bozak, 7-9
without Bozak 10-10
Not nearly as much of a factor on our win-loss record. Bolland brings intangibles, leadership and a winning attitude, I really think it speaks volumes of his importance.
10 months ago on Game in 10: Game #36, Panthers 3 at Leafs 1
Leafs with Bolland 10-4.
Leafs without Bolland 7-14.
Does that stat truly mean as much as it looks like it does?
@darthNihilus @LargusMeans That's pure insanity, lol

Also interesting to see Phaneuf under 20 mins at 19:12 and Gunnar only 15:16.
Was a big fan of the Clarkson signing, haven't bagged on him too much, but tonight I see perhaps that the chemistry isn't there. That 3rd line with D'Amigo installed onto it was incredible, they shut down the #1 line all evening and scored 2 goals to boot. The effort and energy was way up with them, a direct result I think of having D'Amigo, who fits really really well in "that" role. Also the 2nd line was stellar, Holland looks like a natural fit between Raymond and Lupul. Will be interesting to see what this line-up does Monday against the Pens and how Carlyle will see things following Clarkson's return.
@ingy56 @The_Polish_Cannon Oh, but your saying if Phaneuf did it to Marchand there wouldn't have been a call either? LOL right
10 months, 2 weeks ago on Preview and GDT: Bruins at Maple Leafs (7 p.m., LeafsTV)
@Yaknowwhat @LargusMeans Give me a break, call the game right and we won't be bitching on a nightly basis. The refing is atrocious right now, and certain teams get certain calls that other teams never ever get. Remember Malkin on Bernier? Remember JVR on Price? If I was Leiwicke I would have a press conference and light the refs up showing the brutal non-calls/bad calls that have been the norm for the last few weeks. Case in point, did Clarkson's stick blow up on its own? Now have Phaneuf do that to Marchand, would there be a call? You fucking know it.
Boston Bruins, the epitome of clutching, grabbing, holding, obstruction with out ever getting called. Wish the Leafs could get the same refing on a nightly basis. Chara does what Gunnar did on Iginla, never ever would there be a penalty there. That call pretty much setup this game for the Bruins.
@DJBrianBurke @wiski @Alec Brownscombe I went ballistic though on the faceoff to start the 5 on 3 kill. Our center had a chance at the loose puck and got held and obstructed, no call. When you put a team down on a 5 on 3 and then that happens, you absolutely have to make the call there. Once again, a total fail on the refs.
