@Anthony Petrielli Until he gets into any trouble. I throw the Pitch Count out the window...although if he doesn't get in trouble the pitch count stays low. Ride him all the way.

@docmma When Booth comes back you can slot him as 2W and slide Winnick down on the 4th line.

@MaxwellHowe I think last year proved the goals will follow the Corsi to a certain extent. I agree with BB, other than faceoffs I think Kadri has been fine this year.

That's how the 4th line can get more ice time...get hemmed in our zone for 2 minutes at a time.

@Burtonboy The Leafs wouldn't have paid the price Dallas did. That's really the only reason we didn't trade for him. They had no problem trading their #5 overall pick to us for draft picks.

@deedrag Good Lord...if our best players need a boost from the likes of Kozun then we're in real trouble. It comes from within or it simply isn't there.

@Scotty_8 Dion's minutes were not  that sheltered. He averaged almost 22 minutes. Guys who are sheltered don't get that much.

@Cameron19 I love Rielly for sure, but he has a long way to go before I'm ready to anoint him as a top pairing d-man. Dion has been doing it for so long he's reached the "pick him apart" phase.

@Cameron19 Drafted 9th overall, 3rd in Calder, All Star, 8th in Norris his first year. But not a prospect.

@Scotty_8 Dion was never the prospect Rielly was? That's hilarious. Dion was a game changer. Rielly is still figuring out how to shoot.

@GreekGod IT WAS A 2 ON 1! You know how defenders play 2 on 1's...right?

3 days, 15 hours ago on Monday Mashup: Picking up where they left off

@Cameron19 Yup. I've been happy with Dion this year. I loved when he took a run at Iginla. He went to sleep on the 3rd goal on Saturday, but him receiving any blame on the second was ridiculous. Our forwards are terrible defensively (the ones getting the minutes anyway)...they're bound to make all our d-men look bad on occasion.

@Cameron19 I would be amazed if Phil is any kind of team leader, TBH. His personality just doesn't scream leader to me.

@Leafs_17 I disagree. I think Dion has definitely looked slower, but he's played pretty well for the most part. He has some snarl back in his game...which I love.

@Yaknowwhat I believe if they tried to trade him it was for the same reason they asked about Babcock...because they wanted to change the leadership of this team.

@Fish Head His offensive game has definitely improved, but he's just terrible in his own zone. He gets destroyed by pretty much every other 1C. Kadri matches up better, IMO. At least he provides some physicality on occasion.

@vinoa @Leafs_17 I'm starting to think Plekanic is vastly under-rated.

3 days, 16 hours ago on Monday Mashup: Picking up where they left off

@GreekGod I think our leadership core is rotten too, but the time to address that was in the off-season. Not after 8 games. The team is playing almost exactly how I thought they'd play, frankly I'm amazed anyone is this angry. What did you expect?

But hearing how upset many in here over the fact that Nonis only got a 4th for Joe fucking Colborne I think it's ironic that so many are in favour of dismantling this team. Will people be happy when he gets 60c on the dollar for Dion and Phil?

@ingy56 We had a 5 minute hiccup at the beginning of the period (Gardiner mostly), then dominated them the rest of the way.

3 days, 18 hours ago on Monday Mashup: Picking up where they left off

@ingy56 Fair enough. But last year was a different team and it's done. I really think we need to wait a lot longer before making any judgments on THIS team. Like BB says...if we're seeing the same thing in January then hard decisions will have to be made.

3 days, 18 hours ago on Monday Mashup: Picking up where they left off

@ingy56 Do people think it's realistic to outplay every opponent in every period? You know the other team is trying to win too, right? We've been up and down all year...in every game (except the Pittsburgh and first Detroit games) we've had moments of complete dominance.

I really think we need people to manage their expectations a little better.

@wendelsfist That's not fair though...the players brought in this summer have been our best. It's the holdovers hurting this team right now. I'd give this Management group (save Nonis) more than 3 months to make a difference.
