Great article AP!!
Great deal for Gards. Could be a steal of a deal as soon as this season

@KesselJVR Change your 4th line to this:
Komarov Holland Winnik
and you'll have the exact lineup I think we'll see on opening night
3 days, 7 hours ago on Toronto Maple Leafs sign Daniel Winnik to a one-year deal
@Komas Taberle @JMAC17 @CanuckUKinToronto @Cameron19 I don't think they're gonna move Big Buff

@JMAC17 @CanuckUKinToronto @Cameron19 Kane!!
@JMAC17 @Cameron19 I don't think so. Zeus posted here that he had read it. Maybe other people did too but I read it from Zeus anyway.
@CanuckUKinToronto @TheCanucksnaphook It will and it will read:
"All crayons taste the same no matter what colour they are......weird"
@TheCanucksnaphook @4evrblue NEVER!!!
JVR Bozak Kessel
Lupul Naz Frattin
Booth Santorelli Clarkson
You're such a giant asshole!!
@TheCanucksnaphook @skiingallday One of em can go in Clarksons spot for starters, he's terrible on that line lol
Ashton will be a Marlie, book it
3 days, 17 hours ago on Toronto Maple Leafs sign Daniel Winnik to a one-year deal
Seems to be consistently at or on pace for 25-30pts which is solid production for a bottom 6 guy that plays a lot of PK minutes. I like this deal. I'm really starting to like this team.
@Jeff_Mintz He's RFA

@mike_84 @4evrblue We don't have one to give away thats better than Holtby
@mike_84 with their goalies they are gonna need all the help on the blueline they can get
@WesternDP @4evrblue @Jay_Berg Congratulations. You have successfully made a case for a guy that historically fights heavy weights to not be considered a heavy weight fighter in this league. You have also successfully taken one name from an entire discussion and discredited every point I was trying to make. You the man

I'm out folks, great chat and I'd be happy to pick it up again later (only a matter of time really lol)
Have a great Sunday!!

@Burtonboy @4evrblue @Cameron19 @Jay_Berg I agree, staged fights should be a thing of the past. There were a few fights in the playoffs though. 9 according to hockeyfights. http://www.hockeyfights.com/fightlog/1/pos2014
The pure fighters usually sit down in the playoffs and rightfully so. I'm not preaching having pure fighters on the team though.
@WesternDP @4evrblue @Jay_Berg Boll, Brookbank, Peckham, Crombeen, Corrente and Biznasty are heavy weight fighters. I only opened one link and these are the names I see
@Jay_Berg Bodie isn't even dressed in the example above
@Cameron19 @4evrblue @Jay_Berg I could sit here and poke holes in all of these examples all day, as can most of us on here. The point is fighting is shifting away from guys like Parros, Orr and Scott. Fighting still has a place in the game though and I think a good team should take advantage of the effects it can have on the game. Broll could be our guy that plays a 3rd line role and takes the big assignments in the future but he isn't ready yet. In the meantime Bodie is a great guy to have as he can play fairly well. I'd love to see a few more of these guys targeted in trades or later rounds of the draft.
Edit: I will agree on Clarkson, he's done well with standing up for teammates.
@Fish Head @CanuckUKinToronto He was amazing for the IceCaps this year. A lot of "Hutch" chants in the playoffs
@Burtonboy @4evrblue @Jay_Berg We just have a philosophical difference of opinion on what winning fights can bring to a team then.

@Cameron19 @4evrblue @Jay_Berg Some will be more skilled than others. It would be ridiculous to think all teams would have a guy like Lucic. A Kassian or Roussel though? Not out of the question
@Jay_Berg Clowe is washed up yes but that doesn't mean he wasn't a solid heavy weight in his day and no, the time of the heavy weight isn't dead. The future of the heavy weight lies with players like Lucic, Roussel and Bollig...... the heavy weight that the hawks have.
The Habs may have gotten rid of Parros and White (who is a shitty version of a heavy weight) but they still have Prust and Moen. They have guys that will answer the bell.
@Burtonboy @4evrblue @CanuckUKinToronto I should add that I've been preaching this for years. I wanted Clowe for a long time, wanted Engelland before he was overpaid, have always said Kassian would be a solid addition and even said I would settle for guys like Stewart even though he doesn't fight often and Maroon even though he was unproven. A lot of teams are trying to go in this direction. The time of the heavy weight isn't dead. Teams just want a heavy weight that can play.
@Burtonboy @4evrblue @CanuckUKinToronto At what point did I say I wanted pure fighters? We've had this discussion before BB. I want skilled players that can fight. Its why I literally just said if we could get a version of Bodie thats just a little more skilled I'd be thrilled. I believe if he had just a little more skill he could be a 20-30pt guy. Its also why I look forward to Broll making the team someday. He can fight fairly well but can play the game too.
@Burtonboy @4evrblue @CanuckUKinToronto Fighting is part of the game.
I like Bodie. If we could get a version of him thats just a little more skilled I'd be thrilled
@Burtonboy @4evrblue @CanuckUKinToronto Komarov doesn't fight, Ashton can't win when he does and Clarkson is alright in that department
@Mind Bomb @Burtonboy @CanuckUKinToronto Wasn't Bailey rumored from the Isles at one point? I'm not too high on him these days but Anders Lee would be great if they'd let him go
@Burtonboy @4evrblue @CanuckUKinToronto I'd prefer a lineup where we can play 4 lines that aren't full of cream puffs
@Burtonboy @CanuckUKinToronto Thats a Cottonelle lineup
@JMAC17 @4evrblue @Zeus_WilliamMapleLeafs Must be true then. Afterall nobody has ever lied on the internet before, why would they start now?

@dlb Mad @4evrblue He hasn't gotten another game in. Theres your evidence
6 days, 22 hours ago on (Thursday Mashup) David Booth: Another low-risk option with upside potential
@dlb Mad @Cameron19 thats because you are involved in a completely different conversation than the rest of us
@dlb Mad @4evrblue you think this entire conversation is about how Holzer sees things? How he sees things means nothing.
What matters, and what I've been trying to say, is its unfair for management to throw him in over his head and then judge his NHL chances based on that alone.
@dlb Mad @4evrblue make solid points. My opinion is always open to change
@dlb Mad @4evrblue Oh dear. I played high school basketball, should I compare myself to NBA players?
@dlb Mad @4evrblue Connor Brown is a bad example. If Connor Brown was thrown into the AHL on the top line and then returned to Jr. because he didn't produce enough and was looked at as never being able to grow into anything more than a OHL scorer then we'd have a comparable
6 days, 23 hours ago on (Thursday Mashup) David Booth: Another low-risk option with upside potential
@dlb Mad @4evrblue what the fuck does any experience you have had have to do with Holzer? You obviously haven't been in his situation
@dlb Mad @Cameron19 You're pretty much reinforcing what I'm saying. It doesn't seem fair to the guy to be labeled an AHLer judged only on his one stint as a top pairing guy. Seems he should have gotten another chance on the bottom pair to build confidence and work his way up. Seems like bad development practices
@dlb Mad @4evrblue He hasn't gotten a sniff since. It seems management has judged him based on his time playing against very high competition. That doesn't seem fair.
@dlb Mad @Cameron19 He's a guy that has outgrown the AHL and we won't know how good he can be until he gets a little time in the NHL without being thrown in over his head.
