I prefer e keep Ashton over Kozun. Nothing against the little guy, i'm a fan, but Ashton is a big boy, who can skate and score and is also a couple years younger i believe. Hasn't really been given a huge opportunitiy with the Leafs, despite the games he ahs played as most he only saw a few minutes with guys who shouldn't even be in the ECHL. For some reason I still see him as a legitimate 3rd line guy in the future.

Great win last night. We have played and beaten some of the best teams in the league over this stretch. Have we been outplayed at times? Yes, but we have also played much more solid than last year.

Sounds funny but the big test imo is how we play against Carolina on Thurs, a team we should beat and outplay. If we get outshot and outpossessed by a large margin, I will be concerned even if we win. We need to find a away to beat the best times and we need to dominate the teams below us, plain as that. GLG

I hope the leafs start talking more like the raptors - "we haven't won anything yet, haven't achieved anything just because we're off to a good start". It's a long season and we're streakier than my 3 yr old sons underwear

I thought our top line was awful defensively tonight, and wasn't capitalizing on their chances. But they tied up on the PP which was huge.

I thought Lupul was invisible for the most part, but big game winner.

Reimer let in a babyshit soft 2nd goal, but stand tall the rest of the way and in the SO.

Beautiful win

Anyone else think Lupul needs to go? He's been invisible offensively, I still like him but all things considered, I think he is tradeable and would fetch us a pick and prospect maybe.

Capgeek = great site

Blows my mind how much $ Fyers pay their shitty d. Also surprising how much $ Col spends. O'Reilly anyone? Although our centre's play this year is  starting to make the "we need a big #1 C" conversation obsolete.

But Freddi is a couple years away. I'm talking tonight. I was hoping Carrick would take the spot, but he needs more time. We need a vet who can grind it out, skate, win draws and kill penalties today

Can't wait for McLaren and Orr's contracts to be off this teams list next year.

Antoine Bibeau looks like a great, late goalie draft for us. Kid has been unbelievably solid over the past two years on teams who don't really play good d

I think he gets more also, he has been playing great. If Nonis and Co. don't want him, we gotta trade him for some goods though. Don't let him walk for nothing.

I'd be fine with trading Gardiner and resigning Franson for 5.5 x 6/7. Gardiner shows flashes of brilliance though

IMO

I'd be tempted to trade Clarkson or Lupul whenever we get a chance. Both players I like but their cap hits, out cap situation and our apparent depth of wingers leave me hoping we can move one of them without taking much salary back.

Good game for the leafs last night. We are getting way better contributions from all lines this year, and when we win, we generally deserve it unlike last year.

We also have Brown, Carrick, Bibeau and Rupert playing pretty well down for the Marlies. I'm hoping Carrick can take Smith's spot at some point here.

Tough game today, GLG

Like last year I really wonder what Nonis' plan is with UFA's: Franson, Santorelli, Booth etc. I would be working pretty hard to resign Santo @ 2-2.5 x 3 and Franson @ 4.5-5 x 5. If not than look into trading them while their value is high. Gotta stop losing guys for nothing imo

Our top lines carries us more often than not, but last night they were invisible. Really unfortunate especially given all the Power Play time. Bernier hasn't looked himself. I fucking love leo. Good for Holzer. If Crosby didint help win us multiple gold medals I would fucking hate on him none stop, he is a whiny bitch. Phanuefs shots missing the net by 10 feet have to stop. All in all I was pretty proud of most of the teams effort last night. GLG

Sky isn't falling yet everyone. It's frustrating cause we've seen this before. BUT we have to assume that it's a new year, different team and that the process may lead to a better result. One game above 500., some good youth and some nice pieces on the team.

Ok, that was an awful game last night. I do not condone ppl personally attacking Reimer and his wife on twitter but that was one of the worst games I've seen James play. Plain and simple he was awful, but leave the personal attacks out of it. The rest of the team wasn't much better.

One minute we're a great young team whose heading to the playoffs, next we are a bunch of bums who need trading. Tough to say what to do, but it seems like consistency continues to be an issue as Alec said.

@TheLoovTrain  I like watching when we win/compete/get points. But it is tough to watch the bonehead plays we make every game. Tough to think this teams takes the next step without seriously tightening up in our own end. JVR was killing me last night for example and I'm a fan of him. Just so stupid on many plays.

We fore check ourselves for our opposition almost every game and that has to stop.

If Kadri plays with Kessel, Kadri gets more points. If Kadri gets more points, Kadri demands more money and or term this summer for essentially getting to play with one of the best offensive players in the league.

I like Kadri and Kessel together but it is highly likely that Kadri's ego and demands will increase exponentially. guess we'll see

Hypothetical question:

Leafs are in a playoff position at the trade deadline. However we have some opportunities to shed some contracts that will be\are hard to move. We get an offer for Phaneuf, with little coming back and an offer for Lupul with a first or 2nd rounder coming back.

Do you trade these guys, let younger bodies have a shot and shed the salary OR hold onto to both of them thinking we don't want to jeopardize our playoff chances?
