When MLB Network airs a game not televised by CSN, it is not blacked out in the Bay Area. MLB.TV telecasts are still blacked out, though.

@RetepAdam  Exactly. The headline isn't really accurate, as Kiper doesn't even mention Faulk. You can even give Kiper credit for ripping the Alberts pick.

I think you missed the most obvious change: switching to a 24-second shot clock. Part of the reason teams choose to start fouling early is that the other teams can waste 35 seconds every time that they have the ball.

I grew up in the Bay Area in the mid-2000s, when KNBR was the only option for sports talk radio, and I'm not surprised that Damon Bruce made this HOT SPORTS TAKE. His show is abhorrent, and he's always had this uber-jock attitude.

I wonder if KNBR will bring the hammer down on him like they did on Larry Krueger for his "braindead Caribbean hitters" comments back in 2005.

I think MLB was definitely helped by SNF having arguably its worst matchup of the season.

This was a very interesting read. It's going to be sad after 2014 when ESPN loses rights to the World Cups. I'm terrified at the prospect of Gus Johnson calling World Cup games.

This sounds like an awesome idea. I love the NFL RedZone, it will be interesting to see if the format works for soccer.

@morganwick You are correct about Cowherd's new show, it will be on ESPN2 at 9 am ET. It looks like OTL got bumped an hour earlier to 8 am on ESPN2. I'm not sure what ESPN airs at 9 on ESPN.

For me, I never watch the 30-minute highlight shows because they don't show all of the highlights. I liked 90s era Sportscenter because it gave comprehensive highlights of what happened that day. You just can't do that in a 30-minute show. During the summer, I can watch Quick Pitch and actually get comprehensive MLB highlights. I'm hopeful that Fox Sports Live will be different, but would not be surprised if they are a Sportscenter knockoff.

@daut I second this. How does the writer not know who David Ferrer is? He just played in the French Open final a month ago. What a shoddy article.

You should also add the Giants to your list, as they own 30% of CSN Bay Area.
