@djamon @Leafbites I agree that this is an over-reaction, but I've never considered Phil too much amongst the leadership ranks on the team anyway, despite his gargantuan on-ice role. I believe I interpreted the 'character' quotes to be of off-ice concern. If he meant on-ice (or even hockey) then yea, Phil may of had a bull's eye on his back.

@djamon @Yaknowwhat Okay, suppose it is Phil, who is Wik comparing him to, say a Dustin Brown–who has character in spades, but wouldn't score on a barn.

If this is the case, then his point must be that you  need a mix. Well sure, of course you need a mix. Goal scorers of Phil's ilk aren't as plentiful, though, as the dusty Browns.

Let's be honest, most every dressing room has a couple 'bad characters', but Philly cheese? He my not scream leadership, but how on earth do you create a narrative that paints our bashful, pudgy hockey phenom as a bad apple. Hilarious again, TO media.

Now, let's bring on the season and see what this band of misfits are all about!

Oh and for Phook's sakes, free the Phook! He's a Phooking beaut!

Leafs went and got enough right D so they could create a market for Cody, by making it seem like they are only offloading him because they now suddenly have a surplus of righties....he may be drawing some interest, but not from anyone wanting to part with any significant asset for his services, and obviously waiting out this arb hearing. He's gonzo before the season starts for a bag of pucks and a half dozen face stitches.

Burke's Flames will have a shot at one of Bennet, Leon or Reinhart–to go along with Monahan, they're gonna be a force down the middle in the West in the coming years and eventually we'll have to witness the Flames' rebuild springboard over TML's 'plan'. And I'll have to go back to savagely hating the Flames, once again.
