Bring back Carcillo!!!

If Thornton ever became a Ranger, I guarantee we would just end up witnessing yet another expensive marquee player having the worst seasons of his career in a rapid downward spiral of stats.

Let's see...Richards, Nash, Redden, Gomez, Drury.....Thornton?

I agree...I have mixed emotions about Richards.  He's a complete class act, and really made me rethink the buyout.  You can't help but love this guy, and his leadership. Its true he will continue to decline, and he certainly would hurt the team with all that cash tied up.  But from the human perspective, I will truly miss Brad Richards as a Ranger.

Honestly, there are a few things I never thought I'd be saying back in November...hats off to this absolutely resilient and exciting Rangers team, and to AV who hung in there and turned things around, Lundqvist, who proved to the naysayers that he's a truly elite goaltender, Boyle, who still can't fight, but brings so much more to this team, and seriously, I NEVER thought I'd say this, but hats off and tons of credit to Sather, who pulled off some fantastic moves to give this team some much needed depth and character.  Amazing...I'm elated, and excited, and sorry to say it, but screw Callahan, who Sather did his best to try and re-sign.  He got greedy and now he's on the outside looking in at what could a been.

Oh and one more surprising one...hats off to tonight's MSG crowd, who were loud from the opening faceoff to the final salute at center ice.  Made me damn proud.

 Let's go Rangers!!!!

I was wondering the exact same thing about the lack of obvious diving calls against Montreal in this series.  How many were called against the Rangers vs. Pittsburgh?  3 or so I think.  This is ridiculous, and it makes Hockey look bad.

Let's also give AV some credit here.  The guy has proven to be one hell of a coach.

I'm damn happy to have him.

I'm just afraid that Carcillo won't be a Ranger next year because of this.  I honestly think he should be resigned.  We need his intensity, and he actually has some talent.  Great 4th line player who has his teammates' backs.

I have to admit, I was really really skeptical of AV taking over for Torts, but I have to tip my hat to Sather (did I really just say that?).  He's made a bunch of great moves, and AV really has shown he can adapt his game when needed.  In the past, under Torts, the Rangers would drive me crazy, because they seemed to let up off the gas with a 1 or 2 goal lead, apparently expecting Hank and shot-blocking to keep that lead.  I love that AV seems to want to run up the score and go for the kill in every game.  THAT is how you win, and put doubt in the opponent.

My only gripe would be, I wish they had more physicality, and toughness, but right now, I'm enjoying the hell out of watching this Rangers team.

@johnnyranger  that's not gonna happen.  Ranger fans at MSG are just as neutered physically as our Ranger team.  More likely, visiting Philly fans will still jump Rangers fans at MSG and leave completely unscathed.

AV won't put Carcillo in, which is insane.  If Carcillo was in this game, Simmonds doesn't score 3 goals for sure.  He would be too preoccupied with Carcillo to score.

I honestly haven't seen the same Rangers team show up since the Columbus game.  We need that intensity every damn game now...and not just from Nash...the whole team needs to feel it and bring it.

Unfortunately, the same way we all need to accept that this Ranger team will never do what the 2011-2012 Ranger team did, we also need to accept that most of us may actually die before Sather leaves this team.  We are just as stuck with Sather as we are with this team that won't drop the gloves to provide a spark or set a tone.

So sad.

As much as I love Cally and hate Sather...Sather would be a damn fool to sign Callahan for that kind of money and length.  He has not played a full season, and with the cap, it just wouldn't make sense.  I don't believe Callahan when he says his heart is with the Rangers...if that was true, his demands would be more realistic.

Why would this surprise anyone?  One only needs to look at Sather's history to see this is the norm for him.  Scott Gomez, Chris Drury, Wade Redden...the list goes on.  This is typical Glen Sather.

Carcillo is exactly what this (formerly) lifeless team has needed and then-some!  He was definitely the agitator we've been sorely missing up until this point.I really thought Simmonds was going to absolutely demolish Boyle...who I knew wouldn't even dare throw a single punch...actually, I'm not even sure the guy even knows how to.This was a great, classic Rangers-Flyers rivalry game.  Real fun game to watch for sure.

When is everyone here going to realize the obvious?  There is never going to be any fire lit under these Rangers' collective asses, nor will we ever see any true passion from this Rangers team!  Kevin is absolutely right when he stated that Sather completely dismantled that team.Sather is the problem, and he's just not going away.  I honestly can hardly stand watching this team...if the zombie apocalypse struck us tomorrow, I'm pretty sure we wound find out Patient Zero was a Ranger. Now Dorsett is out, and if Zucc goes down, I may completely tune out.All the people holding out hope or saying things ain't so bad, or this team is better than their record, have their heads in the sand.  THIS team is going nowhere.  IF they do make the playoffs, this team has a guaranteed first round exit...they will be pushed around and manhandled, and every NHL team knows they can do this at will, and with no repercussions.  Hell, Sestito taunted the entire team about that fact...and I'm glad he did.  Unfortunately for us fans, it fell on deaf ears...damn zombies.

I don't care if he makes mistakes...he brings toughness to a team that desperately needs it.  There is a difference between a player being present on the ice, and a player being a presence.  Right now the Rangers players are simply present out there.  Maybe McIlrath can be the presence we so desperately need.

I couldn't agree more with this article.  People blasted poor Torts for his defensive style of hockey, but clearly he was doing the best he could with what he was given.  We all knew this, yet people still jumped on the anti-Torts bandwagon rather than the fire Sather freight train.  Speaking of which...I was at Saturday night's game against the Devils, and I didn't hear a single "Fire Sather" chant.  What's going on?

Well said...speaking of Jagr, let's all remember Sather was the genius that chose not to re-sign him after a lower scoring (for Jagr) season, even though he broke Graves' single season scoring record just a season earlier.  He also chose not to re-sign Shanahan on a team that needed scoring...a team where Shanahan and Jagr were the top goal scorers.  Sather is a guy who thought signing Gomez, Drury, Redden and Roszival to long, expensive contracts was a great idea.  A guy who let Colton Orr go, and believed the despised and aging Donald Brashear was a smarter choice.  A guy who thought Brandon Prust didn't add enough to the team to hold onto.Sather felt the problem with the New York Rangers was the coach...who I'm sure he will begin blaming soon enough, because the problem certainly cannot be Sather himself.

Meh...typical Sather move..sign an aging, veteran star player to a high-paying long term contract as their career moves in an undeniable downward progression.  Drury, Gomez, Richards...all of these come to mind.

This is not unexpected.  No disrespect to Hank...love the guy...but why not 4 years?  Sather just pisses me off.

I completely respect Dorsett, but its total BS that the guy is the lone Ranger ( no pun intended) who can actually mix it up.   In fact, it's absolutely inexcusable.  The fact that Sestito called out the entire Rangers' bench simply means that the entire NHL knows what all us Ranger fans know.  Sather has built a team that is far too soft to go far and compete with teams that are not soft.

This game should be a wake up call to Sather to get off his ass and get us some damn muscle.

Boyle should be embarrassed with that girly attempt at protecting a teammate.  While I appreciated his standing up, he looks so pathetic in a physical confrontation for a guy his size, it makes one wonder why he didn't choose baseball as his sport rather than hockey.

Tortorella is my favorite Rangers coach in the las 15 or so seasons.  Who is more memorable, barring Mike Keenan?  John Muckler?  Colin Campbell?  Tom Renney?  AV has inherited the mess Sather created...the team that unfortunately got Tortorella fired.  So far, AV seems pissed at the lack of effort and talent on this team...and rightfully so.  The question is, can he squeeze as much blood from this stone as Torts did?  I'm not so sure, but one thing is certain... AV will be on the hot seat long before Sather ever looks in the goddam mirror at the real problem here.
