@Burtonboy His plan's not working, we're still not a playoff team. Time to change the agenda.

@Mcost61 @Biltmore Bozak needs to stop picking corners and aim for the mitt. An OT loss would have been credible at this point.

What went wrong last night? How are we supposed to get McJesus if we win? Coaches gotta be held accountable for stuff like this. Kadri needs to "miss" another team meeting so they can bench him the rest of the year. Rielly needs to blurt out something inappropriate in a post-gamer so they can bench him the rest of the year. Komarov needs "appendicitis", Kozun needs a "grandparent to pass away" and Bernier.... okay Bernier's fine, no need to do anything there.

I'd really love for the Leafs to ditch those Ballard-era jerseys for good. Keep the '67 shirts as the regulars (gorgeous), and use an older version for the thirds. I hate that font, hate the maple leaf logo and know it's cursed with the Stain-of-Harold™.

@Radar O'Rielly @peterbleafs @MaxwellHowe Retarded is a medical term for anyone with an IQ below 70. A moron has an IQ between 50-70, an imbecile between 25-50, an idiot has an IQ between 0-25. Mentally retarded is the descriptor for moron, imbecile and idiot. Despite the PC flourish years ago to use the term Intellectually Challenged, the phrase retarded is still a viable medical classification.

Off topic, but I noticed that now all the pressure's off the club to win, Kessel, Bozak and Phaneuf each pop in a goal beat Philly.

@Jon5200 @king leary That's the version that makes sense to me. Nonis can take the heat/accolades, but isn't part of the decision making. When the accolades start surpassing the heat, then he'll be fired.

@docmma @nfavs Because 20 other teams are run by similar idiots is no get out of jail free card for Nonis and his staff. Anyone reading the Devils section at HFBoards would have had a pretty clear idea of Clarkson's worth before that contract was offered. They couldn't wait to see him leave town. Paraphrasing Pavarotti, the mob in the bleachers know the most about who deserves to be on stage.

I as at the ACC for the Russia-Sweden semi-final in the World Juniors. For that game anyway, Nylander played with all the intensity of a guy on an airplane going home.

A couple winters ago after one of my sons complained about the Leafs in the standings, I said to him, "When Kulemin-Grabovski-MacArthur are the third line, then Toronto will be a contender." Now I catch myself daydreaming that Komo-Santa-Whoever is our fourth. Everyone's entitled to their own opinion, so I have little interest in hearing "Grabo wasn't a checking centre" or similar yadda-yadda's.

Clarkson doesn't seem to be falling down as much this season, so I think that sums up the overall progress I've seen the last two years.

Nylander is wonderful to watch live, very slick and graceful. Chiasson and Stone looked good for Ottawa.

Ballard had a plan, it just wasn't about hockey. He cut corners anywhere and everywhere so he'd have more money to buy up Gardens stock. His goal was to own 100%. The rink sold out no matter how many games the Leafs lost, so Ballard had no incentive to put money into the club. If the rink had been half full, it would have played out very differently.
