Rielly a horse on the blue line tonight, now starting to become Leafs #1 D

Watching this team is way easier on the brain with balanced lines...is it possible that there's someone, somewhere in this organization with half a clue

@vinoa @Leafbites @Knights2Leafs @Habskilla Man, you jump in with a Clarkson dig every chance you get and you know it.  It's pithy. Anyway, I don't care, I'm sure Kessel will get you your 30 goals, while this rotten team fails, again.

@vinoa @Leafbites @Knights2Leafs @Habskilla But this is all you do, is come on here every day and slag Clarkson with this 'he fell lots last year' crap. I don't care about the money, I see a guy that actually puts in an effort every night. Defend Kessel until you're blue in the face, but at the end the day he's the poster boy for everything that's wrong with this team. LAZY.

@vinoa @Leafbites @Knights2Leafs @Habskilla And no doubt it's Clarkson's fault that the sniper is streaky. Your boy is likely responsible for more goals against than for.

@vinoa @Knights2Leafs @Habskilla Hilarious how you blame Clarkson for this team's failures. While your boy Kessel puts in an effort in about 1 in every 5 games.

Hey, blame Burke for this bullshit. Brought in all these guys, skilled without an ounce of gumption–cast offs.....Kessel, Gardiner, Lupul, Bozak, JVR, etc, etc

@B_Leaf @Leafbites @Mcost61 @theacs1966 Yes, this is enough evidence to be considered a trend. I think this hole has been dug to deep to crawl out of, irregardless of what point we're at in this new season.

Bernier is good for at least one stinker, we know this. If he's decent, otherwise, this will be a closer affair tonight. I predict a regulation tie, 3-3.

@Xxxxxnew Sorry, don't need graphics to know the leafs haven't been a playoff team for the last decade. Still have no idea what this has to do with Carlyle? Are you supposed to be suggesting it's at the mgmt level and not anything to do with Carlyle?

@Xxxxxnew If this is in defence of Carlyle's on ice product, it's weak sauce.

Whether you are in the Fire Carlyle camp or not, it's become quite apparent that he has no answers for this team. Well, he did also admit to this last year and really nothing has changed.

@Alec Brownscombe @gjdevlin For a player like Phaneuf to lose even half a step, it'll obviously be detrimental to his game, he wasn't fleet of foot to begin with.

@Bring the Cup Home @Leafbites @gjdevlin We need help with possession, on both the forward group and blueline, though.

@Bring the Cup Home @Leafbites @gjdevlin Then why not trade someone not effective in this area. Why rob Peter to pay Paul. Why spin our tires?

1 week, 6 days ago on Saturday Mashup: Round Two, Hopefully Better than Round One

Reply

@Bring the Cup Home @gjdevlin Bottom line, this team is a woeful possession team–it's the area that needs addressing more than any other. Gardinar, for all his warts, drives possession more than any other member of this team. Why on earth would you want to continue to get weaker in this area?

1 week, 6 days ago on Saturday Mashup: Round Two, Hopefully Better than Round One

Reply

@Bring the Cup Home @Leafbites I would trim off the Fransons, the Phaneufs and the Bozaks, and look to stockpile more younger possession type players, not deal them away.

@Bring the Cup Home Why anyone would want to keep the veteran members of this core together is beyond me. They will Never be a contender with this group. Trading away young players is the Wrong move for this franchise.

For league-wide vets, Bozak has to be the worst defensive centre in the NHL, by a mile. I've never seen a hockey player show less desire, less compete...it's appalling

It seems that RC's easing into the idea of overhauling his baby, his fate is basically going to come down to player deployment, unless the tweaked system hasn't a heartbeat.

I like RC the human, loved RC the player, but I'm still not convinced with RC the bench boss–hope he adapts and proves me wrong

@barjv01 @Mattmark I also like the idea of him and Lupul making up 2/3 of a scoring line, maybe with Clarkson, matched against 3rd pairing D's. There's opportunity for balance with this group, depending on injuries.
