Literally the last thing we need is another winger, fuck Perron.

I'd take Nurse of their hands though, really like that kids game. Not that we need more young dmen....

We have some good bottom 6 kinda prospects coming up in house. Ryan Rupert is starting to find some consistency, good sign. 8 points in 13 games, gritty, 20yrs old. I like him and Carrick in checking roles. Connor Brown turning into a legit NHL guy imo.

If our top line can't start playing defence and actually working to possess the puck in the offensive zone this team is fucked. I can't imagine watching a guy make 8 million a year play on my team when he can't he even take the right defensive position on an opposing forward in our d-zone before the puck gets out. Or just does flyby's on the fore check. I really appreciate Kessel's offensive abilities, but him and the other players slacking defensively need to wake the fuck up if this team is going to take the next step. Sorry for the rant. To all the people who are going to say Kessel's not this teams problem, save it, he is our best player and needs to be held accountable for his (and his line mates) lackluster effort in their own end. He needs to lead, whn players see him hustling back on D, it inspires them. And frankly it's when he's at his best. Jesus I need to stop

I know the Marlies lost some key players and coaches  and that the big clubs success is more important than the farm teams, however I am disappointed with how shitty they are doing given A) their success in recent years and B) The fact that we have made the playoffs 1 time in 10 years and are for the most part thin on prospects excelling outside the NHL.  (nylander, Brown aside).

5-3 leafs tonight regardless

There are a number of players I hope Mngt is looking at moving A) Because we need/want cap space for next year B) Because we are relatively deep at the wings and on D. C) Some players Mngt doesn't want to resign and we need to get assets for them. D) Because we won't be able to take the next step if we have them and their contracts anchoring us down.

That said, the team has done great so far this year, I've enjoyed watching them and I think we beat Philly 5-3 tonight

unrelated but throwing it out there:

Lupul + Gardiner ($9.3ml) for E. Kane (5,25). Gives us cap room and Winnipeg is still waaaayyyyy under the cap.

Lupul + Gardiner for J. Eberle

Thoughts?

I would be tempted to do either of those trades and I actually think they are relatively fair for both teams

I prefer e keep Ashton over Kozun. Nothing against the little guy, i'm a fan, but Ashton is a big boy, who can skate and score and is also a couple years younger i believe. Hasn't really been given a huge opportunitiy with the Leafs, despite the games he ahs played as most he only saw a few minutes with guys who shouldn't even be in the ECHL. For some reason I still see him as a legitimate 3rd line guy in the future.

Great win last night. We have played and beaten some of the best teams in the league over this stretch. Have we been outplayed at times? Yes, but we have also played much more solid than last year.

Sounds funny but the big test imo is how we play against Carolina on Thurs, a team we should beat and outplay. If we get outshot and outpossessed by a large margin, I will be concerned even if we win. We need to find a away to beat the best times and we need to dominate the teams below us, plain as that. GLG

I thought our top line was awful defensively tonight, and wasn't capitalizing on their chances. But they tied up on the PP which was huge.

I thought Lupul was invisible for the most part, but big game winner.

Reimer let in a babyshit soft 2nd goal, but stand tall the rest of the way and in the SO.

Beautiful win

Blows my mind how much $ Fyers pay their shitty d. Also surprising how much $ Col spends. O'Reilly anyone? Although our centre's play this year is  starting to make the "we need a big #1 C" conversation obsolete.

Antoine Bibeau looks like a great, late goalie draft for us. Kid has been unbelievably solid over the past two years on teams who don't really play good d

I'd be fine with trading Gardiner and resigning Franson for 5.5 x 6/7. Gardiner shows flashes of brilliance though

IMO

I'd be tempted to trade Clarkson or Lupul whenever we get a chance. Both players I like but their cap hits, out cap situation and our apparent depth of wingers leave me hoping we can move one of them without taking much salary back.

Good game for the leafs last night. We are getting way better contributions from all lines this year, and when we win, we generally deserve it unlike last year.

We also have Brown, Carrick, Bibeau and Rupert playing pretty well down for the Marlies. I'm hoping Carrick can take Smith's spot at some point here.

Like last year I really wonder what Nonis' plan is with UFA's: Franson, Santorelli, Booth etc. I would be working pretty hard to resign Santo @ 2-2.5 x 3 and Franson @ 4.5-5 x 5. If not than look into trading them while their value is high. Gotta stop losing guys for nothing imo

Our top lines carries us more often than not, but last night they were invisible. Really unfortunate especially given all the Power Play time. Bernier hasn't looked himself. I fucking love leo. Good for Holzer. If Crosby didint help win us multiple gold medals I would fucking hate on him none stop, he is a whiny bitch. Phanuefs shots missing the net by 10 feet have to stop. Sky isn't falling yet everyone. It's frustrating cause we've seen this before. BUT we have to assume that it's a new year, different team and that the process may lead to a better result. One game above 500., some good youth and some nice pieces on the team.

Ok, that was an awful game last night. I do not condone ppl personally attacking Reimer and his wife on twitter but that was one of the worst games I've seen James play. Plain and simple he was awful, but leave the personal attacks out of it. The rest of the team wasn't much better.

One minute we're a great young team whose heading to the playoffs, next we are a bunch of bums who need trading. Tough to say what to do, but it seems like consistency continues to be an issue as Alec said.
