@Lobo @LasordasLair Uh yeah duh emotional frustrated comment on my part my bad
They are also doing an awful job of taking the extra base...how does a ball to the gap not score a guy from 2nd...plus wouldn't Dee be an upgrade over Sellers??? BTW Mike this is KS not you know who I'll be in NY for the Dodgers Yankees series!
Great work Howard my father in law is a heart transplant recipient going on 20 years so we totally support what you are promoting! Cheers Kenny
I dont know about you guys, but that It's good to be the king graphic reminds me of the dosequis guy in those dosequis commercials. "Stay thirsty my friends!"
Nick Punto playing in a critical game. Another lousy move from the worst manager in Baseball, Don Mattingly.
Where is the accountability? The team tanks in the second half, loses the division to our arch rivals, and now wont even make the playoffs? Yet were supposed to feel all warm and fuzzy about things for next year? They could suck again next year. The team needs a new direction. It starts with a new Manager and general manager. Then we can go from there.
I just gave you a whle bunch of reasons. He has no strteagy at all. He constantly bunts. He has no passion or fire. He is passive, and timid during games. He has failed to lead the team to the playoffs. His ptiching staff management is awful. those are plenty of reasons
@Mike Petriello @DBrimIM not letting Ned off the hook either, he needs to go too. But to say that Mattingly had no involvement at all? Why is he being given a golden pass for the losery? Because hes nice? Being nice doesnt win games, nor get teams to the playoffs. Look at Bochy, the guy is a dickhead, but knows how to manage a team into the playoffs. If the manager truly is useless, and has no say in anything as you guys put it, then whats the point of the position?
The eveidence is in the results mike! He is a loser. The Dodgers are sinking fast. Theyve already lost the division, and likely wont make the playoffs. Face it, he is a trainwreck. The results speak for themselves.
No the team just needs a new manager. Mattingly is too passive to be a manager, and team leader. He is very timid during games. He looks clueless. Then tells peope he has no clue what to do. We need a manager with experience.
@Mike Petriello @DBrimForget about the lineyup right now. That idea has been tossed around because alot of people are beginning to see the light about Mattingly. He is a failure as a manager. You know it, and I know it. everyone knows it. I wouldnt be surprised if he gets canned for this catastrophe of a season. The only time he shows any passion is when he is arguing with the umpires. He is a terrible manager. Time for a new direction. Alot of people agree on this.
@BawfulsDont be clueless like Mattingly. A managers job is more than just managing personalities, and egos, and being friends with the players in the clubhouse. It is much more than that. And if you think its just that, then whats the point of having a a manger? A team's success and failure falls to the manager and general manager. Its their job to make sure the team is winning. If they are not, then its time to move into a new direction.
I know you like Mattingly although I cant' understand why. I just wrote an article about all of his bonehead moves. Batting Nick Punto lead-off. Letting Juan Rivera bat with the game on the line in the bottom of the ninth inning. Burying AJ Ellis and Cruz at the bottom of the order all season long. Generally managing with a lack of passion and fire. Being cluseless of how to turn the team around. Using Matt Guerrier in a MLB game with a lead. etc. etc ...etc.. need I go on here? Face it Mike, Mattingly is a failure. He has failed as a manager. It woul dbe good for the team to move into a new direction.
Because he is doing such a great job right? The team is knocking the cover off the ball, and scoring so many runs!
It all starts and ends with a good manager. I never said Francona, but I wouldnt mind to give him a shot. He has a ton of experience. If Mattingly doesn't know what to do, then we have a deep seeded issue within the organization. Mattingly is worse then not very good. He is an utter trainwreck. He's a disaster, just like this team is. I think a new direction is needed. Getting in an experienced manager should be top priority. Finishing the season like this is unnacepatble, and a big slap in the face to the fan base. we need a real manager, not someone who is more concerned with being the players friends in the clubhouse.
they need to fire Mattingly and Hansen as soon as the season ends. Mattingly is a trainwreck of a manager. He has no experience, and no clue how to lead a team. And under Dave Hansen, the Dodgers are the worst hitting team in the league. It's time to clean house with those guys. The organization is not moving in a good direction. Utterly tanking down the stretch, and then having your manager clueless on how to fix it? That spells trouble for the team.
Ken Rosenthal just said Gel!!! ha ha ha
@Howard Cole @LasordasLair Those 8 words are the basis for the argument of your article. I happen to think the Dodgers came out on the better end of this deal you feel Boston did. My opinion is just that an opinion it is in no way an attack on your article, I agree with most of what you say except those "8 words" Gonzo's 1st inning homer certainly helps! It's all good brother today is a day to celebrate being a Dodgers fan.
@LasordasLair BTW Gonzo is 30 yrs old, Beckett is 32, Crawford 31, Hanley 28, Kemp 27, Ethier 30, Victorino 31, Bills 28, Cy Young 24. That's a nice core, all who have been all-stars and who are all under contract thru 2014
