@HHT Patrick Roy was very superstitious.

Its not like they're sitting there saying everything is peachy after a loss, we just need to stop saluting the fans. It just gives everybody something else to focus on, and keep the players distracted.

This is the definition of Toronto's over-analysis.

@FRyan The solution is to draft more kids from the OHL.

@Shafty I thought he was better than the public thought last year. The only reason to trade him is if he's player far stronger than capable of sustaining- which I do not believe.

I keep him.

@ingy56 @MaxwellHowe I think, in particular, the fans at the rink deserve no more than the game they pay to see. No extra respect for the suits that own oft-empty seats.

@sniperstar *Nemestikov. Kind of reminds me of Goudreau on the Flames, albeit in only 1.5 periods of play tonight. Small and crafty.

@Burtonboy I wonder how many of these players were 18yo but also not in the SHL as rookies. Does that give Nylander a leg up, already being used to 'playing against men' in this league?

I know the general consensus has Bozak blamed for our top line's deficiencies [insufficiencies], but for a while now I've seen JvR as the weakest link. While he looked more dangerous on the second line, he easily could be blamed for half of the goals against over the last two (small sample size for this point, my general opinion has been stagnant for longer) games. I guess it is his age, cap hit and high-profile at a young age that appeal to many, but if it were me, when Lupul is back I try him on the top unit again.

Even further, I'd try a different winger on that line even if Lupul isn't healthy. Leivo (I know many wanted him 'in a position to succeed' a la Kings model; is he even a LW or RW?) or Komorov might be worth a shot.

JvR I think said to the media that perhaps they (he and Bozak) try too hard to get the puck to Phil, and they needed to be reminded they were out there to make a difference. I had hoped a few games away was enough of a wakeup call.

EDIT: Thank you.

@Savo43 Richards would not be the main player coming back but Lupul is the main player going there. Would love Brown, but then our 1C position isn't changed, and Richards wouldn't be the one to change it.

@Bring the Cup Home Need Lupul back to do it properly though, unless RC has a brain re-wiring and tries a rookie (Leivo?) in a position to succeed.

@MaxwellHowe @BPsotka @Jmessih well I wouldn't be.  Neither of these goalies needs protection. Reimer doesn't deserve to sit,  and I don't think either goalie has proven to be superior.

@Jmessih IThink it's ridiculous.  Reimer. Had a hell of a record against the pens,  and has been the better goalie so far this year. But RC has it in his head that Bernier is the number one so he gets all of the first of back to backs.

We have the best tandem in the league.  Use it.

@StanSmith @BPsotka @Burtonboy Throwing it higher and harder would have been the set play, if in fact Rielly was in the wrong. It was analyzed well on TV: right off the glass would make a footrace between JvR and the senator defenseman.

@LyGuy @BPsotka I think that's because he's afraid to get caught (either fully blocked shot or the forward entirely closes the gap and pokes it away). I think he could use his speed to give himself more time, and better positioning.

Offensively, I think I'd like to see Rielly hold onto the puck longer. His speed could get him closer to the net before he shoots/passes the puck.

On the other hand, I'd like to see Gardiner shoot faster. Against most teams, he gets pushed off the puck when trying something like last night's goal and we don't get any chances on it. That said, I liked that he noticed Buffalo was caught watching/ chasing him and not protecting their net front.
