Ok...May 27, 1994..the day my first child was born. Also the day of Matteau! Matteau! Matteau! My daughter was born at 3pm. My next words to the nurse was "do you get ESPN here?" My wife was freaking out during those overtimes. She said "they have to win. You will remember this day forever!" A couple of weeks later we won the Cup. I promised myself that I would never complain about the Rangers again....lol. I bought into the sign "Now I can die in peace." Messier gave that to us and I have a blind faith that he can do it again if he feels he is ready. Call me nuts! Whatever the case....I won't complain.

I know my heart, and not my head, is talking....but I would be excited to see Messier behind the Ranger bench. Maybe I just have a blind faith in Mess because i am a Ranger fan and he is the only one that has ever come through for us. If he feels he can do it....I believe him. Let's Go Rangers!

I wonder what kind of input our special assistant to Sather had with the firing of Torts

I would like to see Messier....but as an assistant. He can make a huge impact just by his glare. Could he be the head guy??? Maybe...but I agree it is a risk. But then again...didn't he coach the 94 team?
Thanks for the blog Kevin. It keeps me connected here in NC. I just can't stomach the Hurricanes.

The most ironic part of this series is that a Bruin injury won the series. Although I'm a ranger fan, Krug is going to be the next best defensemen. I doubt many Bruin fans even knew about him.
We can talk about free agents and trades all we want but what are we doing with our farm system? The best teams don't neglect this.

We just had a bad period right there. Third period is going to be ours!
PP lets go!
@NYR44 I agree. Wish he was a Ranger
I can live with 1-0 for the first period!
@cb1 I was thinking the same thing earlier today

@ThrSage It took me awhile Sage. I thought you were having a nervous breakdown
@ThrSage Sage...have you been drinking?
@Josh6 crazy good
What an awesome shot!
ok...I beat the family dog and feel better now. Just kidding.
I said the same thing last year...we are just not good enough to win a Stanley Cup. In order for us to win we need a complete performance and overachieving team unity and chemistry. Too much second guessing, lack of confidence, overcompensating by looking for individual brilliance vs. team play, etc. I am afraid that Torts has lost this team. Bench players all you want but you still need to treat them like professionals. His schtick is old and outdated and I believe he has lost the respect of the players
