Rangers showed up to play tonight.Nashville couldn't do anything.Good game all around.

OK.Wow. Zucc! so we have that done, thank goodness! Yandle-we need that D offence and defence. That solves a weakness and replaces Stralman. Sheppard- people are saying Brian Boyle -that fits our success template! .and we might demote Glass. So we have Sheppard Moore Fast.
Now all that has to happen is for some good chemistry from the new players and we are set.

"He skates well, has great vision and has the ability to anticipate the play very well."Vladimir Luchenko Ranger scout on Pavel Buchnevich......Sounds like he's describing Zucc's skills. If they sign him to an entry level he could be on the Rangers after an adjustment time in the AHL. This could be another great Ranger on the way.

This year, if any of them are not traded: Buchnevich, Lindberg, even Duclair at a late point can be brought in for the SC playoffs. O Lindberg can do the job-proven .A. Duclair-also proven-but he has been cold and hot on Remparts-not impressive but can play. P. Buchenvich-unknown-could be great ,but unknown. So Rangers have some depth at forward if Zucc is traded.
At least one or two of the above mentioned prospects would play respectably.
Without costing Rangers anything.
Trade talk on everyone's mind.Let down game.Hope Zucc isn't traded and Rangers get back to normal.

Zuccarello is not Callahan.I would say he is more integral to this team with his play-making and the way he fits with Brassard. So any trade of him has to get a huge huge return .ie: Top roster player and 1st round draft pick from a non playoff team.Zucc would be the best player available in the market.
Hayes would have to meet a big challenge being moved up, Buchnevich would have to be ready to play good NHL 3rd line and Oscar LIndberg would be recalled.
This trade would impact the Rangers chances at a Stanley cup. There would have to be a colossal return for Zucc to make it work,

@JoeyKocur I'd be dumbstruck if they traded Hagelin. Not gonna happen.
4 days, 7 hours ago on Conversation @ http://nyrangersblog.com/
@JoeyKocur Believe the pro- Fasts. He is an NHL level player.Smart and good defensively. When he figures out his offensive side -no doubt he'll convince everyone.
5 days ago on Conversation @ http://nyrangersblog.com/
Stempniak played a good game.I guess with Jesper Fast returning he turned on the afterburners.Good show from him. The defence played well and the team did what they had to with backup goalie Talbot in net-score more goals.
Krieder with a pair of nice goals. Brassard with a wizard's passing-really happy he's found his game with the Rangers.
When Fast gets back and gets going, this team could be powerful defensively. And when Lundqvist returns the team D could be awesome.add that plus the recent offence surge -could be looking good for the Blueshirts in the stretch.
5 days, 1 hour ago on Conversation @ http://nyrangersblog.com/
The team last night, without Nash and with Fast and Lundqvist back in would win a lot. It would be boring, but they would be in the W column most nights.Really really good game defensively .
Oscar Lindberg made something of his opportunity-a solid noticeable mistake free good game from him.
Talbot made some crucial saves. It was not so exciting but it was a well played game by the Rangers.
They do miss Nash and his skills obviously.Makes a big difference when he's not playing.

@Gianni74 @fs2020 Makes sense.I don't know a lot about Hejda other than he's an old vet with some playoff experience. Haven't heard anything good about Bellemore.I agree we don't need to waste a pick on bad players.
That said, we need a depth Dman.-Connor Allen from Hartford isn't the answer.
So it's someone from outside and you don't get something for nothing.

Rangers weigh their options as trade deadline approaches via @Newsday http://nwsdy.li/1wbhQUm
Maybe they could get Dman Jan Hejda for a 2nd and recall Oscar Lindberg for depth.Might work out if Lindberg is good on faceoffs and Hejda has something left in the tank. .
@betweentheworlds quick accurate passing is a quality of this Rangers team when they are playing their game.3 passes in less than a second.Marty was a catalyst with his brilliant pass to Stepan.
1 week, 4 days ago on Conversation @ http://nyrangersblog.com/
Talbot is not standing on his head, which is what he has to do once in awhile, even if he's a backup goalie. It's time to see Skapski.
Boyle and Girardi are not good enough.Hunwick and J.Moore are what they are.Tho Moore has shown stuff lately.
McDonagh has to play a lot better.Staal and Klein have been up and down.
Overall ,Rangers need another outstanding defenceman.Get er done Slats!
1 week, 5 days ago on Conversation @ http://nyrangersblog.com/
@Zelrio Girardi? He played his usual game. He's fairly consistent at being mediocre.
First home game after a road trip and playing with their back goalie.Rangers should guard against complacency. If they play their game with intensity they should be alright.
Hope for a big game from some players who haven't been notable offensively lately namely: Hagelin, JT Miller , Stempniak and even John Moore- are all due for goals right about now.Oh yeah MSL hopefully pots a another one again.
Gotta lock up Zucc and let Marty go if it comes to that. Zuccarello is starting to make himself a signing priority, playing so well right now.
2 weeks ago on Conversation @ http://nyrangersblog.com/2015-articles/report-no-trade-coming-for-zuccarello.html
Good to see Rangers were dominant in the third. The Islanders were tired or dispirited or both.Good win with a backup goaltender in net.Rangers did what they had to do, once more.Really pleased at Kried's play and also Hayes. What a snipe by Klein-good to have that -the D had half the Ranger goals.
2 weeks, 1 day ago on Conversation @ http://nyrangersblog.com/
i would like Mcillrath recalled if he played purely on skill and kept penalties to minimum. If he can do better than Hunwick or Moore on D.Then OK.It would be only if someone challenged him that he fought or if someone tried a Drury on a Rangers player. That would be acceptable.
5 on 5 Rangers need to take the man a bit more.Finish some checks.Rangers powerplay is getting some looks.Have to capitalize.Agree there are too many passengers.
Firing Torts and hiring AV is one of Sather's best moves, although the players can take credit for Tort's being canned.Rangers are set up well for years now.Good luck to Torts, he helped develop some of Ranger's core players
2 weeks, 2 days ago on Conversation @ http://nyrangersblog.com/
@betweentheworlds AV uses that trap tactic. Its deliberate. Its one of his many strategies.Sometimes it doesn't work.... sometimes it does .the team has to all have its act together to make it work.
All in all,
AV has his ways just like Renney or Torts or anyone. He's a good all around coach with a bag of tricks sometimes they work sometimes not.

Hayes -wow. Krieder-invisible. MSL -occupying a space and directly cost a goal last night.
How far can Glass plus minus go negatively Talbot-pretty good game. Nash-wow.
2 weeks, 5 days ago on Conversation @ http://nyrangersblog.com/
@JoeyKocur Jesper Fast`s return helps solve this -Clearing skillls were badly needed-surprised at Stepans failure to clear .Also the altitude may have slowed the team a bit.
@JoeyKocur MSL has to be re-evaluated now because we have two genuine NHL roster players with 100 percent contribution all the time whom we should try to keep if we can. MSL re-signing could cost us one of them.So Marty has to produce in the stretch and playoffs or it`s a no brainer we let him walk if he doesn't improve his game.
Zucc is good solid NHL roster player of top six status.Rangers have to try to keep him,as he has a future and can help the team going forward. If it comes down to choosing two of MSL Zuccarello or Hagelin- unless MSL absolutely dominates in the playoffs and wins us the Cup or puts on a lot stronger show than he has shown this year...
Then Zucc and Hags gotta be the Ranger's future.Gotta go with the youth going forward.
Zucc has a good shot as Brassard said.He has to use it more. He'll score more goals.
2 weeks, 6 days ago on Conversation @ http://nyrangersblog.com/
Rangers did what they had to with Talbot in-score more goals.Glad to see Zucc using his good shot.Nash is the best Ranger skill and talent wise-in on 3 goals directly. As far as this Rangers team: Take a look at the plus minus stats and you can see the best Rangers this year(except for Brass he's playing great and is only +8)Plus minus is usually meaningless but it reflects the play this year -Tanner Glass, for instance.

Get 2 points here and move on to the next.LGR!
Ok Jesper Fast is out and we have a back up goalie in net.Suddenly, there is less defence against goals.Solution: call up a player from Hartford who can either provide some more defence.and or score some goals/assists.Seems to me its a good time for recall to cover the weakness we now have.
Also a Hartford recall will give us more experienced depth going forward.
Oscar time? He's good defensively. I see that Chris Bourque is Wolfpack's leading scorer with 14.4 shooting percentage.
Stempniak or Glass might be outshone by one of these Hartford players in a call up
Also If MSL doesn't bring it for the stretch and playoffs-he's the odd one out between him and Hags or Zuccarello. That's the Hagelin-Zuccarello dilemma solved right there.
3 weeks, 2 days ago on Conversation @ http://nyrangersblog.com/
@J_CKfor30 Lindberg or Bourque should get a chance.Kristo is not there on d.
Lindberg should be called up.We need some goals as well as good d play.
Salvaged a point .Have to score more goals when you have a backup goaltender.Talbot is likely going to pitch a couple of shutouts now, but it's going to be tough until Henrik gets back.
Wish a speedy recovery to Hank.. SO now Rangers have to make the playoffs with Lundqvist back for the late stretch and playoffs.Could be worse, although it'll be challenging-Cam Talbot is a back-up and what you see is what you get. Darn good back-up but still a back up.I wonder if we'll see MacKenzie Skapsi in net at all?
Gonna have to ramp up offence and score more goals per game, which is on the players. We need those extra goals now. Also have to have the two way play and possession time increase. Also on the players.
3 weeks, 4 days ago on Conversation @ http://nyrangersblog.com/2015-articles/ny-post-lundqvist-out-for-at-least-a-month.html
Sounds to me from the article like he's been lazy, self centered and drifting around away from the puck.He got called out for it by the coach. And now he seems to have heard what the coach said and going to try to prove himself on the ice. He's a kid, he has trouble with perspective and who wouldn't after being in such hockey heights so quickly. He's gotta remember he hasn't made camp yet and Rangers are keeping track of everything he does.He is still expected to produce well and develop.
3 weeks, 4 days ago on Conversation @ http://nyrangersblog.com/
@GregQuinn That line is good.
Both Hagelin and Krieder are fast.Hags is both fast AND agile.Haggy is the Flash, unbeatable.Krieder is a Bugatti Veyron a few strides and he's passing the Corvettes and Porches.Rangers have the fastest two skaters IMO. It defines this team along with other great qualities.
3 weeks, 5 days ago on Conversation @ http://nyrangersblog.com/
Wow.Talbot is capable but it`s tough- as Brooksie says we lost our safety net.
Skapper is maybe going to get his feet wet.Should be interesting,he is a young prospect who is going to want to show his stuff.
Don`t know if one month is enough for an emergency trade.Hope Hank heals up quickly with no complications.
@betweentheworlds @fs2020 They know Zucc is going to pass.MSL they know might likely shoot-that`s the difference right there. It frees up Nash.
@4tonynoluck One point is -I bet he would be consistent if they give him a chance and once he gains confidence could turn out to be reliable-could be a fantastic decision for the Rangers and really help the bottom six.Maybe if they checked him out now it would help the situation,i agree.
Krieds line with Brass and Zucc looks really good. Krieds has really raised his game and I hope he keeps this going from now on.His speed is fantastic a true power forward.
The bottom two lines: well,Hags is basically never a problem.Hayes is just an improving rookie and Fast is becoming a force two ways-awesome and perfect except for the goal scoring
.Moore is consistent -so that leaves Glass and Stemp as the only mundane players on the roster.
Maybe if there is a trade at the deadline it'll solve the missing pieces.
@betweentheworlds Agree that Nash, who is the most skilled Ranger all around, is good with MSL.MSL can make some nice set up passes for sure and also draws players away from Nasher.
@IhateGaborik @fs2020 Girardi taking out Marchand was nice and 36 to 24 hits for the Rangers, but I have to say perhaps it is a bit of an exaggeration. Maybe I'll revise it and say a good checking team that finishes its checks.
3 weeks, 6 days ago on Conversation @ http://nyrangersblog.com/
Rangers are fast, dilligent, skilled hard hitting team.Plus they are well coached.Gotta love this team.
Talbot is a good positional backup goalie.Rangers have to hustle and pot some extra goals to cover him and we'll be fine.Hope for a speedy recovery for Hank. Think Skapsi is going to be trying to make a name for himself so that should be interesting.Motivated prospect who has been playing well on the Pack lately.Good luck to him.LGR!
@rangermom @fs2020 @Say my Name @Barry Beck The thing about JT is he is skilled, he can find players, see the ice well, and make excellent NHL passes.Thats what we expect. On the other hand, he apparently doesn't learn and makes repeated mistakes over again. That's not going to bode well if they are wanting him to develop more.He has to have the ability and intention to learn and progress, whether he's 21 or not.
1 month ago on Conversation @ http://nyrangersblog.com/
@Say my Name @Barry Beck Hayes is really showing good ability and skills and steadily keeps on getting better. He has been a good rookie for sure.He hasn't hit the wall Jt has and one thing with JT is he keeps on passing in front of the net-nobody does that. It's dumb.Maybe the reason he is always in AV's doghouse is that he doesn't learn from his mistakes. He's there for a reason, AV isn't stupid. If just for the fact JT has been marginalized this year, it says he is a candidate for a trade.
@rangermom @GiveGartneraCup J.Moore is a heck of a good skater and is capable of some grit. That said, he hasn't progressed as well as was hoped for and hasn't made the jump to the next level that is needed by the team.So...its a question of do the Rangers trade him and get someone immediately impacting and adding to this team-no questions or "potential" involved. In addition, they already have several major d-prospects they are waiting to develop to NHL level.
I can see JT Miller and John Moore being traded at the deadline. As of today It would be surprising to see them trade Hagelin or Zuccarello I think both Hags and Zucc are part of the plan for a run at the SC.That could change with a terrible long stretch by either of them maybe, but that really ain't gonna happen b/c They're both quite honestly, fairly good NHL players. Also very important facts: Haggy was very good in the SC playoffs last year, and Zucc is a good game winner in the reg season shoot out. There's no negatives there. It is risky to trade them and hope things work out better.
@TruBluEsp If Lindberg could play OK and win most faceoffs that would be enough skill added to boost this possession team to invincible status.
Also however another Plan B strategy is needed from AV when the teams are skilled enough to shut down the Ranger's skill and speed, as the Islanders did
Whatever happens, we don't need another small player or a player who doesn't hit if we add anyone, I think that;s obvious.I think the game of MSL and Zucc are clear to see and also how they are pushed around. They have to be moved down a bit when playing big teams I agree.Hayes and Fast have to shoot more, they are both alright for possession but need to get goals and need to shoot instead of pass all the time. That's another obvious problem-they would add some needed offence just by doing that. Krieder has to move into full beast mode now and start putting them in the net by hook or crook. Hagelin also. Both have to continue scoring goals now. They are playing better lately.
Faceoffs. Is Lindberg any good at pro level faceoffs?-If they are going to use him eventually they should bring him up next opportunity to get him into the NHL's speed and checking. If he can win faceoffs its a big deal.
They played well in the last period of that Islanders game.An added skill player and it would have been a much closer game.bad bounce and that was the way it went. The stupid penalties are not worth commenting on-Glass a careless victim of a dive and Nash getting pissed off.
We can beat the Islanders, it would be a close series but with tweaks its obvious to me from that last period we can outplay them consistently. Lundqvist will be the determiner
Just saw last period.Rangers deserved better. If Glass has to take a penalty he should have taken it for punching out Hamonic , Martin or another Islander.Rangers need a faceoff specialist. On that last period, one extra Rangers player with skill could have made a game difference.Liked the Hags Fast combo.
