@IhaveawaiteratMSGThey hired Stephane Quintal to replace him. If you think Shanny was bad wait til Quintal gets a shot at killing the Rangers. He said some real sh*tty things about the Rangers when he "played" for them. He's a real class act...

I doubt either Swede gets here before Miller. I wouldn't be surprised if JT starts the season on the left side while Hags heals. And if he plays well it opens the door to Pyatt's inevitable exit. The Swedes need time in the AHL. Lindberg is suddenly being hyped as a top 6 center when he was never projected to be a point producer in the NHL. He had a great year last season but we need to be realistic with him and Fast. This will be a huge adjustment for them both and there are reasons neither were high draft picks.

I'm a Ranger fan before I'm a hockey fan. Stopping the NHL and whoring out their players so the league can make $$$mil is outrageous. Hank was a wreck after the last games and it's only a matter of time until a NYR is seriously injured wearing the wrong sweater. I prefer amateurs in this tournament as it always was until the rich guys figured out a way to exploit it for their own gain.

If they must play then why not make it part of the Summer games??? They changed everything about olympic hockey when they opened it to pros so what's the difference if they change this? You would have the exact same tournament with the same style and level of hockey being played and it wouldn't f*ck with the NHL season!!!

@Farmerjohn22 Look again. Stats are NOT close to similar. Different era but still WAY different. HL: 2.25 .920 MR: 2.89 .904  Not close.

Hank averages more wins/season and will pass Ricky next year. Ricky had only 2 seasons with 30 wins or more. Hank is a lock every year.

I love Mike Richter forever but he's not as good as Hank and he will never be a hall of famer. Sorry. There are other goalies who's stats are better and they have a cup and they aren't in. Off the top of my head I'd say Barasso but I know there are others.

He's getting close but when you play such a (relatively) short period of time you need eye popping stats to be HOF worthy. As great as Hank has been he's missing a few key items which would put him in now. He doesn't have a 40 win season, he has only 1 vezina and of course he doesn't have playoff success (Conn Smythe, Cup or even finals appearance). The standards change when you can look at career stats over a long career. Accumulation of the right #'s can make you a shoe in. Odds are he'll win 400 with a SP% and GAA among top 5 in his generation and possibly close to 100 shutouts. Add this to the vezina and multiple noms and you have a HOF career. If he wins another Vez next year and adds a cup with a Conn then he's in right away.

This is a fringe move. Zucc is not a make or break signing. What they need to do is trade MDZ for Chris Stewart in a sign n trade. He's a monster with a right hand shot who's only 25 and can score. We don't need MDZ with McD, Staal and Moore on the left side. This is the move that will make a difference.

@Ranger Dave Zdeno Chara was a -62 his first two seasons. Granted it was with the Isles but my point is you need to wait on judging Fowler. He's 21 and already has 200 games and a 40 point season under his belt. What's Mcllrath done. I'm rooting for him to turn into Beuk but I'm not holding my breath. Either way in 20 years I think we'll look back at passing over Fowler as a big mistake. Hope I'm wrong.

@Not So Nashty I assume this is a troll post but if not you are a dope. Obviously they won't trade Cally in a ridiculous pkg like that but more astounding is that you mention Gorokhov?!?!!! He was a '95 draft pick I believe who is 35 years old and plays in the KHL. They don't own his rights and he will never play in the NHL. Jeez where'd you get that one from???

If Staal is healthy our left side D would be McD, Staal, MDZ & Moore. No where to put him and his bloated salary. He's not better than a healthy Staal or McD and I'd rather play Moore and his tiny contract. I'd like to trade MDZ for a righty D or young forward with upside.

@NYRFan_RF1 OMG stop with the LTIR. It won't wipe the contract off the books. It just allows you to sign another guy that season. It DOES NOT remove Richards from the cap. And if you think it's no big deal to carry $6.6 million for a guy who doesn't play you are out of your mind. If they get stuck with his contract because of injury it will ruin the franchise for years. Get your info straight.

Zone matching is nothing new to the Rangers. Torts was doing it for years and increased it this year when he got Nash. AV is probably it's biggest proponent but he needs to be open minded and judicious in it's use.
