@paulcarr @MJ2k12 Your article mentions Apple is only not accepting people who have been charged with/convicted of a felony. Yet I don't see any stats in your article stating what percent of californian's eligible for work have been charged with/convicted of a felony. (which is 12.5%). All I see is a random unrelated stat on people who have a criminal record which has no correlation to the percent that are eligible to work for Apple.

Mark Ames, your opening paragraph mentions Apple isn't hiring people convicted/charged with a felony. But then later you provide statistics for people simply charged of a crime which of course any intellgent person knows is completely different than a felony.
So I'm sure you realize the actual stats and source you meant to link to are 1 in 8 californians are eligible workers convicted/charged of a felony. That is 12.5% (not 30%). Source: http://www.cepr.net/documents/publications/ex-offenders-2010-11.pdf.
@alykat9008 Nope. TripIt isn't allowing it on the new version, because the new version of Flight Track 5 offers too many features for free and better than what tripit is charging for. There was an incredible public backlash from all the users to TripIt but TripIt has shown no signs of remorse and so instead now Flight Track company is building their own email itenary web side interface this year so we can all eventually completely drop TripIt.

Flight Track Pro was replaced by FlightTrack 5 back when this post was posted. Newest version is: https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/id716913565?mt=8
@chriscallsen TripIt has been caught with their pants down and now that everyone is onto what really happened I think they have decided to stop commenting on the matter completely since anything they say now would be a lie or further hurt their reputation. Think they are simply going to ride it out that is not support the new FlightTrack and we will simply have to wait until Mobiata releases their own tracking via email at which time everyone can leave TripIt in masses. TripIt is not going to make right but this issue.

@Makapav @remarkUP @Hirschberg Oh that's weird. I wonder why on their site they list managing all your expedia itineraries through the app: http://www.expedia.com/app also on the mobiata site for expedia they have a whole section on how the app manages all your expedia itenaries from flights, hotels etc: http://www.mobiata.com/apps/expedia Like I said it stinks that it's like a big ad for microsoft in that its limited to expedia. But if your saying it infact doesn't do anything for itenary management as both websites list please do contact Expedia and Mobiata and let them know to remove the false information. I would but I can't find anything that says that it doesn't do the itinerary management that the websites list.

How do that clarify anything. You allowed FlightTrack support before but now for FlightTrack 5 you no longer off support because you can't come to an agreement as stated by Mobiata. So as of Friday everyone thought TripIt was a greedy disgusting company because of that, and now as of today nothing being posted is changing that. Save your blog posts for when you have something new to announce that shows you putting your customers first.

@scubagarth If you purchase TripIt Pro it will only further fund their pockets and show to the company that people are choosing Tripit over FlightTracker. The only way to get FlightTracker integration will be to "NOT" buy a TripIT Pro subscription unless they ever make an annoucement about such integration.
@Hirschberg FlightTracker now sells another app to do such itenaries however its called "Expedia" and thus while it's a good looking app it's really a big ad for Microsoft.
Rather than them admitting FlightTracker 5 is offering their pro features in a far superior beautiful interface, they are denying users to be greedy. The lack of any response on here shows the same help you will get in the future with them in regards to support or app support.
This is truly a lose lose for customers currently. There are a few ways it will pan out both of which will require that users NOT purchase TripIt Pro or FlightTracker 5. As only a lack of money and incredibly outrage from the user base will cause the two companies to compromise. The compromise will most likely be a ridiculous monthly in app purchase in FlightTracker 5 for TripIt support that will go to TripIt's pocket, that will buy FlightTracker time to build their own competing webservice at which time people can all cancel their TripIt accounts completely and just use FlightTracker (which will also probably be a monthly service except this time paid to FlightTracker instead.
In that scenario TripIt's greed will ultimately kill the company.
Or TripIt will realize how amazing the new app is and how horrible their own new iOS 7 app is and they will buy FlightTracker and use that app instead as their own. That's is the most doubtful however and instead they would probably buy the app like Gmail bought sparrow and send it the the trash can to destroy the competition.
In either case, do not buy FlightTracker until the company is at least able to promise a future plan, whether TripIt integration and cost, or if they will build their own inhouse solution. And more importantly don't buy TripIt Pro as they now represent a ruthless careless company with horrible app and website developers.
In regards to designing a better one, my answer it has already been designed, iOS 6. While I certainly agree that in some places there was too much flare for flares sake, and got in the way of clarity of being direct and functional. But overall using the apps before were fun just made me feel good about using them. As a designer and developer, and Apple fanatic, I've been using the developer version and simply is no longer fun to use or a delight for my eyes. Yes there are some improvements that I'm thrilled about, but it's almost as if I'm no longer excited about those because of the design. But you are correct as am Apple lover for life, I'm not going to be switching to android or any other so iOS 7 as bleak as it is in my eyes is the future and we have to bare with it. And in my case simply focusing on writing bug reports, about 30 so far, and hopefully the design will improve over time as the world provides there feedback. I'm honestly glad everyone is bitching because if enough people do and for instance don't upgrade in the fall because of it Apple will have to reevaulate. Where as a developer, if I write a bug report labelled feature improvement about the design issue it will go completely ignored. I think the majority of consumers are not designers and dont know how to "fix/make a better one" but they do know when something doesn't look right and they should complain and then its up to designers at apple to hear that and make improvements that fit in their over all goals. Well that's what I think at least.
