@Mcost61 @skiingallday I've been looking at the forecast back home everyday, all my buddies keep bugging me a bout it, but it's just as nice here.
I'm in enemy territory right now, just up north of Boston in cottage country. Heading to Toronto tomorrow though for a couple days.

@mike_84 night. I've got a magic cure for the Jays. Pick up the remote, press the channel up button. Problem solved.
@Bon Scott was a Leaf fan @mike_84 @skiingallday project free tv. Also a great resource
@mike_84 @skiingallday @Cloud09 so the ticket is cheaper than the beer?
fuck it's just like Phoenix Coyotes.... erm Arizona.
@Bon Scott was a Leaf fan @skiingallday @mike_84 I did it when I was home for the summer, so my pops picked me up and apparently I was being a little shit. Tried to get the laptop to go on MLHS ahah, but the dentist tell the "supervisor" to hide all electronics because there are so many cases where people post shit / send emails that they immediately regret once no longer loopy.
@Bon Scott was a Leaf fan @skiingallday @mike_84 naps, and movies are the way to go. You'll need to get someone to pick you up from the dentist and shit too. I don't remember much up until I got home and started crawling around the house looking for my phone.
@mike_84 @skiingallday @Bon Scott was a Leaf fan yea, didn't agree with me though, so I switched to advil... a lot of advil's

@DeclanK @MaxwellHowe @Greg Fenton @Bon Scott was a Leaf fan what's your opinion on Landeskog dec? He's one of my fave players.
@Bon Scott was a Leaf fan @mike_84 I just got all 4 out. Was high as a kite for a while, I was out of commish for a couple days, no point in doing half and half, just get er' done.
@CanuckUKinToronto love newfies. My best friend as a kid had a newfie... wasn't the smartest dog, but so loveable. Made the house smell funny tho
@mike_84 @Cloud09 but it'll be a worthless game. It's one of the reasons I hate baseball. Too many regular season games, not enough playoff series.
@rustynail yea wtf... fuck bettman
@Bon Scott was a Leaf fan @skiingallday @Cloud09 ah.

@Bon Scott was a Leaf fan @Cloud09 where is this and how do I find it?
@mike_84 thanks for reminding me I have to change my bandage. Sliced a huge chunk of my ... the finger that I don't know what it's called, beside the pinky.. on my 62' chevy the other day. Fucking brutal.
@Cameron19 @mike_84 @ShotgunCharlie @Alec Brownscombe wow cam... if you were born in 1919.... yikes.

@Dangle_My_Berries @skiingallday @Murph2417 learn it. live it. love it.
(I'm a computer engineer)
1 week ago on Friday Mashup: Leiweke not long for Toronto
@Dangle_My_Berries @skiingallday @Murph2417 this is assuming there's no logic, lol, it just checks to make sure that the suspension length is greater than the min, because lengthMax is multiplied by a pseudo random floating point number between [0.0,1.0] so it can't be greater than the max.
@Dangle_My_Berries @skiingallday @Murph2417
@Dangle_My_Berries @Murph2417 Random number generator?
# set parameters of Min and max suspension lengths depending on whether its an in person/phone call
lengthMin = 2
lengthMax = 5
def randNum(lengthMin, lengthMax):
susLength = lengthMax*random.random()
susLength < lengthMin
obviously would need to make some changes so it rounds to the nearest integer.
@Murph2417 @MaxwellHowe @-Keon yea I was dressed with kiddie swim stuff (goggles, snorkel, mermaid life jacket, a floaty duckie, flippers) and got a bucket dumped off the top of my boathouse and then I tried to dive into the lake. Didn't work tho, basically faceplanted due to all the flotation devices I had on.
@CanuckUKinToronto @skiingallday @-Keon just as it reallly caught on fire
@Murph2417 @skiingallday @4evrblue and actually I probs should've figured that out because we have 7 keepers total...
@Murph2417 @skiingallday @4evrblue ah. ESPN one is where its at ;)
@CanuckUKinToronto @skiingallday @-Keon I got first crack at both my friend groups in Van and in Kingston... they weren't too happy.
@Murph2417 @skiingallday @4evrblue ok which team are you in the espn one? If im in that one.... it's pretty obvious
@Murph2417 @4evrblue How many MLHS leagues are there? I'm in the ESPN one where fuckin' JVR hasn't lost a season yet.
@-Keon I've also already done it.
@CanuckUKinToronto @mcloki 8 more weeks and firefly will be crashing.

@Mcost61 @skiingallday @ingy56 yep, that's how my dad learned manual, and how I learned manual. Just keep passing it through the generations.
@ingy56 @skiingallday Here she is
@ingy56 @skiingallday chevy stepside truck.
Fuckin eh, wash washing the 62' chevy and sliced my finger open. Cleaned the wound up real nice but it's a pain the the ass to type now.
@Bon Scott was a Leaf fan @skiingallday yea, you get the rearview backup cam which I love too.
1 week, 4 days ago on Maple Leafs hire Brandon Pridham as new assistant GM
@Bon Scott was a Leaf fan @skiingallday ah, yea it ain't the prettiest, but I loved the interior more than the others, still got the harmon kardon audio without needing to buy all the fancy nav shit. Also, the sightlines are way better, it feels like you have way more visibility than the other suvs because of the lower sill height in the forester.
@Bon Scott was a Leaf fan @Murph2417 @mike_84 yea my fam hasn't had great experiences with audis. Always some expensive little part constantly breaks or malfunctions
@Bon Scott was a Leaf fan @mike_84 Subaru.
@Bon Scott was a Leaf fan Gotta go with the subaru forester here. I have the 2014 model and love it. It has by far the best awd capabillity and has a great ride to go along with it.
@EricHussey2Day @Greg Fenton You're not gonna last long on here bud.

Man I feel like garbage today. Had my last day of work for the summer yesterday.
@Burtonboy @skiingallday I'm just starting to learn all this stuff, which is the future of computing, so I feel like I will be set in the next few years ahah. So excited for the future right now.
3 weeks, 4 days ago on Thursday Mashup: It’s Going to be a Long Month
@Burtonboy @skiingallday yes, I believe it would be an extremely powerful tool if used properly by them. The difference between a traditional "relational database" and a 'big data database" is that it's not strucured like SQL, its very flexible and each cell of data can be accessed by a keyvalue pair. This allows you to be able to pour massive amounts of data in, that may not be all in the same format, without enduring massive costs to curate it to make it the exact same format (same column names ect...).
Current SQL databases make it really hard to add a lets say a "circle" to a database with a million "triangles", whereas something based on googles BigTable design (accumulo ect..) will allow you to add it as long as it has a defined key value (such as a combination of time stamp, id of circle, permissions for others to view) and it will just store the key value into the table, which is then used to fetch the circle instead of trying to store the "circle" itself in the table.
Kind of a rambling explantion, but its early, and I'm not even sure how many of you care about this lol.
@Burtonboy loved that article, right now I'm interning at a company that is focused on big data in healthcare. It's really fascinating. The term "Big Data" itself is a little misleading, yes you want to be able to store a fuckton of data, but your not going to look at all of it at once. What it really helps with is filtering down to view a smaller subset of data that you might not be able to see with a traditional relational database.
Think of it like google maps, if you search for "italian restaurant" its not gonna show you every italian restaurant in the world. Google, although they have a huuuuge database full of restaurants with a tag for "italian" it will filter it down and provide you with a small, mangagable, but useful subset of data. For ex. it might provide 4&5 star review italian restaurants within 5km of your house.
This is what germany is doing as well, with soccer, which is brilliant, because with big data analysis it's much easier to find correlations between different problems (ex. diabetes & increased heart problems) or (completed passes by Ozil & offensive zone time) which can prove to be extremely powerful. I really hope the leafs trend in this direction.
Big Data is the future of databases (Analyzing useful smaller chunks of data derived from an extremely large set of data)
somehow they failed to mention how pacioretty sucked ass in the playoffs and JVR looked like a god.
