The Islanders already had Hamonic, and they recently got Kennedy. I think they are trying to corner the market on players with rat faces.

The Fishsticks are a decent team, but their point total is inflated by shootout wins, and they can't keep the puck out of their own net. They'll wimp out in the playoffs.

@Betweenthecups I believe you are right and Nash isn't all the way back from PCS. (Sorry to hear that that is something you personally had to deal with.) And it must be even more frustrating for him than it is for us who are watching him play. I just hope that what we're seeing is transitional and not permanent. Assuming the Rangers buy out Richards, they are pretty much stuck with Nash. No one is going to want him in his current condition. Better stated, no one is going to want him enough to take all of his salary AND give us back any useful players. Though, if he doesn't improve, the Rangers might have to trade him just to defuse a toxic situation with the fans and media. In that scenario, the best trade might be for another guy who needs a change of scenery.
P.S. Lucic is a goon. I said it at the time he targeted Nash's head as he drove him into the boards, but how can that NOT be an illegal (and suspension-worthy) hit now that we know what we do about concussions?

@brian2686 @aTeamof20Zuccs Lighten up. There is no "All American" to make in the NHL. It was not a serious comment.
While Zucc is creating a lot more than Nash right now, I don't think it's a heart issue. Nash wants to succeed; however, his game is just a wreck. And it has been for such a (painfully) long time. So I posted a somewhat facetious jab at him on a blog. On an article that chronicled his ineptitude.
Trust me: I don't like Zucc just cause he looks like he's trying hard; I mainly like him because he produces. And I'd LOVE Nash if he produced for the Rangers; it wouldn't matter if he had the enthusiasm of a cadaver.
Love this bulletin board material. It stinks that I'm not going to be able to watch the game tonight, but I'll be wearing my lucky Lunqvist jersey (broke it out for the first time for game 4). LGR!!!
If Nash had a tenth of the heart of Zuccarello, he'd have made All American by now!
@KevinTheNYRBlog @aTeamof20Zuccs We'll eat 'em alive!!!!
Taking my new avatar and name out for a spin (had been using "StandnHere") . . . LGR! It starts with a win tonight!
@IhaveawaiteratMSG @Say my Name But who would want Nash right now? And what could we get for him without eating a ton of salary?
@upstate tom Start with one win, then get greedy for more.
@EquusBiz I get the sentiment, but that guy would regularly miss open nets and, in general, flub his chances. And I've had my fill of that sort of thing.
@Chris M And the smugness of Kings fans who discovered hockey two years ago . . . they've been talking as if the Rangers are nothing more than a bump in the road. The fact that an 0-3 series validates that view drives me nuts.
@JustinRP37 @StandnHere Just saying the result is bad, either way.

@Josh-CK It is true. He is damaged goods until he can prove otherwise.
@DanielDHizzyHizgilov My concern is that this is a win-now team. I'd describe the prospect pool as "middling."
I don't enjoy watching Quick, regardless of whether he's playing for Team U.S.A. or against the Rangers.
@DP_Snotty @DanielDHizzyHizgilov Never know what the team will look like next year.
@Hotfreak @Josh-CK @StandnHere But yes, they are very proficient.
@Josh-CK @StandnHere If you'd rather complain about the refs than puck luck, that's your preference.
I can't tell if I'm more annoyed that ex-Flyers have burned us or more happy that they're not doing it for the Flyers.
What's most impressive about the Kings is their puck luck.
@readjunk Hang on, man. You've still got reasons to liiiiiive . . .
I still hate Doc.
They're still playing hard.
@Bleed_the_freak Just make it up as you go along
Anyone else notice the problem with Drew Doughty's mouth? I've got nothing here, so I'm resorting to personal insults.
I don't know if the Kings have *earned it* earned it, Doc.
Weakness of this team is scoring touch (specifically: lack of it).
Why pass to the guy with a defender draped all over him?
@Bleed_the_freak Told you
Greene is a stupid ginger. (No offense to the gingers out there.)
Kreider does not have good hands.
@Bukra! His pump-up speech is like that Netflix commercial.
@Jercooks845 Nope . . . not just "happy to be here."
@Bleed_the_freak I saw that. It was sadly justified.
@matt1977 I would congratulate them, but they're in the middle of a circle jerk with Chicago fans. Not my scene.
@leftwingbarbara I cannot believe he didn't score on that wrap around. I was cursing at my television.
I feel a win tonight.

My anxiety level totally shoots up when, in their own zone, they try to stickhandle by forecheckers or make cute little passes. BUT, to play devil's advocate, this is one of the keys to their puck possession game and how they generate offense via their defensive plays. If they typically just made the safe play (i.e., made a hard clearing attempt, without worrying about getting the puck to a teammate), they would only be playing defense for much of the game. Sure, they sometimes get burned by opting for the skill play, but usually they don't.
Personally, I see fatigue and a good opponent as responsible for most of our goals against. (It's too bad that Kings fans are incapable of giving us any credit whatsoever.) But, given that both games went to overtime, I think it's clear that, at this moment, the teams are pretty evenly matched. Here's to hoping the hockey gods smile on us the rest of the way and the Rangers bury more of their chances.
@Bukra! @Bueller Love that Kovalev was there, supporting the good guys.
BTW, I had that t-shirt, back in the day. Rocked it every other day in junior high, right before the summer vacation.

@JoeyKocur I don't mind making fun of the Canadiens or Montreal, but calling Therrien gay, making his annoying-ness about his ethnicity, or bringing up WW2 (they're French Canadian, not French) isn't really called for. Though maybe your post is facetious and I'm just not hearing it.

@Betweentheworlds He's got that thing that enlarges your facial features. It's kind of difficult to look at.
@Hoserhey @StandnHere The answer is Finland because both places have an unusual penchant for hand puppets.
An old SAT-style analogy: "Quebec is to Canada as ___ is to Scandinavia." What do you think?
Therrein is a clown. Pens won the cup as soon as they dumped him.
@Bleed_the_freak The SHG wasn't his fault, but he wasn't in great position on any of the others.

Where was this urgency earlier?
They might not be "great," but they are playing so much worse than they usually are.
