@IhaveawaiteratMSG @ATCRyan Granted its still early but our 4th line needs to improve dramatically to compare to last year.  Being able to roll all 4 lines that were effective was key to the teams success last season.  I guess its unfair to make comparisons/criticisms this early on.  In AV we trust.

I'm still not understanding how Glass has a spot in the lineup.

2 HUGE comeback wins this early in the season is pretty remarkable.  This team certainly knows how to respond to adversity. LGR!!

@GRYFAN These college FA signings are diamonds in the rough.  Hayes (1st rd pick) and Haggerty could arguably be in the top 5 as far as our prospects go.

Our 1st line tomorrow night is HUGE.  With that said, I'd actually prefer if the top 2 lines were:

Nash Hayes MSL

Kreider Brass Zucc

I wouldn't mind Hagelin sitting out for a game either with Duclair taking his spot (in the top 9).  The Duclair benching is puzzling, especially when the kid has done nothing wrong to date.

@wherewasi Duclair still looks more NHL ready than Miller.  I could see Duke scratched for a few games over the course of the season but I think he's here to stay.

Sub par effort against a subpar team tonight. Going to thr game i was unimpressed overall but hank came up big when it counted and nash showed why the rangers were interested in him in the first place. As AV said, a win is a win. Time for the team to gel and play NY rangers hockey for a full 60 min.

@IcyCup Last 3 seasons Lundqvist started 1-3 with a significant GAA and from what I recall things turned out just fine.  Just gotta weather the storm and correct minor mistakes.

@Hotfreak @ATCRyan I anticipate Boyle coming back in better shape considering he can still skate and keep his conditioning up while he's on IR.  I could be completely off with my suggestion, just saying anything is possible.  AV doesn't seem particularly thrilled with the defensive corps as it stands.

Girardi has regressed to a #3/4 dman while Boyle can still hold his own as a top 2 dman that's all im saying

@Barry Beck Glass hasn't stood out in particular thus far; however, if he becomes ineffective I'd like to see Chris Bourque called up from Hartford.  Based on his training camp alone the kid was very noticeable and a grinder.  Think he would be very effective on the 4th line alongside Moore and Malone.

@kevin11 They were pretty effective years ago... I think Girardi brings McDonagh down, and Boyle has more upside imo

Any chance that AV puts Boyle on the top line with McDonagh and demotes Girardi to the 2nd defensive pairing when Boyle returns?  Girardi and Staal did play together for a number of years...

This isn't the NFL.  1 month of sub par play doesn't decide a teams fate for the season.  78 more games left to right the ship.  LGR

@J_CKfor30 @ATCRyan @Wallace1 If we cant beat a Carolina team without both Staal's and Skinner that would be extremely disappointing.  The room has to be angry after the past 2 subpar performances, so they should be ready to go by Thursday.

@J_CKfor30 @ATCRyan @Wallace1 I have no doubt that the tides will turn once Boyle and Stepan are back in the lineup.  Until then just gotta hope the leadership in the room can motivate the team to compete and hopefully get as many wins as possible.

@J_CKfor30 @Wallace1 $5M for a 3rd line center isn't preferred but realistically that's what Brassard is.  Stepan and Brass have to play a line up due to our lack of depth down the middle.

Bringing in a player like Derek Morris or Tomas Kaberle is a band aid solution for the situation at hand; however, if either player is willing to take a reasonable pay cut to play on the 2nd/3rd pairing it would be extremely helpful.  Hunwick was fine last night, Kostka was awful tonight.  Prospects like McIlrath and Allen are available but a proven veteran dman (even one past their prime) would be a better option imho.

Few minor tweaks and we'll be back in business. One positive to take out of these 2 games is our guys are standing up for themselves and for eachother. That can go a long way over the course of an 82 game season.
