@whalz Bolland knows the precarious situation he is in. I think he ain't rushing back to the Leafs because he doesn't want to risk struggling and hurting his bargaining position.
In fact - if I was a conspiracy buff, I would wonder if he is engaged in a de facto hold out. Think about it. It was understood that negotiations were going to be held during the Olympic break. Nothing seems to have come of it. Maybe he isn't interested in risking anything without some type of security.

@Cameron19 @MaxwellHowe@CanuckUKinToronto why not let him sit one or two games?
Gardiner and Rielly were both exceptional last night, which suggests that the bigger forwards, such as the Flyers have, are not going to intimidate them

@CanuckUKinToronto @MaxwellHowe@Cameron19 of course

@Cameron19 @MaxwellHowe@CanuckUKinToronto and I wonder if the break and rest for Franson has had a similar effect. He's not perfect but he hasn't been the human pylon he was before the break
@CanuckUKinToronto @MaxwellHowe@Cameron19 I'm betting the Leafs shock us and win all 3. They do shit like that all the time. Lose to Tavares less Isles, lose to Price-less Habs, then beat teams they shouldn't

@CanuckUKinToronto @MaxwellHowe I agree - people talk abou the need to upgrade, but I do see these guys improving and there are very good prospects with the Marlies. Gunnersson has really upped his game IMHO

@CanuckUKinToronto @Cameron19 too bad the Leafs game in hand on the Habs is against the same San Jose team that thumped them last nite

I think the defence is playing better overall. Dion must be injured because he looked out of sorts, Franson made a mistake in coverage, but overall there are signs of improvement.

Not that I expected the Leafs to hold the lead, but this wasn't the first time I've seen a McLaren / Orr staged fight occur when the Leafs had the lead - only to see the lead evaporate afterward.

@wiski Blinding the shooters. Interesting strategy.

@rustynail The long shifts were an obvious problem from the beginning. Not cool. The Leafs can't duplicate the quality of play of Team Canada, but should be able to imitate the shift length discipline
@Optimustic @MaxwellHowe I know, didn't mean to appear combative
@Optimustic @MaxwellHowe Love Couturier. Any GM seeking defensive help from the Leafs should probably lose his job.
San Jose leading 1 zip over scabs
@Optimustic The Flyers D is shit. Leafs let them off the hook by halting any semblance of a forecheck in the 2nd period
@Tim Horton Only one was really a point shot, and I doubt he ever saw it
@rustynail @MaxwellHowe yeah, no one ever notices Dion and offers criticism or praise. Stupid me
Wasn't around tonite, but I imagine the fact Dion is obviously playing hurt was a topic of conversation. Gonna have to keep playing 7 D to really get his minutes down
I predicted before the game the Leafs would win 5 to 3 and it would be a big game for Lupul.
Of course, I only made that prediction because I been slagging Lupul all week, and players I slag always respond like that.
P.S. Kessel sucks
shifts are too long boys
