@CanuckUKinToronto @Mitch_S2@MaxwellHoweFranson had an awful year, but lets agree that there is quite a bit of talent there.

I don't want to sell low.

@MaxwellHowe @Mitch_S2Either way Percy, Granberg MacWilliam or Brennan.

Franson at 15 a night with a calmer player like RAnger may not be too bad.

@CanuckUKinToronto @Mitch_S2He's playing 15 minutes a night there.
And Staal had a solid full year. Guys do eventually get away from their injuries.

@traNsplantEdneWfie Especially trading Kadri, which is exactly who the sens want.

I wouldn't trade Kadri for anyone over 27

With all this Staal talk I think we are missing out on the one who could help us out the most.

Marc Staal is a UFA in 2015, he would compliment our two young guns well.

Phaneuf- Rielly

Staal- Gardiner

Franson - Ranger

MacWilliam

Trade the rest

@ingy56 @Mitch_S2Eilliot would be a solid signing. I've always like Alex Stalock too. I think he could handle a full time role if required.

We were so dependent on Bernier, if he goes down again we are screwed without a guy like Reimer.

I really wish we didn't have to trade Reimer. I just think now they owe it to him.

But having a young tandem like that makes the most sense, if we move Reimer I think it would difficult to get a goalie of a similar ability.

@Cameron19 @Jordan29 It's actually kind of embarrassing to see how many GM's get starry eyed over picks.

Gillis getting the 9th overall pick for Schneider is awful.

Considering what Schneider went for I can still see Reimer getting a late first.

I gotta think Stastny stays and they move ROR.

Also can't help but think theres a fit with the yotes.

Primarily around Kadri and Yandle. They would love a top end offensive talent, and have been rumored to be shopping Yandle since the emergence of OEL.

I just can't see how the money works.

@ Don Cherry This draft is big on big talented wingers.

More the pick to a team who wants wingers and has an abundance of top end talent at center ice.  IE Colorado.

Thank being said why? Your jusy playing the odds. Lets move the pick for a young player.

Last year a young all star and potentially elite goaltender was traded for the 9th overall pick.

If we can move the 8th for anything similar I would much rather do that.

@dlb meh @ConnorCrisp Injuries aren't an excuse, everyone has to deal with them.

We didn't deal with them effectively and Carlyle had a big role in that.

That being said Bolland for a full year is huge, as well not losing Komarov would have been big. This problem should be corrected over the next few years as we being to graduate some big wingers.  Broll is ideal, as well as D'amigo.

And even with all the Clarkson hate he can still be a very effective player.

How about this for a team full of centers

To Col: Cody Franson, 2014 1st (8th) Select one of the many big talented wingers Richtie, Perlini

To Tor: O'Reilly

Gives the leafs a dog on the puck, one of the league leaders in takeaways, a selke candidate at what 21?

Also avoids the whole Clarkson-scenario with a guy like Stastny.

Weird situation... I think the best thing for the leafs is to fire Carlyle.

But doesn't it bother you that as the general manager you pick a supervisor for your employee's and they just decide that they aren't going to respect his decisions?

Where in any other proffessional setting do the employee's pick their direct supervisor?

There needs to be some accountability there. I say fuck you to the players, I'm the boss I pick the coach not you.

Been pretty happy with Ranger too, only guy on the team who looks pissed off.

Gleason should be gone he doesnt add much.

Led the league in takeways this year too. I want a guy who is hard on the puck and drives the play thats the best way to play a matchup.

@Cameron19 @CanuckUKinToronto@Mitch_S2@XxxxxnewBozak isn't moved for at least 3 years if it ever comes to that. I'd rather a more physical player than Stastny. Physical in the sense that they are more difficult to contain. O'rielly fits the bill.  Make capspace and offer him 7 for 7.

Move Kadri and Franson for a dman.

Im not saying they have announced the need for immediate results, i just like his assertive approach. And either way everyone knows the leafs need immediate results.

I think the issue with the previous regime was when senior management asked Burke to do something he likely told them to fuck off.  I think Leiweke just brings more urgency.

He wont tell Nonis to get a center he'll say your job depends on it.

The only encouraging thing I can see going into the off season is the impatience Leiweke has.

He wanted improvement in net and they got a star.

As moronic as Holmgren is I often thought that Burke could have used a little more urgency like that.

I think Leiweke brings that. Hopefully he see's a similar RFA situation in O'rielly that he did with Bernier.

Could Ranger become a similar story to Jay Bouwmeester?

Touted for offense and not putting it together. Finaly using his size, strength and speed to become a quality shutdown guy.

The player is definitely there we saw it last night, only dman who looks mean on the team.
