Torts might survive if a new GM comes in an decides to give him a shot. Not likely though. Gilles has to go.

I watched the game on the Anaheim feed. Its amazing how much more respect the Leafs get from the away team broadcast. They wouldn't stop praising Kessel, JVR, Bozak and had a good thing to say about almost any Leaf that touched the puck..

All we get from our "home" broadcasts on CBC is shit about how the wheels are about to fall off the bus.

@hoolihan  At the same time the expectation that Bernier and Reimer would maintain 950+% as they did in the first month isn't reasonable either.

@Gilbey93  Tampa announcers were blasting us last night for the trade comparing the two players and saying we "ruined" a prospect, where they "saved" a prospect who was already ruined and made the best of it. Good stuff right here.

@hoolihan  Looked like he maybe panicked a bit. His problem is he plays with Colton Orr, and for like 4 minutes a night. So when he does get into the offensive zone he can't believe it and gets too excited to make a good play.

@Dink @Jimmy Keating Very few teams have more than a couple of "sure thing" prospects. But every now and again a 4th-7th round pick can become a regular NHL'er. Think Gunnerson. So its worth keeping tabs on them. Especially defensemen and 3rd-4th line guys. They take longer to develop.

@darthNihilus @playoff nut @mcloki @Pent_House @ingy56 No one can score 80 goals in a season now. Are you saying Mogilny>Crosby/Ovechkin/Stamkos ? Its a different world, put any of those guys (or Kessel) in the early 90s and there would be 80+ goal season galore.

@Black_Hawk Which is funny because under Nonis this year we played more "Truculent" than the team ever did with Burke with McLaren, Orr and Fraser in the line up consistently.

@Cameron19 @Maneet4 @golieguy19 The thing is the core hasn't changed very much. Look at the overhaul that happened with CHI after 2009, they core stayed in-tact and now they are still elite.

@MaxwellHowe @ingy56 Its not the way to win though. New York proved that in the 90s-00s. You need to build from within, old past their prime vets won't get the job done. See Brian Leetch.

@Pent_House @golieguy19 @Jon520  Except Komi was making those mistakes at the NHL level, which is probably at least 1.5x as fast as an average AHL game. Put Ranger in that situation he'd be thrown under the bus by us worse than a guy like  Lebda.

@Pent_House @Jon520  I watched him play for the Marlies a few times, he made a lot of mistakes even at that level. I would have put Holzer and Komi waaay ahead of him, maybe even Blacker.
