@ingy56 @docmma He is the one of only a few players who has actually shown up to play every game so far.

@docmma Unfortunately likely Lupul. Gardiner and Franson as well.

@Conis @Mcost61 They've been saying that since about 1996....not sure it's ever going to happen. Just ask Bouwmeester.

@In it to Winnik

Based on the rest of the season i would predict something like 6-2 or 5-1. Also based on the rest of the season, which team is the 5 and which is the 2 could go either way.

There have been two Leaf teams so far this season. It's just a matter of which one decides to show up.

@steele123 Yes, because either way over 82 games we are not going to be bad enough to pick first, and we definitely are not going to be lucky enough to pick first.

@Whalz While I don't think Carlyle should shoulder the blame for the play so far (as the problem has been a lack of effort) I do hope that he gets fired sooner rather than later so that we can see if it sparks the players. If not it might make it clear that major trades need to be made at the deadline.

@Yaknowwhat It makes no sense. There is enough talent on this team that they should be doing well. It just seems that the guys who matter most, care the least.

@peterbleafs @Mcost61 Kadri is one of a handful of players who actually looks like he gives a crap out there right now.

@Yaknowwhat There is enough individual talent on this team that things shouldn't be this bad. Therefore there has to be either a coaching problem, or a personality/effort problem.

@dlb Mad

JVR - Kopitar - Stamkos

Kadri - McDavid - O'Reilly

Leivo - Eichel - Brown

Komarov - Gauthier - Santorelli

I dunno, pretty weak looking lineup ;)

@Xxxxxnew Or Burke picked up Kessel knowing how hard it would be to land any kind of star player and jumped on his opportunity to do so when the chance presented itself.

@Wilsonfan4life I said it earlier...4th line winger. It's not ideal, but if you want him in that's a place to put him.

2 weeks, 3 days ago on Leafs Notebook – October 14

@Burtonboy Loose is a good description. He has such effortless skating that I think sometimes he stops thinking and gets into a zone where he plans like it's a beer league scrimmage just floating around the ice.

@Burtonboy Meet Jake Gardiner... 4th line winger!

@Burtonboy Yep, so looks like Boston is going without a designated goon too.

@ProfessorRance @Burtonboy He's going to be there until an injury, trade, or someone outside of Robidas/Phaneuf shits the bed

2 weeks, 3 days ago on Leafs Notebook – October 14

@TheLoovTrain I would stick with the current lines after the last win. If any change is made is should be on line 4, or a JVR/Lupul swap. Lupul has been hot and might be able to ignite Kessel, whereas the demotion might get JVR going. Plus JVR looked good playing with Kadri in pre-season.

@T K O @colino17 I'm not saying that it will be a constant rotation. More likely than not one guy will sit the majority. But if another guy struggles whoever is sitting will get another shot.

2 weeks, 3 days ago on Leafs Notebook – October 14

Reply

@T K O Disagree. Maybe you go down that road once Booth returns and roster numbers require it, but right now Percy deserves to stay. An injury or trade will happen soon enough anyway I'm sure and until then whoever is cold between Gardiner/Franson/Percy/Polak will sit.

@Darkside Beleafer @Yaknowwhat He has the same problem that the entire team does...consistency.

@dlb Mad I'm a Phaneuf supporter, but so far this season he has been really slow moving the puck when he gets it in the corners. He is almost always the first guy there, but by the time he decides what to do he has a forechecker on him. I'm not sure if its just rust, or if he can't think the game from the left side but something is off.

2 weeks, 3 days ago on Leafs Notebook – October 14

@Yaknowwhat He has been the worst D so far I would say. Phaneuf and Robidas have both also struggled but they aren't going to be scratched, nor should they as they need all the games they can get to work on chemistry and to shake off Robidas' rust.

@loomx @Yan28 Right now line 4, ideally, is an energy and tertiary scoring line.

@Burtonboy @colino17 I think if Percy continues to impress and Dion fails to adjust to the left then you have to move Franson.

@Zep2 It was on both, Phaneuf lost his battle and Bernier went down low too early. Doesn't matter though, it's one goal and they are both still our best players in their respective positions.

@Black_Hawk We can send him down anytime, but he'll be exposed to waivers again if we do and then someone else can claim him.

3 weeks, 1 day ago on Maple Leafs claim Richard Panik off the waiver wire

@Black_Hawk @colino17 Shouldn't matter, 2-way has nothing to do with waiver status. Just means that his salary varies depending on whether he is NHL or AHL.
