Really makes me proud that Gardiner is a Maple Leaf when I see him show up to these events for kids with disabilities. Hopefully he sticks around for quite a while.

@dlb Mad @Xxxxxnew Way before my time but I'd guess Ballard had something to do with it.

@docmma Can't get over that this list ranks Kessel lower than Kunitz, Sharp, and a 42 year old Jagr. I don't see how adding +/- gives you a better look at a players worth to a team. By that method Franson and Fraser had the most worth to the Leafs as defenseman in 2012/13. I just can't buy that since it's been proven as fact that both were given extremely sheltered minutes against easy competition. It's a really primitive way of evaluating players and gives a skewed way of looking at their value to a team. If you find this an effective way to look at players than more power to ya, but I don't see it as a useful tool IMO.

@Burtonboy What are you talking about?? Gunnarson getting traded was the biggest move of the summer. Franchise altering trades like that shouldn't be taken lightly BB :P

So if Kadri puts up more points than Bozak this season does it warrant him getting paid more even though he isn't the centre on the top line??

@Alec Brownscombe @Burtonboy I hope Nonis is open to new ideas, or he might be looking for a new job sooner than we think.

@DeclanK Man that scene around the 0:50 mark is intimidating as hell. I counted at least 8 cameras and who knows how many microphones. I can't blame guys feeling a little weird standing in front of that.

@Pent_House @Burtonboy @Cloud09 @mike_84 It's going to look real good if the Leafs can get him on a contract like John Carlson in Washington signed. 6 years $23.8M is right up my alley.

@CanuckUKinToronto @Cloud09 It was all meant to be hypothetical. I doubt you see Reimer take Bernier's spot but my point was the fact he makes less money shouldn't prevent him from taking over the starters spot.

@mike_84 probably a 2-3 year bridge deal but I'd really like to see him get locked into a 5-6 year deal worth $20-25M

@CanuckUKinToronto Timmy out, Shanahan in. Leiweke is too busy bringing in an NFL team to care about who is the starting goalie for the Leafs. Not that it will change much but Bernier being Leiweke's "guy" is a little overblown. That said, if Reimer is outplaying Bernier I doubt the fact he makes less money will factor into him starting fewer games.

@Burtonboy @mcloki @Loric76 End of the season there were rumblings that there were too many voices outside the room that were causing problems for the players. Doesn't surprise me that it was Loiselle and Poulin, both former NHL players.

I love how Dreger/Cox/Simmons are shitting over the Leafs for axing the old guard and trying to beat down Shanahan and Dubas. Shows their true colours and why none of us should give them the time of day.

Real happy Reimer is back. Bernier/Reimer is still going to be on of the best goalie tandems in the NHL and the best bang for your buck bar none.

Yes some in Leafs org blame Reimer for what happened at end of year. Which is part of why they deserved to go.

I'm gonna rephrase Cox's tweet to what it should have said.

Sleeper agent Reimer successfully cleaned out Leafs deadweight in the front office/bench and spurred the biggest management philosophy change since Ballard died.

So safe to say that the majority of people here are now ok with the Leafs? I know almost all of us were ready to break shit from February to the end of June, so it's nice to see everyone get along at the moment.

Weirdness of the biz; Reimer's inability to fill for injured Bernier costs 3 coaches, 2 execs their jobs. And he gets $4.6 million.

@dlb Mad @Cloud09 Raymond looked good in camp as well. And thats not a knock on Raymond but he did trail off as the season wore on, the same can happen with Booth. We know what we have with JVR and I'd rather let him be comfortable and put up points than get him to try out something new and struggle. Booth from what I've heard can play both wings and I'd be putting him on the RW and let him adapt if he shows that he is capable of playing on the top two scoring lines.
