@rick I don't know Rick but I think the Nomar and Matt Murton deal for Orlando Cabrera and Doug Mientkiewicz in 2004 worked out pretty well.  I also think the trade that sent Lowe and Varitek to the Sox for Heathcliff Slocumb ended being pretty decent as well.

@VJ in Stuttgart Who said I wasn't supporting the Sox? I simply stated the obvious that they are not a very good team with the regression they have faced. The comments I made were based on fact and statistics while you spout drivel and absolute nonsense about "slapping tits and beating the O bags."  Are you serious or a mental retard?

It was only a matter of time.  This team was playing way over its head for the majority of the first part of the season and now that they have regressed back to their expected levels the Sox are in trouble.  The regressions of Iglesias, Nava, and Salty coupled with the subpar season of Drew and the losses to the bullpen{Hanrahan, Bailey, Miller} and rotation {Bucholz} mean this is not a very good team.

Why is everybody so quick to trade Bryce Brentz? He is a RH power bat that projects to have a ceiling in the range of .280/25hr/80rbi. That is exactly what this lefty heavy lineup needs.

Honestly you should really get a clue before you post this drivel!  To say that Lackey had a "bad attitude" could be the most ridiculous comment of the entire post considering that Lackey is regarded as probably the best teammate on the entire team and wants to win more than anyone else.  Sure the guy had a tough couple of years, that's because he had a torn ligament in his elbow.  He put the team ahead of his own health in trying to gut it out because he knew that the Red Sox had nobody else.  Now you may slam the guy but I see this as a very selfless act trying to help the team win.  Oh and thank god you don't have a CY vote because you don't have a CLUE either.
