I'm going for Serena too. She's certainly been more vulnerable this year, but her record at the US Open has been solid and I think she will be really motivated to do well this fortnight. There will be pressure though. You mention Svitolina bringing in some good form, but I would say Makarova has had equally solid results and could go deep. Bouchard has done great at the Slams, but I think the long season is starting to catch up with her. Tough to pick out a finalist from the bottom half but I'd go for Kerber.

I'd be surprised if Serena goes all the way in Cincy, she looked knackered in Montreal. Same goes for Venus, who has done incredibly well this week. To continue that in Cincy would be nothing short of extraordinary. I've noticed SteveGTennis likes Genie! She has a really tough draw, but if anyone can rebound after what happened last week, I suppose it's Genie... I'm going for a Sharapova v Wozniacki final.

Zverev has had a fantastic week, but Ferrer on clay in a semi-final is several steps up from anyone Zverev has played this week. Zverev will be confident, but I think this match will be too much, both mentally and physically. Ferrer also looked dialled in after beating Andujar today. Huge credit if this prediction comes off, but I'm going for Ferrer in two sets.

Agree with both your semi-final picks.  I nearly went Dimitrov and I think he has a great chance if he plays as well as he did against Murray.  Going against Djokovic though, in a best of five setter and playing someone who has never played in a Grand Slam semi-final just feels too risky. As a neutral, hoping for a close contest and a great match.

This should be a great match. Both playing well, both mentally pretty tough these days. I'll say Genie in 3, but really nothing to call between the pair.

I wasn't expecting this prediction! I've gone for the same, Kyrgios in 5 sets. The pressure will be on Raonic gunning for a first GS semi-final against a player that on paper, he should beat. Kyrgios hasn't had much time to settle after the Nadal loss and I think he could carry momentum into this one.

Federer has cruised through the draw and hasn't even played a tiebreak yet. He has the edge on grass and Stan has already played two days in a row. I'd take a Roger in 3 with a couple of tiebreaks.

I think that win for Tsonga over Querrey was pretty huge for his confidence. Tsonga's best chance of pushing Djokovic will be on the grass; however recent matches in their H2H would suggest JWT has a bit of a mental block playing Novak. I'll be surprised if Tsonga wins a set.

Match of the day for me. Ivanovic will be the heavy favourite and I could see her winning in straights. Equally, I could see Lisicki produce her best performance of the year... Sabine in 3.

I'd agree with Petra in three. Mona has been playing well enough lately to get a set, particularly against someone as streaky as Petra. However, if Mona got into a winning position, I'd be stunned if she could hold her nerve and pull off the upset. A little concerned by Petra's injury, but hopefully won't be an issue!

Serena is pretty good at bouncing back so I'd be surprised if she had another disappointing tournament. I fancy a Serena v Petra final. Recent RG champions haven't fared well at Wimbledon and Maria has a tough draw. I believe she could fall to Giorgi in R3, assuming they play each other. Li has a great draw, which is key considering she's played no competitive tennis for four weeks.

I'm also backing a Serena v Petra final. A little concerned about Petra's injury, but her recent record at Wimbledon (SF, W, QF and QF) speaks for itself. In terms of upsets, I think Sharapova will fall in R3. Eastbourne featured so many brilliant WTA matches and hoping Wimbledon will be more of the same!

I'm going for a Murray d. Federer final.  It all comes down to Nadal really.  If he makes it through the first three rounds unscathed, I think he becomes the favourite.  However, he will be very vulnerable early on and I fancy either Klizan or Karlovic, both a handful on their day, will knock him out.

Bold move picking Vika to the final. I'd be surprised but anything is possible at Wimbledon after last years crazy draw. Upsets wise, I think Giorgi will take out Sharapova in R3. I'm going for a Serena d. Kvitova final.

Bold pick...i'm rooting for Halep, but I think Sharapova will prevail in 3 sets.  When they played in Madrid and Sharapova found her rhythm, Halep didn't really have any answers.  Of course, there is no guarantee that Maria is going to bring out her best tennis and she has looked shaky this week, particularly on her serve.  However she has experience of Grand Slam finals and we don't know how Simona will cope with the occasion... Good Luck Simona :-)

Really looking forward to this match and rather stunned it's on Suzanne Lenglen. Although Kuznetsova won in Stuttgart, Halep hadn't found her feet yet on the clay. Both have played really well this week, but i'd probably take Halep in three sets.

All the women's matches are tough to call on Monday. Peak Sloane could easily win this. I'd agree with your call of Halep in three sets though. Halep will need to step up her game and be aggressive to beat Sloane.

I'd agree with this. I would love to see Lucie finally pull out a big win. On five occasions this year, she has taken a set off a top ten player. I know Ana isn't a top ten player right now, but this would be a huge scalp for Safarova if she were to pull it off. I have a horrible feeling it could be like Lucie's match with Li Na at the Aus Open.

Interesting. Most people seem to be going for Monfils, but I'd give a slight edge to Fognini too. All depends on whether Fabio loses the plot in front of what will be a passionate home crowd for Monfils.

I'd agree with Nadal in 4. Thiem showed in Madrid what he is capable of against Wawrinka. RG is obviously a step up, but Nadal will be slightly more vulnerable being so early in the tournament and having not played on PC yet.

Amazing match from Nishikori yesterday and fully fit, this could have been a cracking final.  However, Nishikori was obviously struggling yesterday with a back complaint and I wouldn't be surprised if he pulled out of this final.  Huge credit to Kei for his performances this week, but agree with Nadal in two sets.

Interesting match-up. Glad to see Petra pick up some wins after the early loss in Stuttgart. She'll always have a chance against anyone with her shotmaking abilities, but I don't think her consistency is going to stack up against Halep on clay. Simona in 2 tight sets.

Paris is always a funny one particularly  now as it is the week before the WTF.  I see surprises and lots of them.  I'm still going for a Nadal-Djokovic final but I see Monfils, Dolgo, Haas, Dimitrov and Almagro all making the quarters with attention quickly switching to London.

11 months ago on ATP Paris Masters 2013 Draw Preview and Analysis

My predictions for the quarters are Serena-Flipkens, Radwanska-Jankovic, Wozniacki-Halep and Stosur-Azarenka.  I like your prediction of Bouchard to the quarters.  I reckon she will beat Kerber in R2, but I have her going out in R4.  I think Azarenka is going to win it overall, but it is still a bit of a risk despite her recent win over Serena because as you point out, the head-to-head still massively favours Serena.

Enjoying your previews each week.  Serena-Azarenka seems a safe bet and it's the final I am predicting too.  I think Errani has a good draw and will probably make the semi-finals; too often I underestimate her. I also like Robson's chances against Radwanska in R2, particularly with Aga's recent losses against Cibulkova and Stosur, who both played consistent and aggressive tennis.  Robson has beaten Aga before in Madrid and I wouldn't be surprised if she did again.

Azarenka is bound to be rusty but I cannot see anyone in the draw who could give her any problems.  Radwanska really needs to take a break.  She looked flat out at Wimbledon and even in Stanford last week.  I find it puzzling particularly as she fell away at this stage last year because of playing too much tennis.

A fascinating set of semi-finals and both should be really close and entertaining.  I actually think its much more exciting than the Serena-Sharapova-Azarenka match-ups, which I was starting to tire at because of Serena's recent dominance.  All 4 left are pretty equal and I'm going for a Lisicki-Bartoli final.

I am going for Lisicki, Li, Bartoli and Kvitova to make the semi-finals.  I like that you have gone for Flipkens and was tempted myself because she is definitely underrated.  She has a great game for the grass and will run Kvitova close, but I think Kvitova's experience at these stages of a Grand Slam will give her the slight edge.

I am most intrigued by Hampton-Stephens... Hampton will have a lot of confidence going in with 7 wins at Eastbourne, but Stephens will be much fresher.  Still, I fancy Jamie to come through.

Wawrinka has been much more mentally tough this year and I think he will take out Hewitt, but it is sure to be a five setter.

I agree with the semi-final predictions and cannot see Serena getting upset along the way.  I am most intrigued by Hampton-Stephens in the first round as I see the winner making the quarters, hopefully Hampton.  Halep's form has been terrific since Rome and I think she will take out Li Na in R2, if not Hantuchova will probably do so in R3.

It should be a great two weeks but I hope someone can challenge Serena along the way...

A great preview... hard to look past Serena but rest of the draw looks interesting.  Although I fancy a Serena-Lisicki 4R showdown, Elena Vesnina definitely deserves a mention.  I cannot see Li getting past both Halep and Hantuchova and fancy her to fall early.  It is rather incredible for Halep to claim back-to-back titles on clay and grass so I am very intrigued to see how far she goes his week.

Hampton-Sloane is the toughest first rounder by far and I spent ages deliberating on it.  I have gone for Jamie although I am wary of whether she is spent from her exploits in Eastbourne.  I am confident that the winner of Jamie/Sloane should take out Wozniacki in the third round.  I was not impressed by Ivanovic at all in Eastbourne and think 4th round is the very best she could hope for.  Kvitova is the only player on her day I could see challenging Serena on her day, but she is far too much of a risk.  Still, I hope we get to see Vika/Kvitova in the quarters.

I agree with you from the semi-final predictions, but I have a few upsets in the quarters with Hampton and Hantuchova.

A good preview, who are you predicting as the winner? I'm going for Murray over Djokovic in the final.  I think it is a wide open tournament with the top 4 all quite evenly matched.  I felt at the start of the year Murray would win Wimbledon.  After seeing him come through at Queens and because he is fresh from not playing RG, he just gets the nod for me.  Gasquet is the only player from outside the top 8 that I think will break into the quarter-finals.  It's a risky one as he is 1-15 in 4th round Grand Slam matches, but there's always got to be a punt in there! I hope Nadal-Federer happens, it will be a pretty surreal occasion for a quarter-final.

Agree with your final predictions and hope we get to see at least one match-up including the big three. I do not fancy Aga or Errani to do well here and predict Ivanovic and Lepchenko making quarters; Lepchenko has favourable head-to-head records over both Vinci and Errani and is my wild punt of the week. Vika has a tough opener against Pavlyuchenkova, but I think having played 5 matches in Oeiras, Azarenka will actually come through relatively comfortably.

Tough match for Sharapova and strange to see her win the first set in all three matches this week, but lose the second.  Kerber played well, but like Ivanovic, wilted at the crucial stage of the decider.  I don't hold much hope for Kerber in this match-up in the future because Sharapova was pretty terrible for large patches of second and third set, but yet still found a way to win.
