@ChrisP@gravey94No happy hour at the puck. Biggest gripe with them even though I love the place. They must feel like they don't have to because people will always go there no matter what. But still, a $4 bud light wouldn't kill them.

True story: I sat in the 100's once and spilled a beer and felt compelled to CLEAN IT UP WITH NAPKINS like I was at someones house. I didn't mean to but it was just my gut reaction being down there. I want to be able to spill a beer and not give a crap (or at least a small crap).
Another story: Another time in the 100's it was the lovely 11-12 season and we were playing the coyotes. Less than 10 minutes left in the game or so and it was tied and no one was doing anything. I had to turn around and give a locker room pep talk in my section and yelled at people. It resulted in a full on LGR chant which was one of my proudest moments ha, but that's honestly what it took to get people going. I almost cried from yelling from my heart.
While we're on the topic, here's a thing that annoys me: Why don't the seats go down all the way to the ice? Every other arena in the NHL there are fans around the glass all over. On the side where the benches are there's a row of folding chairs (or so it looks). It makes the garden look lame. Any other arena has seats right down to the glass, and people wearing jerseys in every seat. You see none of that at the garden. In fact, during the playoffs they have to give people t-shirts to make them wear the team colors. It's sad but true. People always say that the Garden is the greatest place in the world, but I don't really think it is anymore.
I think i just repeated myself a bunch of times.

@FREE MASHINTER @shoot_the_goalie Liked that too. Can't remember what the hit was though. Did they show a replay?

@1NYN8V Very cool that your friend still loves going to games! Really amazing that she can hear so much. And with being behind the bench im sure she could hear all the coaches and such. Would love to know what was said by the players, although im sure i can use my imagination ha.

@CJ WHAT?!?! You have to be nuts. The Winter Classic jerseys were the best and were a great compliment to their heritage jerseys.
And I doubt they'll be wearing the same jersey as Winter Classic though. The logos on the pads are completely different. And why would they miss out on a chance to make $$$ off a new one? I'm predicting the 78 jersey like County said

If this somehow makes the garden louder, then I'm all for it.

Every time i check back on this page I write a whole long thing and then delete it.
Basically, they'll get their shit together (i hope), Girardi's words are being twisted, Hank IS NOT MEDIOCRE, have some gosh darn faith, and most of all be grateful that this isn't a shortened season. In ten games we'd be completely fucked.
Also, Boyle has some of THE softest shots on goal last night. Like, putting green soft. Charmin Ultra Soft soft.

Leonard says they sent Nash back to NY. Maybe it's a good sign that he's cleared to fly so soon after?

@FREE MASHINTER @NickCeglia Oh totally agree. Just trying to stay calm for a bit while my insides are throwing a fit haha. SERENITY NOW!

I think everyone should stop talking until December. They haven't produced because they've barely played any games. Let the guys hash it out. It's not the end of the world.......YET
We had the best travel schedule out of everyone last year as well and we took absolutely NO ADVANTAGE of it. Maybe that can change this year.

@KevinDeLury totally agree. And keep it up with the blog! Looking forward to October but I'm sure there will be plenty to post and ponder about this summer

First time poster, long time lurker. Just tweeted about this though. Is Torts actually the worst or are hockey writers just lacking creativity? Oh wow, so Torts didn't answer a question you knew he wasn't going to answer anyway? You're a writer, work your way around it. It's what you're paid to do. Most of the smaller blogs do a great job of covering all aspects of the team without needing a 2 line quote from Torts (especially this blog), so what's the big whoop?
I understand that he might not be the nicest guy, but then again, this isn't pre school. People aren't always going to be nice. Not to compare this to, say, journalists covering wars and whatnot, but I'd be floored to see any other journalist in any other field complain that information wasn't directly given to them.
Of course I've never been in the press room before, but it just seems like the easy way out to complain about it is all. And if you know you'll covering the team, don't you think you'd have a few different doors ready to go through if you don't get the info you want?
Phewf. Okay that's it
