@RememberSalming @Anthony Petrielli I think Bergevin has done really well in Montreal. He's crushed a lot of GMs in trades. I think we'll see the shift happen slowly, and it's sort of starting now.

@RememberSalming I would say in part yes, GMs have been slow to adjust to the changing landscape of the league and also fall in love with their players. Dean Lombardi chose to try and get Richards to workout this summer versus a clean compliance buyout. Richards has 2 Cups and an Olympic gold, and is set for life financially. The chances he'd train properly when he already wasn't were slim to none. Yet here we are.

@MaxwellHowe Could probably fleece a team like PHI right now if you have cap space... "Sure we'll take Lecalvier's deal off your hands, but we want Brayden Schenn for free to do it basically."

@penchantforbeingmuppets Yeah he would have to redefine his game, but I think he probably needs to lose 15 pounds or something and get a little smaller but up his skating in the process. Looks like an old beer leaguer far too often for a guy that isn't even 30.

@Forever17 @Anthony Petrielli I think he's a summer/next trade deadline trade for that reason. Would still push Lupul for Berglund though. STL needs another game breaker like him.

@MaxwellHowe @Anthony Petrielli @Xxxxxnew I wouldn't go to Western Canada just because it's freezing cold and the travel is brutal.  Vancouver is the only one where the media would actually bug me, but VAN is very nice.

I don't think Lupul has much value right now. If he was healthy all year I bet he'd the net strongest return of all (save for Phil/JVR, obviously). If they can get Berglund for him I'd do that. Probably have to wait until the summer or next deadline to move Lupul though.

@Cameron19 @Anthony Petrielli @mcloki @Burtonboy I'd like to dig into his scoring a little more, but I also think he's better at C than on the wing and played a lot of DZ C for Duchene when they played together.

@Burtonboy @Anthony Petrielli @mcloki I think it's okay on a shorter term IE 6.5Mx5 years, cause he'll be 29 when it ends and you're paying him in his prime... Now if he wants 7x7? No chance.

@Burtonboy @Anthony Petrielli Need to look into it, but MacKinnon also started off the year like garbage.

Their line combos were really weird to start, signing Iginla and having Tanguay as these two, slow, veterans with young, fast C's. From the outside seems like it took Roy time to get that mix right.
