Both goalies started kinda slow but have rounded into form. They've been spectacular at times and have definitely let in a few questionable goals. The key to success as we go down the stretch is staying healthy. That's all we can truly ask for as fans.

Also before Talbot is traded out of town i'd absolutely love it if he could give hank a clinic on handling the puck. Hank is already a world class player but adding that to his repertoire would be huge going forward.

I like the core overall but i dont like watching the top pairing scrambling because theyre out of position which has been a somewhat common occurrence this season. Just my personal opinion. We don't all need to see eye to eye here.

I know this is beating a dead horse but man that Girardi contract is awful. Him and Mcdonagh haven't been the dominant 1-2 punch we've expected. Obviously getting 2pts is all that matters at the end of the day, but I'm expecting a 180 from g and mac as we go down the stretch and into the playoffs.

We were all laughing about it saying how the reverse psychology must've worked. Either way, it was the last thing i was expecting.

Quick story from the game... So i took my dad to the game last night as part of his Christmas gift. Naturally we had a few before walking into MSG and basically ripped on Hagelin all night. With that said, after he scored the gwg this couple in front of us turn around and tell us theyre Hagelins parents! Talk about foot in mouth haha hopefully the goal will finally get him going after the break. LGR!

Moving Miller makes no sense. We're already up against the cap so moving someone on a low end contract does nothing for us going forward.

Staal has been rock solid, especially in the post season. I expect him to take his game to another level once the deal is official.

G's contract is still a glaring mistake but unfortunately you can't go back in time.

Stepan should be the next one in line to get a new contract. Zucc, Marty and Hagelin are all moveable for the right pieces as the trade deadline approaches.

A trade or two prior to the deadline is inevitable with Sather in charge. Kinda hoping it happens sooner than later. 13 out 16 wins is still awesome but the group has to start taking it to the next level and prepare/gel for a post season run.

I would have taken 2 out of 3 wins on this road trip.  But 3 for 3?! Thats some impressive stuff right there from the boys in blue. Like others have said, I expect this team to win every night. Despite being only 39 games into the season, I do not see them slowing down anytime soon.  The cherry on top of all this is if we traded/waived Glass. Man its fun being a NYR fan right now!

Yea i should've let the blog know. It would've been cool to grab a beer or two. Some idiot in my section was chanting 1994... My guess is he jumped on the kings bandwagon in the spring of 2012

I was at the game too man. Flew out to the left coast with my buddy for ducks and kings game. Fuckin kings "fans" are a joke who know absolutely nothing about hockey. While last night wasn't the scf, it was bitter sweet beating them in their building.

i haven't posted here since the 8 game winning streak began because honestly I thought I'd jinx it.  But now that the streak is over I'll share my two cents.  First, kudos to the boys to string together 8 wins in a row.  That's quite a feat in any league, let alone the NHL.

Now regarding last nights performance.  I have to put the onus on AV.  His decision making as far as putting out the best lineup possible is questionable at best.  There is no way Miller deserved to be scratched against NJD for Stempniak and no way Fast should've been scratched last night vs DAL.  ktc990's comment below about how deep our lineup would be with Duclair back sums it up perfectly.  Glass is barely a beer league player let alone an NHL player.  Hearing that Dallas had some interest in him over the summer is interesting to say the least.  I'd take a bag of pucks for that waste of a roster spot at this point.

Back to the positive notes.  The streak was bound to end at some point so with that said, time to start a new streak in south florida tomorrow night.  LGR.

In the least shocking news of the day.  AV has not changed the PP units at all.  You'd think the other night would've been the obvious wake up call to put Klein in G's place.  But nope, guess he really thought the locker room was joking post game.

@J_CKfor30 @Say my Name If Staal isn't willing to take a more cap friendly deal then he is as good as gone.  For as good as he's been in the past he's been equally as bad this season alone.  Hopefully Sather can somehow swing a MDZ for Klein-esque deal this year.

If zucc is potentially trade bait Sather has to pitch the chemistry he had with pouliot to edm. The return could be huge.

THIS! You DO NOT pay for past production in the cap era. Sather has set an awful precedent which is exactly why nobody takes hometown discounts (minus zucc) to stay here. He needs to get his head out of his ass and hand the reigns over to Gorton

Although very winnable, this game had letdown written all over it. 5 days off (which could've been a good/bad thing) + 5 straight wins vs det + 2 straight shutouts for Talbot (vs not only Philly, but Detroit too) was a recipe for disaster.

As Neill mentioned, this game was extremely frustrating to watch. This mediocrity isn't going to fly for much longer.

Its truly amazing how much of a 180 this team has done from last year.  Yes its only Dec but how could this inconsistency continue for this long? The players only meetings and AV calling out the star players obviously is ineffective.  Ultimately at this point in time what this team truly needs is a shake up via trade.

Tonight's game is one of, if not the most disappointing game of the season.  All this talk of the players licking their chops to get out there after 5 days rest and this is the result?!  Spare me the hot air...
