@Cameron19 Exactly. We should be raging because a horrible Montreal team is owning us in the standings.

@Cameron19 huh - I guess his name isn't censored on here anymore.
@theacs1966 @wendelsfist Have the Leafs ever traded high?
@Burtonboy This is actually concerning to me. Garbage like this gets back to potential UFAs. I know the media needs to make stories, but it's almost like they want the team to lose. This is why we can't have nice things.
@DeclanK @Armchair GM @Omac13 Don't tell 'Julie Sucks', but I'm a big McGuire fan too. He's a Monster, and his parents - Rex and Sally - are great folks.

@Burtonboy No wonder we can't attract big name free agents..

@Yaknowwhat That's a great idea if we want a top 3 pick in the draft.

@ingy56 @MLHS_Luke From Wikipedia (doesn't sound like a player they would want to lose):
To open the 2008–09 NHL season, Kessel scored the first Bruins goal of the season, playing against the Colorado Avalanche in a game that resulted in the Bruins 5–4 victory. Kessel closed out the regular season on a high note, scoring his second career hat trick in the April 12, 2009, 6–2 visitors' victory against the New York Islanders, and amassing the highest number of NHL regular season goals so far in his young career with 36, the most on the Bruins team for the season.
In the 2009 Stanley Cup playoffs, Kessel would play an integral role in the team's playoff run, leading the team with 6 goals, before losing to the Carolina Hurricanes in the conference semi-finals in 7 games. After the playoffs, it was reported that Kessel would need off-season shoulder surgery, most likely caused during a 2–0 loss to the Columbus Blue Jackets. The surgery was successfully performed during the off-season, with recuperation from the surgery causing Kessel to miss the start of the 2009–10 NHL season.---------------------Check out his playoff stats - pretty impressive for his age: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Phil_Kessel

I've noticed a number of people commenting recently about Kessel, and assuming 'well, if Boston wanted to get rid of him, obviously he can't be part of a successful team.'. From what I recall, Boston absolutely did not want to trade him, but Kessel wanted out (and in stepped Burke).
Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong, but it seems to me that this myth about Kessel being run out of Boston is gaining traction, and I don't think it's correct.

@peterbleafs @MaxwellHowe @Zep2 @Burtonboy They couldn't have had Kessel and Seguin - they keep Kessel, we get Seguin.

@MaxwellHowe @MLHS_Luke I think someone mentioned yesterday that all MON-BOS games are the second game of back-to-backs for Boston too. BS!
Another back-to-back? Who made this schedule, Montreal?
That is all.

Alec - any way to bring back the 'join date' feature that our accounts used to have? We were talking about it below and it'd be cool to have that info available. May not be possible with all the changes to the website, just curious.
@Potcy @MLHS_Luke @ingy56 @4evrblue 2008 or 2009 I think?
@Potcy @MLHS_Luke @wendelsway1 @ingy56 @4evrblue True enough. Did you come over when Alec made the switch from HB? What a happy day that was...
@ingy56 @MLHS_Luke @Potcy @4evrblue Yea it was him. I think his sister had a blog which is where we donated.
@Potcy @wendelsway1 @MLHS_Luke @ingy56 @4evrblue I think that's him - and I'm pretty sure he did change his name. Not 100% sure, but fairly sure.
I don't post much, but I might be the longest serving member here now - a few years back our 'join date' was attached to our avatars. I think only 'Carltonthebear' was here before me. For some reason my sign up date was earlier than Alec's!
@ingy56 @Potcy @4evrblue He still posts here. It's the guy with the Breaking Bad avatar..I'm drawing a blank, I should know his name..
@dlb Mad @Cameron19 http://i.imgur.com/7O3zD.jpg(Why so serious?)
@Cameron19 @dlb Mad FYI He is NOT a 'Tronna' boy. He is from Huron County. Exceptionally big difference.#HCRepresent

Solid game boys. The questions remain: which team will we see for the rest of the year - this one, or the one where there's no effort. Do we try to sell high after a long win streak or see if they can turn it around?

Especially considering I have had a debilitating knee injury. Dawell.
I feel like a giant dick being disappointed that Phaneuf is back on the ice.
My reaction on the Leaf's play through 40:
Well that'll make tanking easier.
@BoneChompski Breathe..just breathe..

@docmma @WendelGilmour @Bruffins The only thing that makes this dreadful Leaf team worse is how well Montreal is doing. Salt in the wounds.
@Yaknowwhat It's none of our damned business, unless he did something illegal.
@Cameron19 @JWaterdrager @MLHS_Luke And a touch fishy. I don't understand why the NHL can't just do the draft lottery publicly.
@Cameron19 @docmma @MLHS_Luke @Dogger This comment is actually my concern with the firing Carlyle. I could see us going on a bit of a run, and Nonis trying to stand pat (ala last year). Nonis probably thinks this team is good enough and just needs a few tweaks.
@Dogger Yea, it was discussed at length below.
@docmma @Cameron19 @MLHS_Luke @Dogger I think Wilson would be a lot better with this team than Carlyle.
@Cameron19 @MLHS_Luke @Dogger This I like.
@Cameron19 @MLHS_Luke @Dogger Again - why do we want this team to play 'a hell of a lot better'? To finish just outside of the playoffs? To get in - and to use another Burkie-ism - get our asses kicked in the first round?
I don't know if we'd be any better with him at the helm, but damn do I miss his style:
@Cameron19 @Dogger Problem is, if you take a hard, objective look at this team, it probably doesn't have a cup winning core, and it seems like it would take a Boston or Pittsburgh ("they won a goddamn lottery!") miracle to make it so. As someone mentioned above, turfing Carlyle is only a short term solution to a much bigger problem.
@docmma @MaxwellHowe @mtommy I think Steven Tyler has some words for you:
@wiski I'm not sure how much we should be talking about this on a hockey forum but it is very interesting. If his side of the story is true, he will become a very rich man.
@Cameron19 @MLHS_Luke Sigh. I actually thought the helmet cams might help shame some refs into better officiating, but I haven't seen the cameras being used in the last couple games. Don't know if they've scrapped the idea or if I just didn't notice them.
@Cameron19 It's a shame they can't make refs more accountable. I guess the coaches challenge would be a start, but I think some teams are destined to have biased officiating.
