@phaneufoundlander @Claymish I don't like that, it means Bernier gets shelled and pulled....not good :p
1 day, 3 hours ago on Dion Phaneuf suspended for two games
Oh dilemma....Play Bernier against his old team L.A., or Reimer against his old teammate Scrivens.
Ranger isn't going anywhere, and give Fraser a break. The guy is playing with at least two injuries, and lets not forget last year among defensemen he was 1st in PIM, 2nd in Hits, 15th in Blocked Shots, and had the 2nd best +/-. So ya not bad considering there are 200 defensemen in the league.

Welcome to the Leafs Vernon Fiddler.....seems very obvious, Dallas loses another veteran D-man, while the Leafs were in town, next day we call up Liles. Add to that Fiddler wants out, coincidence?

D'Amigo will inject some determination into our team and will be with us for the rest of the season if he can get in 5 games to prove his worth. He is a lights camera action performer, and will be a rare player who preforms better at the NHL level than AHL level. Reimer was our December present a couple seasons ago, D'Amigo is this years, mark my words.

Watching the Sharks feed for the game, it was quite entertaining. They said if we had to pay Kessel $8 million just imagine how much more we will have to pay to resign Phanuef lol. Secondly, good stat for the Leafs, they had more hits on the Sharks then what the last 5 teams had combined. Then the other guy not joking says that's disrespectful lmfao.

Great to see the Leafs pressure all three zones. Kadri was a very scary presence, quick smart plays and always putting the body on the guy with the puck. JVR had not a bad game, the most noticeable thing being he hit even more as a center. Finally, surprisingly, I'm developing a level of comfort and feeling at ease when Ranger is on the ice. He is out muscling everyone and knocking pucks away.

Thoughts on Lauri Korpikoski, would it take much to get him? http://forecaster.thehockeynews.com/hockeynews/hockey/player.php?4651

Caryle should inform the team, beat the Canucks (Reimer is in) and they will have 5 days off. A well deserved vacation, to do as they wish. Also state now Bernier is in against the Devils next Friday, hopefully against his idol Brodeur, and Reimer against the Bruins Saturday, like last spring. The team will be pumped for some time off and then pumped to win those two games for their goalies when they get back from vacation.

@Alec Brownscombe @Claymish Imagine, Liles with some prospects (Biggs?) for Girardi.
1 month, 1 week ago on What’s Dion Phaneuf Worth?
Curious...Girardi is a UFA at the end of the year, is a righty and a southern Ontario boy. Rielly/Girardi, Gardiner/Franson would be a very solid top 4, plus we could get him for $2.5 million per cheaper than Phaneuf. Just saying.....
Jake is looking very good now that he is allowed to play his game, Reilly definitely looks like he belongs and does the smart simple plays, and Franson isn't noticeable most of the time which is great, except for the odd big hit, and somehow miraculously always on the score sheet.
Those three are the foundation, of our D moving forward. With all due respect to Dion we need his cap hit to resign Franson and Bolland.
Bolland is a blue and white swiss army knife who we will not be able to resign along with the other core players if we give Dion even $5.5 per on a long term. It boils down to Phanuef or Franson and Bolland.

@Jmessih @Claymish Why not? Toronto doesn't need a 6'7 240 lbs Toronto born D-man who was drafted 14th overall? Dallas needs immediate offense from the back end, we can take our time with Oleksiak.
2 months ago on Leafs Notebook – October 7
Jake Gardiner to Dallas for Jamie Oleksiak would be great for both teams.
The reality is that Frattin was given a chance last year and did pretty well. Come playoffs Colborne impressed so with the opportunity to get a blue chipper in Bernier we had to lose Frattin. Also management knew Clarkson was going to be signed for the second line. It was acceptable because Colborne had to play this year and we didn't want both them in the line-up. Now training camp comes around and it is evident we have quite few prospects with more fire and desire to play than Colborne. Namely Ashton, who was all but written off, he is the reason for the trade because he looks like n NHLer now.

On any other team Kadri would have received at least a Hendrique deal. Helpfully the Kadri bashers will finally shut it, he took team deal.

Dave Nonis just shatted himself, $4 million per for Henrique....Kadri has his ammunition now.

@wiski @The_Polish_Cannon @The Toronto Maple Leaf Ya it would be scary that Ovie would never get the puck and would lay a smack down on Grabo after 10 games with no points.

BOLD PREDICTION.....Early into the 13/14 season Phaneuf will substain an injury and be out for 1-2 months. Gardiner will get the added ice time and the Leafs will be a much better team, going on a long winning streak, and giving up less goals. This will prompt management to realize signing Phaneuf long term will be a mistake and they will trade his rights at the deadline.
