@_Jack @fs2020 Looks like Staal and the D boys have usual work to do on Ovi. Pesky Chimera hopefully used up his luck.

Caps are a physical team and we'll have to out skate them, which we can do.We keep on working on our PK and PP and it's good.

@BobDunne Think Oscar Lindberg has the skills, offence and defence, size, and IQ and  potential to be a good recall for the playoffs.

Chris Borque- a small player, skilled.but not at Zucc level for a small guy.

The others you mentioned, most would be ok , but are not as remarkable.

Hope they go with Lindberg, just cause I think he'll be the best NHL guy.

@G You must mean 1 NHL game. b/c AHL  is definitely pro hockey .I think the best thing for the top six if they don't recall Lindberg is to move Hags up to the top six.I am not confident in Marty returning to the top six.Rather see Miller than St.Lous

Jst got the news about Zucc.

Dang.Well we are going to need somebody now

Wouldn't expect to see Zucc after that shot he took but nothing yet as far as what if any his injury is -so  keep fingers crossed that its not serious at all.

If we needed a forward up from Hartford is it free Oscar Lindberg time and move everyone up? We need skill to replace skill and Oscar is our skill guy in Hartford.

JT Miller has played really well.I have always liked his passing ability and seeing the open man.Feel confident when he has the puck he'll always get it to someone.Good passer for sure. Krieds is another one that gives me that confidence-Both these guys have turned into possession machines.Smart passers.

The Fast Moore Hagelin line can't really go wrong. Two maniac hustlers and one always correct defence responsible player. All three of them highly skilled with the puck. They are going to handle or dominate almost any line put against them.

Now we just have to get our shooters going and we are in good shape.

@JoeyKocur Yeah its too bad. Some of the stuff tho he can correct-the blind passes for example. He has to be better now that's for sure.He can help himself and the team by scoring goals, hopefully he  hasn't lost that ability-he still has good hands and a good shot.Marty has got to be better or he gets demoted and replaced by somebody who can keep up with the play.We even have good players in Hartford that can be brought up if we absolutely have to.

Nice goal by one of the Ranger's best players.Congrats to the Blueshirts on a hard fought series win.Now to rest up and recover.

Hags had the right idea and just shoot.Next year Rangers must find the money to sign Hagelin,he's a core player on the team.

MSL can walk if he continues to turn the puck over or is irrelevant. MSL has to improve and start scoring goals.

Boyle played well, Yandle could have played better.Rest of the D including Hunny were playing the way they should, doing the stuff they had to do.Good game by them. Henrik was rather spectacular.

Brassard is a force.Awesome. Jesper Fast played his correct responsible game-can see why AV put him on the top line over MSL.Dominic Moore deserves a mention also, great game from him.

Good win.LGR!

Gotta improve on the special teams. That said on the powerplay, AV and Arniel are not Torts and Sullivan, so they should be able to change things up and for the better hopefully, some Rangers simply aren't looking to shoot, they're looking to pass and thats not McDonagh or Yandle. Stepan MSL Kreder have to shoot more.

The PK should be ok.Hags and Fast are good. Nash is one of the best in the league and with Stepan is one of the most skilled tandems.I;m hopeful they can turn this around.Next game they better.

@BobDunne @LFredrikJonsson Everything worked out great for the Rangers as we got AV, who is a good coach. One of Torts legacies is the Rangers who shot block instinctively as we still have a lot of Rangers who were on those teams and still do that, Thats one positive.

Rangers appeared disciplined no matter what, while Penguins not so much, actually panicky in the first. That is a really good sign.Even though Pens sort of pushed back, the Rangers stuck to their game and pulled off a win.Rangers team 'll likely continue this and that means more wins for the blueshirts.

A lot of players found their game this year and I'm glad to see it. Nash, Brassard, Miller, Krieder were the four most noticeable.

K Hayes is still getting better -he has even more upside it is apparent.

Zuccarello is super skilled capable and so is Hagelin-Zucc with playmaking and hands. Hagelin with speed and puck handling skills and PK.

Stepan is elite skill level good hands unbeatable vision and lightning reactions.

Those are our core players , we keep and sign ALL of them. That's the contender Ranger team.

The others:

Jesper Fast is worth two players defensively he breaks up the outlets and keeps the puck in the offensive zone on top of blocking shots and checking well.Marty st Louis has his deadly shots and offensive ability.Dominic Moore is the essential fourth liner all round great.Sheppard can be a good player in the playoffs-big body and skills -could turn out well.Glass- well ..

This is an awesome balanced offense , plus we have Oscar Lindberg in Hartford who can play NHL level..

@Barry Beck Wonder why Hags is always included in these trade scenarios. He seems to be a fairly consistent impact player for the Rangers who is not really replaceable, no one easily obtainable has his speed, work ethic or defense. Hagelin is not a player that you just up and get a replacement for instantly, yet his name always comes up as if there is some sort of issue having him on the Rangers.Myself I don't get it. Even with cap issues I'd try every scenario before I got rid of Hags-hes one of the important reasons for the success of this team.

If the Rangers show up to play and everyone is on their game, not too worried.Rangers score using offence skills, then shut down the other team using defence skills and good goal-tending. We win. Repeat times four.

Sounds simple, but that's what the Rangers do to other teams consistently.

Must have been awesome to be at that game.Crowd looked like they were having really great time.Bloggers here who can see the games live are so lucky! I liked the game even though some of the Rangers commented they were off.

Stepan is starting to look like the real Derek Stepan. That line is good.Miller's passing is right on as is usual for him.Same with Krieder. And Step is Step.

Nice to see Cam Talbot get some official love from the fans.He played superbly and deserves it.

I enjoy watching Hagelin take the puck away from any opponents -consistently- and then it always gets to Hayes who makes a good play-also consistently. The adddition of Marty there with those two is brilliant as evidenced by that quick goal.Once Marty gets chemistry going with those two-watch out.

Gonna be interesting going forward. This is the best Rangers team in many years. They have AV style down, fast counter attack quick transition, shut the door when in the lead, all of it with its strategies and style's AV is the best coach they have had. They still have the same faults - though much less.-telegraphing shots on the powerplay, not bringing it the occasional game.

But when they bring it they are the most awesome Ranger team we have had.since the cup.Blocking shots from Torts years, tic tac toe plays from AV, outstanding netminding with the King and Cam.Blazing speed from Haggy and Krieds-no team is their equal,Plus lots of 20 -50 point players skilled enough to be threats always-scoring by committee.

All that said, its stlll cross your fingers, coz anything can happen in the SC playoffs.

If they bring it-they can do it. LGR!

Marty gives some more finishing ability to that line.Maybe he can give Hags a few finishing tips.

@Bleed_the_freak Well at least Fast does the work of two NHL players defensively. The opposition doesn't score against him, but yeah its too bad Sheppard isn't allowed to fill the Glass role, then Jesper could have a decent chance to bolster his offence.

Kieth Yandle. is a -29 plus minus career regular season games.None of the other Ranger defencemen are even close to that. I usually think plus minus means nothing, but after yesterdays game I have misgivings with him right now going into the playoffs. He better get on board quickly.Even tho AV has a pinching D system,We need defence to shut down stuff first then offence not the other way around.People got on Miller for turning over the puck, but a dman turning it over is a lot worse.
