@Bruffins @Mcost61 @Cameron19  Polak and Robidas were around 20:00 toi as opposed to Gleason and ranger who averaged 17:00, Gardiner can skate better than Gunner so I think if they drop Gards and Phan TOI to around 22:00 the others can step up

I agree look at the depth ahead of Polak in St Lou...Gunner wasn't getting it done here come crunch time. Maybe not his fault being used as a #2 vs a 4/5 guy that he is, but time to move him out and try something new. Polak seems to be defensively steady from the back end with more size and bite than Gunner but less offence...but we will gets lots of points from the back end from Reilly and Gards and Phaneuf...

I just reviewed game 7 in Boston...(owch)...guess who was on for the 3 Boston goals in the 3rd...and too soft on 2 of them. Kulie. For anyone interested these are the guys who were on for the 3 3rd period goals and then the OT goal...and the goals came due to general soft (or tired or both) play of the people on the ice, mainly Kulemin .Phaneuf and Gunner

-

2nd goal - Grabbo Mac Kulemin Gardiner Franson

3rd goal - Grabbo Mac Kulimen Phaneuf Gunner

4th goal - JvR McClement Kulemin Phaneuf Gunner

OT winner - JVR Grabbo Kessel Gardier Franson

Komorov McClement Orr/Bodie DAmigo...when can Komorov be NHL available???

-

Komorov, Bodie, Damigo,McClement can all do 3rd line injury fill ins for the short term and probably not look too bad.

-

Raymond is a tough one I like his speed and usual 20 goal production but he is a bit soft and I would like to see Holland get a chance to develop vs. keeping Raymond.

-

On Bozak...since he returned from injury in 20 games he has 8 goals and 13 assists for 21 points. First line C numbers.

-

Prediction: Marty St Lou will be a major factor in the teams success in Sochi. IF he gets the ice time from the coach.

@peterbleafs I would agree...Bozak if back in 5 games will help...I am ok with Bozak Kadri McClement as the 1,2,3...but if there is a trade it should be for a big solid hitting #4 defensive center who can win draws...I think this Smithson guy might be the right fit. 55% on faceoffs last year albeit he didn't play a full season.

@Coldincowtown Good analysis on Grabbo, lots of passion and speed, but at the end of the day what is accomplished...as opposed to Bolland, smart calculating effective 2 way center that scores big goals. Glad to hear Colborne is doing better, maybe more comfy out west closer to home?

Clarkson rules. He will be fine in this fan base, Leafs fans always love a gritty hard working guy that will drop em on occasion. I'm sure he will be all nerves in the first period but he will settle in. I am also happy McLaren is back soon, I think his value is often overlooked. Seeing Orr and McLaren sitting side by side staring at the opposition with slight grins on their faces is amazing.

@Komas Taberle @Pent_House Agree...what message would it have sent to the other kids if Colborne was awarded an undeserved spot. That game against Detroit all the pups skated their hearts out except Colborme...if he was a 3rd rounder 6'1 200 lbs no one would have batted an eye about this Calgary trade...and as BB said...if a GM wins all his trades no one will deal with him eventually...I am sure their will be some sort of return favour in the future between BB and Nonis where we get the benefit.

@Gilbey93 @Irishfanman I would agree on Raymond as he is a proven commodity...however he is recovering from a back injury or at least from what I have read it affected his game in the recent past. Just that some people were looking at him as a top six option...too soon for that in my opinion. I would like to see Colborne given lots more ice time to see if he gets going...big guys take longer to get up to speed. At least...on the ice...lol

@Gilbey93 @mcloki I saw that at the blue line when that little weasel burned him...pagaette or whatever......I attributed that error to his past year in the AHL where he could get away with that risky play...he still needs some time to adjust to the NHL skill and pace but it looks like he will...

Percy Ranger and Gunner all play the same style, gotta say Ranger is the bigger better tougher version so far. Nice!

-

Reilly I would keep for the 9 nhl games and have him play every second game or so to stretch out the time here...he can learn tons from the pressbox over a short term and still practice at nhl level and play safe minutes in selected games...then send him back west, let him play world jrs...then hopefully his team will miss playoffs again and he came come to Marlies to assist with a playoff run...don't know if they will though, pretty green down there.

-

As far as Raymond being the answer...I tend to take pre season with a grain of salt...l;ets wait till the final 2 or 3 pre season games when rosters are more NHL calibre to see how Raymond does...in the same vein Colborne should have been doing much better against the more AHL calibre opponents so far...if they keep playing him he will have an even tougher opposition in the next few pre season games.

@heatdreamer @GreekGod @peterbleafs @Alec Brownscombe @Yaknowwhat I foresee Ranger by game 9 quickly showing he is back in form ..Ranger is a stronger version of Gunner...Gunner traded only because he is more movable than Liles...Franson signed...problem solved...

Percy and Finn are similar, Gunner and Granberg as well,  so Liles and Percy or Finn or Gunner for something up front...gotta say though, both Percy and Finn seem like keepers...hmmm...what to do...what to do...

@thelongroad @leafscapguru In effect we would be trading Kulemin for Kadri and Franson and a prospect...I would do that trade. But another one is trade Liles and Percy and Leivo and retained salary for a prospect, Kadri and Franson. These are the types of factors to look at when looking at keeping Kulemin Franson or Kadri. Obviously Liles has got to go, PMD we already have with Gards, Phaneuf, and Reilly on the near horizon.
