@Say my Name If Hank is Back on 3/24 Against the KINGS, there are 11 games left at that point. Give Talbot the start on 2 of the back back series &@ Boston 3/28 & @NJ 4/7 as well as the 4/2 game @ MIN) Hank get s 8 starts to see if the rust is gone & if he's ready for a playoff run. Talbot is also kept reasonably fresh in that period. It's good problem to have. Having said that, i'm fully confident the King will regain his form and durability.

So far , no call up from Hartford for Wednesday's game. I guess Shepherd is moving to the middle on the 3rd or 4th line and Hayes is sliding over to Wing with Step & Kreider.... ?
@Rangersflatbrim Hank is the face of the Franchise, they aren't trading him, at least not in the near future. Hank is still an elite net minder. Talbot is playing really well with a really good team in front of him but Hank has been a Monster since he came into the league. I would be hesitant to hand (Prince) Talbot the keys to the castle. They want him to retire a Ranger and hang #30 up in the rafters.
@Billfrom Brookhaven @Scott from SEC 224 @ATCRyan If he knocks someone out they will. At least it would be answer. And he wouldn't even have to play every night. Worth a look I say.

@thenyrblogneill @ATCRyan @Scott from SEC 224 @Gianni74 If he's got fracture he would almost certainly miss that much time. Is Hank currently on LTIR? ( imiss capgeek)
@ATCRyan @Gianni74 Can they put him on LTIR?
@ATCRyan Give McLRath a look. May need some toughness finishing out the year. If AV thinks Glass is a deterrent, than an actual tough guy would be boon against teams like Philly & Boston, Islanders...(i'm looking at you Matt Martin)

@Medvjed004 http://stats.nhlnumbers.com/teams/NYR?year=2015 Looks like 750 K.
@gravey94 @Scott from SEC 224 Yep and miracles aren't all that frequent but "I BELIEVE IN MIRACLES!!!! YES!"
@gravey94 If Slats can trade Glass for anyone, that would be a miracle.
@cb1 Not as good as Cap Geek but........ http://stats.nhlnumbers.com/teams/NYR?year=2015
@JoeyKocur No one is taking Glass.... If anyone does, they are drunk.
Maybe look at at Jay McClement or Riley Nash from the Canes for a bottom 6 forward
MCClement is a little better on draws but Nash plays wing as well.

With Bruins & Hawks looking to fill holes in their lineup (Krejci & Kane respectively) I think Arizona GM Don Maloney is going to hold fast on a 1st round pick and a high end prospect for Vermette.
@ATCRyan Roussel's got 3 years @2.5 Mil per left on his deal. i just don't see the Stars in selling mode unless the Rangers really overpay (JT Miller Skeij or plus a 2nd rounder) Which i don't see happening either.
@ATCRyan No way that happens but one can dream.
@wherewasi I only see the kid getting a start if Talbot gets hurt. Working with Allair is gonna benefit him in the long run at the very least.

@DP_Snotty @ObviouslyTwoPointsAreGreat Hey, where do you stream games from?
My girlfriend and I got to spend some time out of town and still want to catch the boys.

@Gorangers0525 @IcyCup @GiveGartneraCup I'd take his 16 points, 130 PIM's 102 Hits & +3 rating over #15..
@TomDundie the Cap number is the Annual Average Value (AAV) of the total deal.
So if its 5 years 25 Million (Brassard's deal) The cap hit is 5 each year even though his salary's are 7, 6, 5, 3.5, 3.5)
No bonuses in deals anymore except for entry level deals and 1 year over 35 year old deals.
I think a 4 year deal for 17.5 million will get Zuc in the fold.
2 months ago on Conversation @ http://nyrangersblog.com/2015-articles/report-no-trade-coming-for-zuccarello.html
@Better Call CK If Slats can move Glass to ANYONE he will be pulling a "Gomez" on them.

Guess I can scratch Hanzal off my wish list. Santorelli just became a hotter commodity.
@GregQuinn @Scott from SEC 224 I don't think Duclair could fill Hagelin's role. I also don't want to put too much stock in what they will get out of a 20 year old Duclair. Teams that win, need guys like Hagelin. He does almost all of his scoring at even strength, he's a plus player for his career. His numbers may seem unremarkable but his production, defensive play, and his speed all make him a more than valuable top 9 forward. AV also doesn't like playing the kids so much, he trusts Hagelin in key defensive situations. part of the reason he has 3 empty net goals is because AV wants him out there in protecting a 1 goal lead .That being said, they have to be pretty tight on what they offer him.
Offer Zuc 4 years 17.5 Million
Offer Hags 3 years 10.05Million
I'd let MSL walk at the end of the season, unless you lose Zuc , then offer him a 1 year incentive laden deal.
1 year 4.35 base.
@Barry Beck I'd rather try to resign Zuccarello.

@dylonergan i see the Rangers signing Evgeny Nabakov off the Tampa scrap heap. He's cleared waivers and is an UFA. I think they want a veteran presence behind/with Talbot. If they deal for a more established goalie, i'm thinking the injury is potentially more serious than they are letting on.
@gravey94 @Scott from SEC 224 Vokun & Giguere have retired. Thomas is technically a UFA but has't played anywhere since last season. Pickings are slim.
@gravey94 @Scott from SEC 224 They aren't going to go forward with Skapski as Talbot's back up , even for just a month. I see some veteran retread coming in.
1 Month would be 14 games.... Need to find another more veteran back up.... Nabakov?
@ObviouslyTwoPointsAreGreat I think Lindberg should get a look as well as MclRath. Winning some more draws (Rangers are 28th in face Off wins) and adding some toughness to the Blue Line (he wouldn't need to dress every night and when he does, you get to sit Glass!) are 2 things this club desperately need. Why not look in house first?

@SmellyKisio @J_CKfor30 Kane is owed 18 Million over the next 3 years with 5.2 AAV Cap hit. That would make it tougher to fit in Stepan, Zucarrello and any of the RFA's. He needs a change of scenery but not Broadway.
Team needs some size and a center that can win some draws. (& a more physical presence on the blue line) That's why I like Hanzal as an option. It's all about what would go back in return.
Never really sold on him, but AV doesn't want to play the kids so, he's worth a look.
@Billfrom Brookhaven I think the Rangers need to pass on this guy.
@Wallace1 i like Hanzal. he's got good size 6,6 -230 , some offensive upside , only 27 with 2 years on his deal left for a 3.1 MIL Cap Hit. He actually has a slightly better FO % than vermette as of today. (although it's a smaller body of work)
Hanzal is currently injured although he's "Day to "Day"
He would cost more to get and either way, the Rangers would need to clear some cap space.
I say Miller, J.Moore and a 3rd Round pick. (that doesn't help the cap issue, maybe have to move another asset like Hagelin or Zucccarello in a another deal , and then i'm not sure the deal makes any sense.
Sine Cap Geek is done, any sites up that calculate trades and Cap Hits?
@dylonergan @_Jack @betweentheworlds http://www.hockeyfeed.com/breaking-news-shocking-details-behind-evander-kane-story-revealed/
I don't want this guy.
In the short term for the Month up until the 3/2 trade deadline let's address 2 needs potentially "in house"
Face offs and some Toughness.
Call up Lindberg, see if can slot in on the 3rd line. He can win face offs, lets see if he can in the show. Let Hayes play more on the wing.
Call up McRlrath and add him into the lineup against the tougher (e Eastern Conf teams) You can sit Glass those days. Rotate MclRath & Moore. Hunwick has played more games than anyone expected and him sitting in the press box isn't the end of the world. If we can deal Moore, he be back in with MclRath as 6 A & g B.

@TomDundie ARI is going to want a prospect and a pick, someone they can control salary(mostly) for the next 6 years. I'd still like to see the Rangers pursue Martin Hanzal from ARI, if they are truly having a fire sale. He'd cost more but wouldn't be a rental.
If Arizona is selling, I'd rather make a run at Martin Havlat. Big Kid (6'6), 2 more years at a 3.1 AAV on his deal and hes a beast in the FO circle. Gonna have to give to get though...(JT Miller, Halverson and a 3rd rounder ?????? )
I still Like Eric Gryba D OTT and Zack Smith C/W OTT (No idea what kind of package to offer but Ottawa should be selling)

@GiveGartneraCup @Scott from SEC 224 @GregQuinn As long as the Rangers make a QO, they can't lose him for nothing. he can pick arbitration for 1 or 2 years and historically, they favor the club.
If Step selects arbitration, the rangers pick the term. If the Rangers elect arbitration, the Rangers pick the term (1-2 years).
If Step picks arbitration OR the Rangers elect arbitration, Step can NOT sign an offer sheet with another team.
Teams can only take 2 players to arbitration per off season.

@Gianni74 Hindsight is 20/20. They drafted Saguenetti over Giroux in 06 and then there was that 2003 draft...ugh. And then MDZ a few years later as Saguenttei didn't pan out, which is why they passed on Fowler (he dis havea bit of a scandal surrounding him as well ... The whole character issue coming into play...(right or wrong) http://bleacherreport.com/articles/492658-anaheim-ducks-prospect-cam-fowler-how-good-is-cam-fowler
Windosr was fined 400K and had to forfiet 6 OHL picks, although it was not confirmed it was related to Fowler. Same issue with 2010 pick Jack Campbell .
@GregQuinn Step is a RFA so the Rangers have a little bit of leverage. I see him getting the same deal or very similar deal to what Brassard got. Maybe 6 years with a 5 AAV, since hes a bit younger. Bottom line if Steps get an offer like 6 @ 6-6.5 and The Rangers did not match, they would get that teams 2016 1st, 2nd & 3rd round picks. I just don't see him being valued that high by anyone.
@J_CKfor30 O' Relily got that 2 year 12 Mil deal, coming off a 28G - 36A - 64 P season. - 22 PP points, 19:49 ATOI and had 2 PIMs the entire season. They also knew they were losing Stastny and needed to keep a pivot to play behind Duchene., who got 5 years at 6 Million and outproduces Stepan as well.
And so far this year, not looking like so great a deal for COl.
@J_CKfor30 He's a RFA, I don't think anyone is willing to give up a 1st, 2nd & 3rd round picks in the 2016 draft to pay Stepan 6.5 for 6 years.. He may get more years than Brassard (6) based on his age but the Rangers are going to keep that AAV between 5-5.5.
Look at when pivots are getting this year...
@KevinMccarthy @Scott from SEC 224 @J_CKfor30 Im not ready to pull the plug on MclRath but i'm not sure he to projects to an everyday 3rd pair player. (at least not yet) I did see his numbers improving but, i don't get to see Wolfpack games. I see some moves before the deadline.
