@JustinRP37Exactly - the only positive in that game IMO is that finally we have someone on this team other than Dorsett with a set of balls. As far as everything else goes,it took a shootout to beat one of the worst teams in the league and they were lucky they didn't lose. This team is not good. Still too soft, still too small, still to skilled. The funny thing is for all the skill they have, they can't score. Very few guys on this team are willing to pay the price to score goals

You guys do realize that McGrattan is currently a top 3, if not the #1 HW in this league, right? The kid showed me something to step right in, in his 2nd NHL game and take on a legit fighter. He didn't go after some bum who he knew he could shitkick, he was willing to step to one of the best in the league at their craft. He looks lost in his own zone so far however and looks to need a lot of work. Thankfully we finally have someone who will punish the other team or stand up against the HWs of the league and not embarrass themselves

Has he been great, certainly not. And with that new contract he damn well better be a lot better but he hasn't been as bad as some are making out. Honestly, at this point I'm more disappointed in his linemates - Captain Cally and Artsy Fartsy. Dubi hasn't seemed too into it yet. He did lead the charge up the ice and make a nice pass in Calgary that set up the GWG. Once again, Dubi's main problem has always been consistency. I may be wrong but it seems like every year he starts off slow. Like I said, right now I'm more worried about Callahan who seems like he forgot that the reason he got the "C" is because the intensity he brings 82 games a season. So far, that intensity has been a big flop.

Exactly, the writing was on the wall before Avery even laced them up. You put two blank name plates on the back of Avery & EC's back and ask anyone who has ever watched a single hockey game who was the better/more effective player and anyoneone with a semblence of hockey knowledge picks Avery. Unfortunately, many don't like Avery b/c of his reputation and even more unfortunate is that one of those people is Torts. It's ridiculous that Avery is in CT. He's a spark plug that this team will need in some games. EC is the biggest waste of space on the team, and one of, if not the most inconsistent players in the entire league.

@ScottyHockey Exactly, as much as I like guys like Dubi, Callahan; the only true untouchable on this team is Lundqvist. You should only be untouchable if you are the best in the league at your position and Hank is arguably that. I would trade any player on this roster plus a 1st rounder (except Lundqvist) for Weber. It's an easy decision. But, I think this is a moot point b/c there's no way NY gets Weber

I don't hate Micheletti but he can get a tad annoying. He has to point out about 500x in one game when anyone is playing that's from Minnesota. Ok, once is fine but by the 5th time it just gets ridiculous. He also makes mistakes all the time w/ player IDs. I also remember last year when he was avidly saying the puck hadn't crossed the line and the replay in front of us was showing the puck about a foot over the goal line.

Although Sam is not what he once was he still is one of the best in the game, maybe I'm a litle biased b/c I remember watching him since I was a kid. The one thing I can't stand is when there's a fight or the game gets chippy he gets up on his soapbox about how "this doesn't belong in the game!" All in all, compared to the other announcers I hear like Chico, Doc, the Isles guys, Olczyk I can't complain too much about what we get to see on a nightly basis. 3/5 is a fair assessment. I don't agree that Joe is carrying Sam though, that's a little ridiculous IMO.

Ryan, if you're reading this, I'm very sorry for your loss.

I've been a big fan of Derek's for a long time, even before he became a NYR. I'm a big fight fan and watching Derek was a treat. The day he became a NYR I was excited to see him on a nightly basis. I only wish we could get to see more of Boogaard next year and for years to come. I'll never forget that Ducks/Wild game where Boogaard was sent out onto the ice with the fans chanting his name, that still gives me chills when I watch it on Youtube. I know for a fact that Derek would've came back bigger and better this coming season. He was a warrior on the ice and by all accounts a great guy off the ice. He'll be missed. I'm not just saying this because it's the right thing to say, Boogaard was one of the most dominant fighters this sport has ever seen - it's just unfortunate that he didn't get to dominate for a lot longer! RIP Boogey Man

He may have been traded for only a pick, but he was selected 75th overall and was just traded for a 72nd pick. Not terrible. I think many including myself think that Grachev was drafted earlier than mid 3rd round. As I wrote on my own blog yeterday, To have a third round pick from three years ago, who hasn't done much in either the NHL (in limited action) or the AHL request a trade and be able to flip him for an improved draft pick is actually not a bad thing at all. 28 goals total in 2 AHL seasons? Not the type of numbers that indicate that a player is busting at the seams ready to make the jump to the NHL to contribute in a top six forward position IMO
