If you want to increase goal scoring, all you gotta say to the goalies is "Cup or helmet...your choice"
@thedude27 just saw this. wonder where they will move the building to. also, why the hell did the city allow the $968 million renovation only to evict them 4 years later?

Even though he is now a Devil, I would love to see Jagr score 19 goals this year. He is sitting at 681, and could be only the 7th person in NHL history to score 700 goals. Selanne not too far off at 675 career goals

Any idea when these three might return to the lineup? I read that Ference was seen walking in a boot and on crutches, but what might the timetable on the return be? Key to the series could be to keep it short and not let these guys return

@gravey94 @fs2020 Agreed with Gravey94. Don't fire a coach for winning. Everything that you said here is completely wrong. Players win games by playing within themselves in a system that suits their abilities. Maybe with an extended training camp we might have seen a different system, but with the rushed season, and lacking the middle depth for a large portion of the season implementing a new system is not the best choice

@queensbee Also, for everybody ragging on the power play, know that the power play is not the head coach's job. That comes down to Mike Sullivan, who may be a master at matching lines, but needs a little extra help on the PP. Almost every team in the league has 2 assistant coaches. The Rangers desire not to bring in a second power-play specialist is not to the fault of Torts.
Lets also not forget that Torts is currently in 8th place among active coaches in the win category, and he did this with some very weak teams over the years. He only trails:
Barry Trotz Nashville -1997- (519 wins)
Mike Babcock Detroit - 2005- (376 wins)
Alain Vigneault Vancouver - 2006- (313 wins)
Claude Julien Bruins 2007- (256 wins)
Joel Quennville Chicago 2008- (222 wins)
Todd Mcclellan Sharks 2008 - (220 wins)
Dan Bylsma Penguins 2009 - (201 wins)
John Tortorella Rangers 2009 - (171 wins)
With the exception of Bylsma who inherited one of the best teams in the league, all of these coaches have been with their current teams for at least a year longer than Torts has been behind the rangers bench, and yet is is close to a number of these guys. Also do not forget that Torts is already 4th all time in NYR wins behind only Frank Boucher, Lester Patrick and Emile Francis, all of whom coached more than double the total that Torts is currently at
