@wiski @-Keon- @Yaknowwhat I think we have had easier competition this year compared to last year over the first 9 games.

Flyers lose three straight. Time to fire the coach again.

We lost the Corsi battle again. When will it ever end!
@CanuckUKinToronto That is a crazy tough stretch between Dec 7th and Dec 17th. We play 7 games in 11 days.
7 - at Ottawa8 - vs Boston11 -vs LA12 - at St Louis14 - vs Chicago16 - at Pittsburgh17 - vs Florida
A lot of tough opponents in there too, so we better rack up the points before this stretch.

@GreekGod @CanuckUKinToronto @TheCanucksnaphook The Cap numbers work so why not!

It's really nice that we now have a team that finds ways to win rather than the teams we had for so long that found ways to loose.

@theacs1966 @Burtonboy Fraser has not been put on LTIR as far as I know.

@ingy56 @rustynail @theacs1966 Liles does not cost much more that anyone else to call up. We are only saving 925K having him in the minors.
@Jantz Lupul must have been on the ice for Kessel's goal in the first. Bolland's second goal was PP.

@Dangle_My_Berries @TOHockeyNut I thought he had a few good chances created by his speed..

Bodie played a great game tonight in his limited roll.
I was a little bored so I looked at the actual salary payroll (Not CAP Payroll) of the Leafs opening day roster as it looks now. With Liles demoted the Leafs will actually have one of the lowest "Actual salary payrolls for their active roster" in the league and that includes Clarkson who will be out the first 10 games. For the 22 man roster the total is only 54,835,000 plus potential bonuses. This number is pretty much in the same ball park as Colorado, Phoenix, Buffalo and Florida. Only Ottawa, Calgary and the New York Islanders will be paying significantly less for the actual on ice product in salary payroll.
This was quite shocking to see.

@thelongroad No if you claim a player you fully assume the remainder of the existing contract.
2 months, 2 weeks ago on Leafs waive John Michael Liles, 5 others
@mike_84 @TOHockeyNut @Burtonboy @-Keon- More expensive as the Leafs gave him a one way deal. They could have qualified him for about the same, but on a two way deal.
@mike_84 @Burtonboy @-Keon- Didn't Florida decide not to qualify Brennan which made him UFA?
Looks like Liles played so well for the Marlies last night that he played himself onto the team.

@Jay_Berg It was only 2 games he got into in the playoffs. some make it sound as if he played all seven games in the series. It was 2 games.
@theacs1966 @TheCanucksnaphook In basically an AHL game!
@CanuckUKinToronto @TOHockeyNut @Burtonboy Ashton is exempt from waivers.
@Burtonboy @CanuckUKinToronto @TOHockeyNut A Player can not be put on LTIR until Tuesday and teams have to be cap compliant on Monday. Maybe Ashton doesn't make the team either as a way to pick up additional depth or as I said a trade does happen first. There are still options available to Nonis.
