@Jay31 @Yaknowwhat   Get rid of Carlyle but I'm hoping they ship out some of the "core" to penalize the players.  Killing 2 coaches in such a short period of time at the fans' expense.

@Why Bother @Yaknowwhat  As much as I am against Shanny here, I understand it.  Nonis is a square head; he's not a leader.  He could barely talk at the presser.  Shanny is here to bring some respect/ fear to the management from the players.

@Alec Brownscombe @Yaknowwhat  I have to admit I appreciated the fact Shanny didn't wax poetically about the "honour" of being part of the Leafs, yada, yada.  At least he has some integrity in that he didn't BS the fans about what "a dream" it is for him to be here.  We know it isn't; he'd never get caught dead wearing a Leafs jersey.

@Mind Bomb @Burtonboy  This article got me thinking that the so-called "mystery" of why Clarkson has had such a brutal year isn't a mystery at all.  He had Deboer as a coach in junior and with the Devils??  This guy was doomed to have a bad year with any team except the devils.  He's only known one coach who coddled him.

@Biltmore @LN-093  Don't forget trying to end one of the three guys' careers.  It's part of his intimidation tactics to keep authority in the clubhouse but it's clear a young team like the Leafs aren't going to take it.

@Yaknowwhat @Pent_House @LN-093  What would we get for Dion?  We probably couldn't give him away.  How much would we get for a package of Kessel-Bozak?  A lot methinks.

Personally, I think the players are trying to get rid of Carlyle which doesn't excuse the collapse.  I think both the coach and the players should be changed.  If people want to  change the "core", trade Kessel and Bozak as a combo.  Not having a centre who can't win a crucial face-off is not working and it's clear Kessel won't do anything without Bozak.  We could probably get an amazing package for those two.

@MaxwellHowe  If it's true Nonis is staying as GM, Shanahan's role is purely ceremonial.  Maybe Shanahan is supposed to to make up for Nonis' lack of personality and talking to the media/ fans.

@wiski @CanuckUKinToronto @Bobsyouruncle  Burkie was the GM of the whalers before joining the nhl front office.  He was also a player agent and lawyer.  I'm not sure you can compare Shanny to Burke.

@Greg Fenton @LN-093  Shanahan can't be called the right man for the job if he has no experience.  I understand why Leiweke did it but I still don't like  it.  Aaron Ward's another one; he plays his whole career in the states and I have to listen to his yap about what he thinks of the Leafs??

Shanahan never played for the Leafs or any Canadian team.  Why should he get rewarded with one if its top jobs and honours when he did absolutely nothing for this organisation ?

We have to start boycotting these good ole' Ontario boys who refuse to play for the Leafs instead of rewarding them.  How many times have we been passed on by local stars who eventually retire here opening businesses and expecting us to open our arms and wallets to them.   These same stars who grew up being trained by Ontario's coaches and using Ontario's hockey infrastructure to become the great players they are and then hightail it out of here to play in the states.  Wait and see, when Rick Nash retires, you're going to see his fat face on Ontario tv everywhere selling his crap.

@Shift_Disturber1 @4evrblue  I feel like Nonis could've done more.  He didn't bring in a centre who could win a crucial defensive zone face-off.  He took a gamble at the trade deadline by staying pat, thinking it would boost morale in the room.  How well did that work out?
