@Mcost61 @barjv01 This statement is based on no facts whatsoever. Both Stammer and Phil have shown the capability of being great playmakers. Just because they have wicked shots, does not mean they can't move the puck. JVR-Stamkos-Kessel could find a way to work no problem.

@DeclanK @MaxwellHowe I wasn't aware of his shyness due to acne. I suffered the same thing as a teenager. Really hindered my confidence even though I'm a good lookin dude. Thought that crap would never go away. But ehhh, 24 now and she's all gone! The cure for me after trying everything? Running outside (release toxins from skin), eating lots of apples (oxidizes blood), showering in warm water, using cetaphils no fragrance face cleanser, then using cold water at the end of a shower, then using cetaphil's moisturizing lotion. Stopped washing the face so much too. Gotta let that good bacteria heal skin tissues! Coloidal (and or ionic) Silver on the skin works great too. Probably better to start out with than cetaphil.

This was posted for anybody who suffers the same issues. Its tough, i can relate.

PS: Also, avoid touching face with finger tips as much as possible. Use your palms, the back of your hand or forearms to avoid new breakouts.

@T K O @Savo43 Well im sorry for being so careless about a stupid topic. As for my response, the point in it, was to move on and talk about shit that isn't so pointless. There is shit that i care about on these forums, and shit i dont. What Lieweke says about an unknown character in our organization is just gossip about a hypothetical person. Who the fuck knows who he's talking about, so who cares. Why should we sit here and play the guessing game, and point fingers at innocent ppl over one persons judgement? Its ridiculous.

@T K O @Savo43 I could care less man. I just want to see hockey, not talk shit about what somebody thinks about somebody. This is gossip. Its one mans opinion on a players attitude. Who gives a fuck. People are misunderstood in this world, especially by their bosses. Its not surprising that a boss thinks his employee is an asshole. This is not news, its just stupid. If the team gets along, thats all that matters. And if not, then hopefully we can just win anyways. Winning changes everything

What we're losing in all of this "bad character" stuff, is that assholes win the cup all the time. Its weird...but after saying this, all i can see is Scott Stevens crying about player safety in this moment (cue the Domi on Niedermayer hit). What a goof Stevens is. lol. Guess he forgot about all the careers he's ended when he made those comments about players having families lolol.

@mtommy @barjv01 I think youre picking a fight over something he clearly said was hypothetical. Sometimes things dont have to be logical to be fathomable. The stars may never align for a scenario, but that doesn't make it disinteresting. He is clearly saying, itd be cool to have all the higher expectation, and higher potential prospects play on the same team, as a hypothetical, because it would be cool. This has nothing to do with Abbotts production, or role, but something that would just be cool to see and possibly better for the individual development of our prospects (but perhaps not as successful for the actual Marlies squad). Abbott could turn out better than anyone in our system though, sure. Who knows. But in the realm of age relativity, and prospects we actually drafted, and drafted recently, (which makes them younger), its appealing to the mind. Thats all hes saying.

@cryptotho He was the teams best possession player because he never passed the puck. Simple. Centermen are facilitators when most effective, not puck hogs who get killed skating with their heads down through the neutral zone because they don't know which player to move the puck to. Grabo disappeared offensively and defensively for longer stretches than Kessel, and far more often. He was paid way too much for a guy who only sometimes could produce at a 2nd line rate.

I loved Grabo for the drama, and snarky attitude, but every Stanley Cup champion team since the beginning of time has won one without him. The Leafs will not live or die by the subtraction of Grabo, they will just move forward. Your posts are realllly dramatic. PS: Kadri is already better than Grabo.

Ppl are expecting Booth to be similar to Raymond from a production standpoint...and yeah...mayyyybe. but really the two players really aren't that comparable. Booth is alot tougher to play against, he's alot grittier, whose skating is a little choppier but just as effective, and definitely more effective on the forecheck. His out put goal wise could be Raymond-esque or better, but he probably won't be near Raymonds assist numbers (but i guess strangeer things have happened). It'll be good not to have to watch Raymond making an east west pass in the offensive zone that leads to an opposition scoring chance though thats for sure lol.

So i just realized...That yeah Leiweke is pertty much gone....but we still have all the hockey minds in place that he put there...People in this organization have heard his word...why do we think that the organization didn't learn a whole bunch from his attitude? Why do we assume that just because the media is painting it like its the end of the world, that a culture hasn't already been planted (much to the likes of a seed) with his presence?

That it hasn't begun to grow internally within all those that were around him?

I think the media just wants to talk us back into our hole..but naw i think we've actually taken too many steps forward as an organization to turn this thing around.

The culture has changed, and we're on the right track. We just need to hire his brother now....lolol.

So...is this franchise wanting a winner? Or do they want to just continue money-grabbing from losing teams because they can? Leiweke leaving is making me slightly depressed about MLSE as a whole. I feel like the ppl up top realize that winning it all could actually hurt business down the road, and the benefactor of us "beleafing" we'll someday win, is more destined for financial gain than building a culture around actually winning. I hope this isn't the case, and that whatever im saying doesn't make sense, but at the end of the day its a business...and if they're making money...lots of it...perhaps theyre more so thinking along the lines of... "if we aint broke, don't fix it"...

Any people to talk hockey with? This music stuff is keeping me pretty much off the site....lol... How about our divisional matchups this year? Who do we think has improved, or gotten worse? who do we think we could possibly gain ground on or have success against this season? Does our youth and speed injection finally get the better of an aging Boston? How about Detroit? Do they regress, or get better with the added age and experience of a Nyquist and Tatar?

1 month ago on Maple Leafs hire Brandon Pridham as new assistant GM

Reply

@dlb Mad Confidence definitely changed you're right. It ensured that he made smart plays rather than forced plays, which made him far more successful. Bozak has always had the skill and attributes of a solid contributor, but he never took the time to realize that he too can make a move before making a play, or dart through and make himself available for a "tip in". Ppl think tip ins are easy to attain, but to do so, we must beat a defender with deceptive speed and unpredictable agility. Bozak used this so greatly last season and because of it he got points. He's only going to get better, and he'll do just fine again as our guy manning the top line.

@Mikey @djamon @Jmessih Career trajectory has nothing to due with attributes, but to success in regards to age and progression. Bozak could easily become a dominant forward in this league. Patrick Sharp dominant? Probbbbably not. But nothing is impossible.

@djamon @Mattmark You clearly didn't watch the 13 games he had Kadri as their center. The top line was horrible. Bozak came back and they dominated. Bozak is one of the only reasons the top line gets the puck out of our own zone. Watch the entire ice, and not just the side that caters to your excitement and perhaps gain a perspective that is more on the true side.
