This looks hauntingly gorgeous.
What?! No mention that Hiroki Kikuta is doing the music for this game?! Now I DEFINITELY have to push for this to hit WiiU!

@Zteking Probably because they're afraid of losing money. They don't want to gamble on a system that they feel will not be worth the return investment. JRPGs cost money and time to make, and given that WiiU so far has yet to be a proven ground for JRPGs, it's up to XENOBLADE X to be a smash. Fortunately there are hopeful signs that it will be.
1 week ago on The Importance Of Xenoblade Chronicles X
@Wanderlei PS4 DOES have FFXV and KH3, but those two aren't going to be out for some time now.
Everything that is in this article is absolutely true. The success of XENOBLADE CHRONICLES X could very well see third party publishers decide to port similar projects to WiiU. This game succeeds, we could very well get another KH. Or maybe DQXI. Maybe even an exclusive FF. But this game is absolutely crucial to succeed; if ANYTHING is to change, this game must be a hit.
I wouldn't say the WiiU is devoid of RPGs altogether; aside from the VCs, we've seen CHILD OF LIGHT, PIER SOLAR HD, CITIZENS OF EARTH, and ALPHADIA GENESIS. Now granted this IS a small start, but the success of XBCX could spearhead WiiU as a JRPG platform. Fear not, though; the game IS highly anticipated in Japan; the XBCX bundle was in the top ten for its first week, and it's not often a WiiU bundle gets into the top ten in anything Amazon, period. So there is hope.
It's a damn good thing they're bringing SPLATOON to PAX East. They're counting on this to be a system seller, and I hope it is.
1 week ago on Nintendo Heading PAX East 2015 – Lineup Confirmed
Well for one thing, ABSOLUTELY BRING DRAGON QUEST VII AND DRAGON QUEST X STATESIDE. There's absolutely NO excuse for these two titles to stay only in Japan. They deserve to be in Western hands. That and also, give WiiU DQXI. If it wants to show up on PS4, fine, but make sure WiiU gets it, too.
1 week, 1 day ago on Square-Enix’s Matsuda Teases More Dragon Quest Announcements For The West
@Wanderlei I do hope it does, but a lot of people are already saying it's too late for WiiU and that it's done for, that SSBWiiU and MK8 were the only chances it had and it's still doing badly. Um, what? I don't know WHAT they're talking about. I don't believe in the "too late" gimmick.

I'm sure there will be other third party titles on WiiU this year aside from this. Nonethtless, this looks cool.
1 week, 1 day ago on Rodea: The Sky Soldier Pre-Order Available on Amazon; Release Date Leaked?
Does it stink? Yes. However, that doesn't necessarily mean we won't get another "Resident Evil" on Nintendo platforms. If Capcom really didn't want to put RE on Nintendo platforms after RE2 didn't do so great on N64 they would have stopped a long time ago. But they didn't. They still gave gamers the RE series on GameCube. And three entries on Wii. Even a WiiU port of the 3DS game in question! So I haven't given up on seeing another Resident Evil on WiiU or 3DS, or Nintendo platforms in general. But is it disappointing that this game is not confirmed for either 3DS or WiiU? Absolutely.

He DOES have a point. If thirds want to port to WiiU they will have to put effort into their work, not rush it. That said, both sides have to be willing to compromise. I don't see this article as a statement that they're saying "FU to thirds", but as something that is matter of fact.

Badass move. And already AmazonJP is eating it up. It jumped to #3 over the weekend and is still in the top ten this week.

Why not an option for both? Both games are five-star masterpieces; not only two of the best JRPGs during the 16-bit era, but arguably Square's best ever.

1 month, 2 weeks ago on The Time is Now: Good RPG Series to Add to the Wii U Library
I absolutely triple this.
I too, wish to see a new TALES hit WiiU. TALES OF SYMPHONIA was one of my favorite games of all time, and Baba HAS said that "nothing's impossible" when asked about WiiU potentially getting a TALES from what I remember. Granted he doesn't have plans, but still, things CAN change. Given that Namco Bandai just had a success with SMASH BROS., I can see them slowly stepping it up.
I've also mentioned repeatedly that I want to see KINGDOM HEARTS 3 on WiiU. C'mon, this is a series that is perfectly tailored to the WiiU fan base. That SE has yet to respond why they have yet to announce a WiiU port is also infuriating. Luckily there IS a movement you can join to help make it possible.
Despite falling from grace so many years ago, I'm still sure that there are some gamers who would still like to see FFXV. Now THAT one is a wild card. It COULD turn out to be OK, but it could also turn out to be a train wreck. Either way, the return of this franchise to a Nintendo platform is long overdue. If not then at least a new FFCC. But who knows.
WiiU absolutely NEEDS DRAGON QUEST XI. Given that WiiU's about to receive another update to DQX 3.0 in the same time that XBCX is about to hit, hopefully that will bring more of the JRPG audience to the system.
Either way, WII NEED MORE JRPGS!
Good. They need to keep type momentum going. The WiiU has gotten back on its feet, and Nintendo needs to keep their customers interested. They don't want the train to derail this soon.
1 month, 3 weeks ago on Nintendo Direct Incoming on Jan. 14th at 9 AM EST
@secretgamer @JonTurner @daywreck Not just third parties. Nintendo, too, made some mistakes. Both sides erred in their approach.
1 month, 3 weeks ago on Why Aren’t These Games on Wii U?
@daywreck @JonTurner No I understand. Those Western guys behaved absolutely irresponsibly. There is no question about it. But others are either afraid of losing money or on verge of going broke. The problem is quite complex.
@daywreck @JonTurner @airsyx @atran4692 That game is still coming to PS4, though, and they're still doing console/handheld games, but only sparsely. That said I don't think they would refuse a second party collaboration with Nintendo. Especially if it proves to give them confidence that their game CAN sell on a console.
@daywreck @airsyx @JonTurner @atran4692 The reason why it hasn't been on WiiU is because Capcom is actually not doing particularly great right now.
Remember how last year there were reports on how they were teetering dangerously close to bankruptcy? Well, that may have something to do with it. So I don't think it's just bias against Nintendo alone. Money is also an issue. If they're afraid to gamble on a system that so far has yet to provide a third party hit then of course they're afraid to do it. It has nothing to do with being against Nintendo. It's financial problems.
@airsyx @daywreck @atran4692 I don't know anymore than you do, and like I said it's just a rumor. However, I think rather than assuming we won't get those games why don't we just watch and see how this plays out. Remember that Nintendo likes to keep things secret, and that probably includes third party titles as well. When they don't come out and tell us what's happening than we all go around in circles and make assumptions that may or may not prove to be true.
As for Konami, the problem is on them, not Nintendo. They've basically gutted all their main franchises except MGS and are taking it in the wrong direction. If they DO come back to WiiU they have to fix themselves too.
@daywreck Here's the thing, too. We shouldn't go around acting like thirds were all intentionally trying to bury WiiU alone that got the system into its predicament. Nintendo, too, made its share of errors. Giving the system a name that baffled the public. Not doing a very good job of making said people clear about what it truly was (a new HD system? An upgrade?) Not hyping/marketing the console as strongly. Having their own launch lineup consist of two games that the public wasn't as crazy about in the same way that they were Wii Sports and Twilight Princess. Nintendo Land wasn't Wii Sports. Nor was New Super Mario Bros. U Twilight Princess. They did not have the same "OMG! Must have" impact that those two did. Doing little to silence critics of the console. Delaying their games in the launch window and having them release much later than intended.
@atran4692 They were low, but… (SHHH!) Capcom is still working on something for WiiU. It COULD be an original RESIDENT EVIL that takes advantage of the Gamepad instead. OR, we could end up getting REVELATIONS 2 in the future. Who knows. Either way, don't write it off just yet.
@daywreck @JonTurner Ubisoft HAS gotten stupid and EA has gotten bad, yes. But those are WESTERN third parties. I haven't heard any such cracks from companies like Namco, Capcom, SE, or even anyone down in Japan. That must mean that at least those guys are working on something.
But yes, Ubisoft IS going downhill. NO questions about it.
Look, when you tell me that I'm "wrong" and that you're right, there's a problem here. The whole "hatred against WiiU" is only excluded to certain publishers, not the whole third party industry as a whole. If it was the whole industry then we wouldn't get Bayonetta 2, Hyrule Warriors, or Devil's Third. Nor even Rodea. So yes it's true that SOME thirds have grudges against Nintendo, but others have probably moved on.
There's nothing wrong with WiiU? Sorry, but that's not altogether true. There still are many things about the system that Nintendo could stand to do better. It's a great system, no doubt, but there are still improvements to be made. They're getting there though.
No, the third party industry is not against Nintendo. They just want money, that's all. And if they can't make a profit they won't do it.
That said, yes, I agree with all those choices; they SHOULD be on WiiU. And hopefully they will be in the future. The console is doing better lately and hopefully some of those will hit on WiiU.
Add KINGDOM HEARTS 3 to the list. It needs to be on the WiiU.
Furthermore, there is a rumor that there are indeed some third party exclusives headed to WiiU (but take it with a grain of salt!). Namco, Capcom, and maybe SE are all working on secret projects for WiiU, but we don't know WHAT it'll be just yet. It's a rumor. So take it as such. But I don't think it's' as hopeless as you say.
There IS a rebound, albeit a modest one. Claimers are saying WiiU is doing worse than ever, but there's no proof of that. If it's up YoY, then that means it's making improvements.
1 month, 3 weeks ago on Nintendo Rules Japan Holiday Sales, Mystery Wii U Games in 2015?, Apex/Smash Team Up – WiR 1/10/15
Getting third parties back from the West is a lost cause. Period. Those guys ain't gonna be coming back.
Now Japan may be a bit more willing since the WiiU has at least has been doing a bit better over there. It is ahead of PS4 LTD overall over there and it still had a good holiday.
Remember, too, that there are other upcoming exclusives that Nintendo is commissioning third parties to produce. Some of these may be collaborations like HYRULE WARRIORS or SMT x FE, or others might be unexpected exclusives like DEVIL'S THIRD and BAYONETTA 2. There was a rumor that three more such exclusives from third parties will be coming our way to WiiU.
Furthermore, I picked up on a rumbling from a guy at GoNintendo who seemed to have it that Namco, Capcom, and maybe SE are doing new projects for WiiU. Now take this with a grain of salt, but this is the link:
Like I said, this is JUST a rumor.
It would be REALLY awesome if DQXI comes to WiiU as well. THAT would make the system REALLY kick butt over there.
1 month, 3 weeks ago on Yoji Hori Reveals Several New Dragon Quest Projects In Development
@Cubits That's not the reason PS4 had that boost that week. There was a DQ Metal Shine edition. THAT'S the real reason it had that jump, The effect of it was temporary though, because as you see WiiU jumped even higher the subsequent week, while PS4 dropped. Not only that, but SSBWiiU is still in the top 5.

@Paleselan When is that going to be?
SMASH is already at 1 million; the 245k sold in Japan + 770 already make it above that.
Also important: WiiU had its best week since launch week on the week of Nov. 23rd. That's EXTREMELY good, and hopefully December's weeks will be this good. WiiU deserves it. Its sales are up YoY by far.
There is hope.
