@Dogger The guy hit on a low round pick pretty much every year. The 06 draft was sick.

@Dogger Ironically, we were a much better drafting team with JFJ doing it.
@DeclanK Lol...of course he is.

@DeclanK So we're ok with a Pens fan trolling us now? Cool.
@Dogger Forgot Kadri.@ 7.
@I'mDefinitelyBirdman79 NYR have never tanked and they're a legitimate Cup contender.
@In it to Winnik Thy're realistically locked into the 4-6 spots. I think it's almost impossible for them to finish outside that.
@TheLoovTrain The drama is a little thick in here lately.
@HHT So are their fans.
@FloorHockeyFlopper Tonight didn't really change anything. It's one game, we're going to win some games down the stretch.
On a fun note...welcome back to the NHL Jacob Markstrom. Three goals on 4 shots, yanked after less than 8 minutes.
@Alec Brownscombe In that situation I'm assuming someone is hand-picking tweets out of a stream. It's not like they were showing every tweet they were receiving.
This is fucking crazy, I've never seen this before.

What did Montoya hurt?
@mtommy Huge part, but Luongo is the single biggest reason they're better, IMO.
@Jay31 That's pretty good, I didn't think there was that much scoring in the NCAA.

@kxbarillas It may make the prospect better, and it's not like Cap space is an issue over the next few years.
@Jay31 Where's he playing? In USHL?
@Jay31 How good a prospect is Larkin?
@kxbarillas Nope, but they aren't the only ones who have expressed interest. And if they get knocked out in the first round they may change their tune.
@Yaknowwhat They would retain salary IF it was Mantha. He's a stud prospect, there's other prospects available.
@kxbarillas I think the rest are pretty reasonable, but I also think this market under-values Dion.
@Yaknowwhat Actually what was reported was the the Leafs said no to Detroit's offer of a prospect and a pick with salary retained.
@kxbarillas The market for Dion will be bigger in the summer. And that makes for a better return.
@Yaknowwhat We could have got that at the deadline, we'll get more in the summer with more than 1 team involved.
@kxbarillas Dion will get much more than that, without salary retained.
@Jay31 Yeah, that's a tough one for sure. Arizona maybe even worse. But this guy has matched Crosby at every stage of his career. Crosby got 102 pts his first year, the Pens got 102 pts his second and they were in the Finals his 3rd. that's not gonna happen with Buff or Arizona, but if definitely could with the Leafs.
@Mattmark Lol...you're funny.
@mcloki I know. Johnny T is awesome...but McDavid will be much better. I'd wager that he gets more points that Tavares NEXT year.
@JWaterdrager He did put it on twitter. It's not like he was passing messages in gym class.
@mcloki McDavid is better than anything they've got. And it's not even close.
@Mattmark No, of course not. But I wouldn't start selling off prime assets (Dion and Phil) until we know where we're drafting.
@kxbarillas They're awesome, but McDavid is Crosby. There's a huge gap between him and everyone else.
@Yaknowwhat Was the tweet put on air on purpose...? Yes, of course it was. How else would it get there...by magic?
@Mattmark He's right...it IS the best shot at a generational talent that we've ever had. It's a long shot, but it's something.
@kxbarillas I've said this before, but if we were to win the lottery I feel the rebuild is essentially over. It may take one more draft, but McDavid is that good, and, as you say, we have a lot of good assets already that adding McDavid makes us a contender in 2-3 years. And a playoff team next year.
@WesternDP He should learn the law.
@LyGuy We'll see.
@Jmessih Too late dummy. This is gonna be expensive, for you guys and the idiot who wrote it. I'm glad too, this shit has to stop.
@hometeem Please don't say Phil. Kessel is 10 times the player O'Neill was, with 10 times the effort.
@Jay31 He was a lazy, cancerous coach-killing prick. He got about 20% out of his career that he should have because he refused to stay in shape. Anything he says should be immediately discarded.
@Sparrow I would say we just got rid of our only truly bad contract. We won't have to retain salary on Dion if we trade him in the summer I bet..

@Jay31 Tanking is very risky. The bottom line is if you have a good management team in place you can win the Cup without tanking. And if your management team are idiots it doesn't matter how many high picks you have...you're gonna suck.
@Potcy Have we decided we aren't yet? lol
@Potcy I agree. Obviously losing Clarkson is huge, but the others were all pending FA's anyway, so it's hard to say how much other money was saved, long term.

@Potcy I posted the numbers below.
@Potcy Out - Franson (3.3), Santo (1.5), Clarkson (5.25), Winnik (.65 half retained), Holzer (.787). Not counting Ollie since he was a net zero. Total is 11.487m.
In - Sill (.55), Lindstrom (.7), Brewer (2.87), Erizon (.6), Horton (5.3) for a total of 10.02m.
@Potcy 1.378M, without Horton's LTIR.
@Loric76 Can't be before the draft. The draft is when trading can start again.
