I love Klein. Despite the amount of goals he scores on his own goalie. Such a steal for Sather. Nice to see him get a big goal.

They were just waiting to score the first power play goal against the devils.

I think the Hagelin Moore Stempniak line has a lot of potential. Those are probably the three hardest working forwards on the team. The top two lines are weird. He's got both Nash and Zuccarello on their off-wings.

I wish someone would finish Hayes' brilliant passes. I also wish Hayes would stop taking the puck around the net on odd man rushes.

I am shocked that Kostka is not in the lineup tonight. In his first game as a Ranger he had two beautiful primary assists!

@Hotfreak @ATCRyan I think he looked absolutely terrible in the preseason, but really good in game one. Ironically everyone was on his case about not blocking that shot during the preseason, and then he did in a game 1…

@IhateGaborik @JoeyKocur It's hard to say that you wouldn't want Ovechkin on your team, but he is a really one dimensional player. Can you imagine him trying to become a center because of a void on the team? Wouldn't happen. I remember all the moaning and groaning when they put him on the opposite wing.

@gzulux @Say my Name Malone allowing Martin to push him repeatedly into the boards all the while grinning a shit grin was like vintage Avery. It warmed my heart.

@J_CKfor30 @Wallace1 Nobody foresaw MSL becoming a first line center when that contract was given. Also Jordan Staal was getting paid something similar as a third line center in Pittsburg. It's not without precedent.

@J_CKfor30 @Wallace1 Reunite the Zucc Brass third line with Malone or Hayes in Poop's position. I don't think AV is going to play Brass a certain way because of how much he's getting paid.

I'm for keeping MSL at center when Step comes back. He is seriously really good at that position and the best teams seem to have two top-line caliber centers.

I'm always for a big hit on Clarkson, but how did Glass not get a penalty on that? Also he almost killed his own teammate.

@McPhee37 @KevinMccarthy The fourth line last year got a lot of love. It helped that they could actually keep up with the pace of the game and relieve top line guys of a large workload.

I do think Malone should get into the lineup on Tuesday (and can't see why he won't after this loss) but maybe on the third line since he can actually score.

@J_CKfor30 @Bueller Didn't Klein play on the top pairing in Nashville? I think he can handle that role. Although maybe you want to move Moore up and pair Klein with Hunwick to make up for some defensive mistakes.

Tonight the Flyers are putting out their A team, including Giroux. It's gonna be interesting to see how Duclair and Haggerty play against a real team, especially since the Rangers lineup is not so good.

@Billfrom Brookhaven If we wanted to get rid of Staal we would have kept Stralman. There's no one to replace him.

@Josh-CK Giroux's injured isn't he? But good point. The Flyers team tonight was a bad lineup by even Flyer's standards.

Klein looked good again. WIth Stralman gone I think he's gonna have to take a bigger role. I'm not sure how much Dan Boyle can be counted on in PKs or tough D-zone starts.

@Herman_NYRBlog @shishya100 Although Ovechkin talked Kuznetsov into playing with him on the Caps. Rangers don't have any great Russian players to make pitches. Though I do agree that most of these guys want to prove themselves in the NHL first. They can go back to the KHL at any time and get a huge paycheck.
