As a member of the staff I would have to say its a toss up. The whole debacle about it being exclusive and everything was frustrating. Ubisoft kept jumping the fence back and forth with their backing of the Wii U and now they are at it again. They are good at the whole smoke and mirrors thing and lip service. The Wii U exclusive challenge app was sort of a major butt kissing attempt on their part to keep Wii U owners still interested.
Aside from all that I think the controls are a little clunky when compared to the official demo but the graphics, gameplay, etc. remain pretty well polished. I have yet to be disinterested in any future Ubisoft projects and plan on picking this one up as well as Wonderful 101. Wonderful 101 is a whole different ballgame and I missed the staff comments bus on that. Anyway, I hope Yves Guillermot (sp.?) CEO of Ubisoft gets off his high horse and stops letting his puppets (other game directors, etc.) give their input as if they are speaking for Ubi as one whole entity.

@KennyJohnson1 Thanks for pointing that out Kenny. When I typed up the post I was in way too much of a hurry.

I hope the big N puts out an Animal Crossing like the one for 3DS fast or a really awesome Legend of Zelda--maybe like a top down classic version which then switches to the free roaming Link of the current gen or something like that.

It's interesting to think about such a great fighting game like Melee as an eSport but I think your reasoning really drives the point home. The only Nintendo related or somewhat Nintendo related "competitive" events are like Steve Wiebe verses Billy Mitchell for the Donkey Kong championships, National Pokemon and worldwide Pokemon competitions, and other record breaking attempts at various Nintendo games going on all over the country and the world. Its encouraging though because across the river from where I live there is a business that strictly caters to mostly the fighting genre. Its called Best Bout gaming and once they open their doors all heck breaks loose. There are tons of televisions hooked up to different consoles and fighting games of all types and every week they have competitions on different nights and give away prizes. In fact, I believe they even have their own team of fighters that have competed across the U.S. in different competitions. They spend long hours practicing and honing their craft by learning different fighting moves of different characters, study the movements of other people's fingers on the controller, watch the screen to look for weak spots on characters or strong ones and then they attack!!
In that aspect it is just like a sport. There's training involved, long hours, tons of practice, winning, losing, and just plain friendly fun. Great article!

Ahhhhhh man!!We are going to miss you Menashe. Thanks for giving me a chance here at NE and watching us all grow. You have done a superb job so far helping out the indies and I know you'll continue to help them shine. :) They really do deserve to be spotlighted and are the future of gaming. Those big publishers better look over their shoulders!! Menashe is coming for you Ubisoft!! LOL! :)

Oops I forgot to say what my game of the show was. I would agree with Andy on "The Division". That game just looks so amazing and there is just so many things you could do with the Game Pad if they would bring the game to the Wii U. Its nice to see someone already started a petition.
1 year, 1 month ago on The Score – What Was Your ‘Game of the Show’ at E3 2013?
Since I didn't get a chance to respond to this before E3 here I go. I was hoping they would have shown a true sequel to Super Mario Sunshine because that game and everything about it needed to be revisited. The enemies, the bosses, the village people, the tropical music, etc. made that game unique and such a breath of fresh air to the series. I kept my fingers crossed that they would reveal Mega Man as a new fighter in Super Smash Bros. and my dream came true!! I was hoping maybe Simon Belmont would have made an appearance but oh well. I was very disappointed in the "3d" Mario reveal. I wasn't sure even how they were going to pull off the 3D component on the Wii U anyway. I thought they meant 3D as in open and wide world gameplay like Super Mario 64. Bayonetta 2 looks pretty cook, the Wonderful 101 should be pretty interesting, and I think Donkey Kong Country needs to be put to rest. I agree with Reggie when he said they are thinking about rehashing some old franchises like they did with Kid Icarus.
This is all awesome news!! I was hoping a Star Wars for the Wii U (even if its not a Battlefront sequel) game wouldn't be passed up. I cannot wait to hear what Gamecube games they might bring to the Wii U virtual console. I just hope they won't work them over like Windwaker and sell them for like $50.00. I hope there's a glimmer of a chance we might see some Smash Bros. activity. :)
