Michael's injury was devastating - both to the team and, certainly to him personally. I have had him in my mind all last year. It's really terrible. And both his brothers had their athletic careers cut short due to concussions. It makes you wonder if there is a genetic component to the seriousness of these injuries. As much as I bleed Ranger Blue, my wish for Michael is a full recovery for his health sake. If somehow he would read this - get well, Michael. Many are wishing you the best.

A buyout of Richards is such an obvious move that one fears they will bring him back another year. I really like the guy but he hasn't played like a first line center, nevermind a superstar, for the Rangers. Taking a chance that he'll get hurt and the cap is screwed up for many years to come is too much to even think about. Also, they need the cap room for their RFA's and strengthening the blueline, signing Henrik and, hopefully, adding some scoring. Lots to do and cap room is badly needed. In addition, there will be some good players bought out that will be relatively reasonable to sign. Good luck, Richie! Maybe he'll sign with Vancouver and play for Torts or go back to Dallas.

Finally! I can't believe he wasn't fired last year. He's been in charge of the non-existant power play since he's been here. I love the line about him being a civil service employee. I still don't see Messier as an ass't. Can't believe Vignault would come with Messier waiting in the wings so fans and journalists can start calling for him as soon as the team loses 3 in a row. Fans need to drop their worshiping and hope for the best chance at success.

I can't imagine Vignault agreeing to have Messier as an assistant. The first time the team loses 3 in a row the fans and journalists will be calling for Messier to take over. Messier is in a "Catch-22." He has no experience and no coach would want him as an assistant. His best chance is to try for a head coaching job with a team that has poor attendance with the hope that someone like Messier can bring attention to the team.

It's time. I have felt that when Tortorella came, he tightened the defense and made the team hard to play against. But it appears his time has passed. This season has been more than frustrating and when the team came out flat at home down 2-0, that sealed it for me. The power play is ridiculously bad and it's not just in the playoffs. It's been that way all year. If Sullivan runs the PP then Tortorella should have made a change in the off season. It's been bad for years. Time to change the coaching staff while this team is still together. Who knows what will happen in another year if this coaching staff remains and a number of players will be free agents.

@Josh6 @BBJ36 Josh, it depends upon the injury. There are some injuries you can play through and others that you can't. There are some that won't keep someone from gutting it out but it affects their performance.

I am convinced something is physically wrong with Nash. He is lumbering and looks slow. Knowing Tortorella's edict to say nothing about injuries, I wouldn't be surprised we will find out he is hurt after the playoffs.
