@Hammertownleaffan @Jay31 Have to consider the source.

@Jay31 And they also are dressing 6 left shooting defenceman and are unlikely to trade for another one.
@Mattmark @DeclanK If you're looking for projections based on current output, let's put it this way:
Strome is playing 2nd line minutes—with less ice time—and is currently 2nd in the OHL points race in his draft year.
They are projecting that he can can dominate games to an even higher level than he's currently exhibiting, which is exceptional, and take games over. With more viewings, you see trends and make pronouncements like the ones above. It's how scouting works.
The smaller, skilled player—currently playing more minutes on the 1st line—has a few more points than him but is likely closer to their ceiling.
It isn't irrelevant because you literally just contested that projecting is the name of the game in scouting:
"The point, though, which you seem to be missing, is that whether you're a Toews or a sixth-rounder your ranking is generally based on what you've done, not on what someone predicts you should be able to do once you 'break out.' "
@Mattmark @DeclanK I'm not missing a point; you're talking about a 5th-7th overall pick not being a slam-dunk NHLer (he's probably going back to Jr next year), which is 100% normal. 2 players made the NHL as 18 year olds this season.
2 will probably make it this coming year.
They entire drafting process is based on projecting what players *might* become and not what they are, because you are looking at humans that are still growing and that couldn't play a lick in the NHL.

@Mattmark @DeclanK He's no Tavares, Stamkos or Toews. PPG centerman are more rare than people think. Tavares broke Gretzky's junior #s and is currently a PPG center. There are 6 of them in the league, 2 of which play for Pittsburgh. It's not shameful to be a 65pts centerman in the league. That's the best center we'll have had since Sundin, is 6'3 and can play up against the big boys.
@Mike Clemons @DeclanK @Mattmark Ya, his skill levels are off the charts. Small wingers are easy to come by via trade or free agency, but it would be very hard to pass over this kid. He's ripping the league to shreds right now.
@Mattmark @DeclanK I think Strome has shown that he's going to be OK. Also, that's kinda the name of the game with scouting, considering the entire exercise is based on projections.
@Yaknowwhat And keep building down the middle 1-4
@Mattmark @DeclanK With reference to what, @Mattmark
@Mike Clemons @DeclanK Tavares broke Gretzky's junior #s and is currently a PPG center. There are 5 of them in the league, 2 of which play for Pittsburgh. It's not shameful to be a 65pts centerman in the league.

3. Dylan Strome - Forward - Erie OttersTotal Votes: 16Highest Placement/Lowest Placement: 2nd (4x)/4th (3x)Comments:"Strome has been progressively more impressive in each of my views this season and is someone who really does not yet know how dominant he can be in this league. His game will only become more impressive as he learns to fully utilize his great size, reach and adds more strength to his frame. This kid will breakout eventually and will be almost impossible to contain once he does." - Dan Stewart"That big center every team wants. Strome still has to fill out his frame, but once he does so he'll be an all-around force who can put up points and take care of his duties in the defensive zone, too." - Ryan Kennedy"Ryan Strome told me that his brother plays with a little more of an edge than he did his draft year. Similarly, both Ryan and Dylan have that competitive edge and grittiness. Dylan wants the puck and wants to score and wants to win. He's driven and has that competitive edge. I think a fair comparison is a Ryan Kesler or a Cory Perry type; a guy who's a strong skater, has agility and that reach that scouts love to see." - Mike Morreale"This is one list you will not see Dylan Strome take back seat to more ‘toolsy’, unproven players, which has happened in consensus reports. Strome’s strong IQ is locked in at a high level, nearly guaranteeing NHL status. He has proven success without #97, has size, and offensive vision, so really all scouts have to question is if he can be a top line center without all the flash.” - Anthony Mauro"Dylan Strome possesses a strong skill set. Strome has a great pro shot, love his wrist shot. He knows how to find open space too and passes the puck well. The puck seems to always find him, a strong sign of a good player." - Manny Paiva
@Mike Clemons @DeclanK That's a terrible scouting report. He reached with his stick too much?
@Mike Clemons Leave the scouting to the pros.
@Mike Clemons @DeclanK Something smells fishy with that deal. He might not play hockey ever again with his medical condition.
@Dogger They called it murder. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=taeL55uR9rs
Refresh the page, folks. *Should have fixed things*
#Flyers trade Kimmo Timonen, who hasn't played this season due to blood clots, to #Blackhawks for 2015 2nd-rounder and conditional 2016 4th.
The #blackhawks have acquired Kimmo Timonen from the #flyers.

@FrycersGhost We knew about the Clarkson trade 1hr before it happened.
@zoidbergman Gotta be careful with the bad rumour sources, guys. I know it's fun, but it's just nonsense.
Curious to see if we can get anymore thoughts on Clarkson from Nonis after yesterday.

Poulin on TH2N. He was one of the ones responsible for signing it. Should be interesting to hear how he explains himself.
@.Kong. Solid 2nd period. Totally sucked them into the plan.
