Hoping MNGT learns to buy low and sell high. At the very least move players we aren't gonna resign for young assets/picks. We've been awul at keeping and or acquiring draft picks well still missing the playoffs and spending to the cap. It's all gotta stop

Also, there is no need to give Reimer away. I agree with AP that we hold the cards, he's an RFA, relatively unproven track record and there are a lot of really good goalies available as ufa's. If he wants to be the number one on a winning team, just keep practicing, training, playing and banging your hot mormon wife. You'll get there

Hoping for another big W from the Marlies, have stopped caring about the Nhl plaoffs.

Would like to see Biggs and Broll get some games in too but the team is rolling. Has Finn been summoned?

At the very least Shanny and Nonis have to give Carlyle orders to play some of the younger kids in meaningful situations and minutes. As the writer mentioned, we have a great ahl team, that is young and has been winning consistently. They need to get opportunities and make way for the junior crop that will be looking to play pro next year.

Our Management and Coaches need to get on the same page with what this team is trying to achieve and how we are trying to achieve it

By no means the answer for our defensive woes, but potentially worthy of another shot next year

Every year we talk about trading up, every year we don't and when we have it resulted in Biggs (who is still young but certainly not showing the upside of many drafted after him).

i expect us all too speculate like hell about us getting into the top 3, we don't, than we draft a kid like Ritchie and all talk about how he's like Lucic. I don't know why im writing this but ive come to far. im going to drink now

Captain obvious here: WE NEED A LEGIT 1C

Why? Well beyond the obvious reasons, a legit 1c acts as a role model/bar that other developing younger centre's will look to, learn from and try and beat. San Jose is a centre factory cause they got two great experieinced centre's and than drafted young talented guys who got to go to practice and learn from these guys every day. They are exceptional but still my point is, we need a legit 1c that our centre prospects can be like oh fuck that guys good.

Now how the fuck do we get a 1c? That's a bigger problem. I would go to SJ or Colorado and finally be prepared to pay up to get one of these guys

@philthethrill @mlclearwater  nope it isn't, we need to get better that's for sure. I'm not the debating type on this site, everyone is in bash the leafs and carlyle mode, that's fine. I'm not. These are my opinions, comment if you like or just move on to other ones.

Carlyle had arguably the least defensively capable d core in the league and the weakest centre's also. Hard to get a working defensive system imo. ALthough he certainly deserves lots of blame

I'm a sucker for picks, i'd trades some things to get it but agree Ekblad would be hard to turn down regardless of our stable of D. We all have a boner for Bennet cause everyone compares him to Dougie. Having said that Bennet would do just fine imo

We've been shopping everyone for years, i'll believe it when I see it. Yes there are some flaws and improvements that NEED to be made. Building a winner isn't easy and isnt quick. I know i'm drinking the kool aide a little here but the fact is we have some great pieces to the puzzle and we are sure as fuck better off than we were the last couple of years. all imo

Well this management team is sticking with the young and youngish talent we have assembled and pressuring them to look within to win and not rely on blowing up the team, firing the coach or trading the captain. Frankly, I kinda like it. We are young, have good young players outside the NHL and have winners in front office jobs right down to the coach.

As frustrating as this team has been, I like the reduced knee jerk reactions and putting the onus on the players to continually improve individually and as a team. Fuck I hate that i'm a leaf fan and trained to eventually find the silver lining

Don't know if its been mentioned - The QMHL champs Val D'or's, (led by Mantha and his ridiculous scoring pace) starting goalie is non other than leafs 6th rounder from 2013 Antoine Bibeau who got traded there at the end of the season.

Pretty cool that we have a top scoring forward in Brown, a captain award winning and OHL champinship Dman in Finn and a QMHL champion goalie in Bibeau. Not to mention Mr. Rupert on the Knights, Leafs will be well represented in the Memorial Cup.

1. Carlyle needs to use the Marlies as a feeder system more and realize that for us, the NHL is still about developing players

2. Subsequently he needs to roll 4 lines

3. Stop pissing all our players off and at the same time start getting all our players to stop pissing us off

The leafs are still miles ahead of where we were a couple years back.

IMO the real challenge now is turning good assets we have into good assets we want. Before (pre-Burke) we just didn't even really have trade able assets.

If Phaneuf isnt an asset we want to build around and allocate a large portion of our salary cap to then we need to try and move him for an asset MNGT wants to be a part of the core, even if there is risk involved and we lose a good dman like PHan with no one to replace im right away.

It's why we should've traded pieces like Kule and Raymond at the deadline for assets the team wants moving forward.

Kessel=Leader and highest paid player this team will have for awhile

Kessel=Player who appears to try and train the least. If nothing else he needs to pick it up to be a leader and an example to the players on this team who are busting there nuts to make 800k. Best players need to be hardest workers on championship teams.

Kessel is great, he needs to pick it up along with many other facets of this team

I like Kessel and know he is an elite player, but you making 8 mil per now bud, try working out in the off season or practicing fucking super hard, not cause you need to but because all the players on this team are looking at you as a leader and you seem like a lazy yet supernaturally talented fuck. Building a winning organization takes patience, continuity, brains and luck. This says we have 2. The brains and luck are tbd. I'm more pissed how Nonis is handling our assets, RC needs to start to develop our young players (esp forwards)

This isn't the worst thing everyone, calm down, is RC a bit of a kunt, yes. Does he deserve some blame for this team shitting all over us, absolutely. But any coach we get, we will find a reason to hate soon enough. Let's give the guy one full, regular, regular season. if they miss the playoffs next year he's gone obviously, but I like how the knee jerk reactions have stopped in a way.

This team is young, needs help on D, down the middle and in the bottom 6. Firing RC and bringing in a new coach our roster still has the same flaws.

I hear ya'll with the hate and some of your posts are making me laugh pretty hard which hurts cause I just had my nuts snipped. Carlyle deserves some blame and has pissed me off, sure. BUT

This team wants to stop knee jerk reactions, RC hasn't coached 1 full regular season (olympics this year, lock out last), hasn't had the team to support his style, and there are no other stud coaches available (trotz but his style is similar to Carlyle).

Lets all take a breathe, we're used to dumb shit by now and who knows, maybe we're all choking on our chirps when we make the playoffs next year...
