Columbus is an interesting team to watch.  Not immensely talented by any means, but everyone seems to be in sync, they skate hard, excellent puck support and all seem to be very strong on the puck.  Its no coincidence they kicked the Leafs around all season.

So Quennville is fined $25 000 for grabbing his own balls, and that POS Lucic gets $5000 for trying to detach Dekeyser's?  Nice going NHL

53 minutes ago on Morning Mashup

Probably the most pansy ass part of that Lucic spear is the fact it was preceded by an excellent and clean hit on him by Dekeyser.  Should be at least 2 games, but who really believes the NHL will do anything?

@ingy56 @daniel marois Over and over again, bears repeating, the Leafs may not have the best dman corps in the league, but the Leafs forwards made them look much worse than they are.  Gunnar hurt, Phanuef hurt, Gleason tired, Franson probably hurtin'.  Why is that?  Because they 're always under pressure, Leafs forwards never keep the puck in the opposition end and there is very little backcheck support.

Gary Suter would NEVER be able to play 30 mins a game on this team.

Usually dmen can coast, take it easy.  Not a dman for the TML

@Jordan29 But isn't ROR a UFA as well?  Can't get much for rights to a guy who can jump to the open market.  If I were Patrick Roy - well first I would get therapy, and then I would get a #1 Defenceman by way of trade for Duchene, who is locked up long term.

@CanuckUKinToronto @NotTheCanucksnaphook Stasney's future is in his own hands.  Tho I wouldn't be terribly surprised if the Avs signed him to a biggie and tried to flip Duchene for a top level Dman.

I don't necessarily advocate that trade, but I think it would make sense for the Oilers.  I suppose you could top it up with a prospect like D'Amigo or Ashton or Holland

He has proven he can play at a high level in the NHL.  Now gone off to play for the US at the worlds.  He is the proverbial bird in the hand for an organization (Oilers) that needs to show results now.  Not one of the prospects in the draft, obviously, have shown they can play in the NHl yet

You suggested paying Bodie and McClement top bucks for a year.  And my suggestion is problematic?  take on overpaid guys, get picks and prospects for doing so, get to the cap floor. Hell, then put them in the press box for the year if necessary.
