The $15M number does not square up with the company's Form D filing, which says they just closed $35.6M round. Anybody have any idea why there is this inconsistency? http://formds.com/issuers/life-image-inc
@pastorhaynes its not a baby dude. its a fetus. not getting into a stupid religious debate about what is and isn't a baby. but its nice to know how cheap actual, viable human life is to you.
@carystraley @flyer38 obviously i don't think they should shoot first and ask questions later. police should never fire until fired upon or when their warnings are explicitly ignored. however, if you use a gun to thwart a robbery and then run outside to greet the cops while still holding the weapon you were asking to get shot. and if your argument is that after you use a weapon you are incapable of acting logically then perhaps its not a great idea to have untrained people carry weapons in the first place. the point here is that this example is dumb.
@flyer38 maybe he should have used some of his 13 hour filibuster to clarify this point. i have no problem with using drones against American's personally, particularly those who actively conspire to commit acts of war against the US (which you somehow consider to be not actively involved in warfare i guess) but i do have a problem with idiots like Rand Paul making government policy.
@flyer38 Sure, in fact absolutely. But I fail to see how this has anything to do with drones. The only reason for killing the thief is if he poses imminent danger to a human being. Killing him with a flying robot is ridiculous and totally unacceptable.
So Rand Paul is okay with killing a dude who stole $50 from a liquor store (whether done by a cop or a drone) but thinks abortions are the equivalent to murder?!? WTF is wrong with this country that we elect morons like this to make policy. I think we should use drones to protect ourselves from dumb ass Senators...
I was finally able to sign in, but not using Twitter or Google, which would have been my preference. Just FYI.
First of all, your commenting system is broken. It won't let me sign in to livefyre. Secondly, have you seen the Startup Health Network (http://startuphealth.net)? We are already providing this matchmaking service via the dedicated social tools built into the network. I think its a far more powerful format than what this company is doing, which appears to be simply a consulting business with no real technology behind it at all. I will happily invite you to join the Network if you haven't already been invited, Stephanie.
Though, I suppose when you are already a billionaire its tough to consider anything you do a "startup" in the true sense.
In my opinion, a list of the best LA entrepreneurs that doesn't include Patrick Soon-Shiong clearly was compiled by someone who doesn't have a clue what a great entrepreneur really is. Granted, his biggest deals have been pharmaceutical companies (though I challenge you to find another entrepreneur who has started and sold TWO pharmaceutical companies for ten figures) but his current startup Nantworks is essentially a digital health startup and should qualify him. I mean, unless the list was only meant to include founders of meaningless media businesses that contribute little to society other than advertising.
I think West Health Fund was also in on this round. Just FYI.
